My guess is that it could be the other way round. The parents own a small shipping company and want to make sure that he has the funds to not leech off of them.

As far as I remember, you will also need 2 passport photos too for them to attach to the form.

I just viewed my location in Google maps and hand copied a hand drawn map from that.

Simple.

The staff at Kamphaeng Phet immigration are fairy friendly, and efficient and honest in my experience.

Be aware though that it depends on when you are coming to KP, that the immigration office will be moving to a new location sometime in the New Year,  almost 20km from their present location.
