  1. 21 October 2020 same as PeterW42 for Sattahip.  I was getting in it to make my life easier, but it turns it out it makes it more difficult as you have waste time at the Amphoe and Immigration. In addition to the information above you need to submit copy of owner and blue book of owner if you are renting the property plus names of witnesses with blue book of witnesses.  You need 2 witnesses.  All is then sent off for checking and after one month you called with witnesses to sign the Yellow book.  It is then issued.  That is what Amphoe Sattahip have told us.  All documents including your passport has to be translated into Thai and Notarised.  They will not accept a copy from before as I tried to get them to accept a copy of my passport given to them for birth certificate.  They said no you must get new.  It is as complex and needs similar documents to marriage certificate.  Accept marriage certificate do not need proof residency from immigration.  Its balls aching takes about 2 hours each time you go the the Amphoe and immigration.  So if you do be prepared to lose at least a couple of days of your life doing it.

  2. I had gout in 2012 6 months after coming to Thailand.  Under Samitivej doctor I discovered my sugar in take from eating out had increased 11 fold.  I also found that Thai beers are higher in not great quality yeast.  So my uric acid, trycliseride, LDL were all high.  Quarterly blood test and not eating out except where can say man nam taan, man wan was understood got all down.  Allopurinal until 2019. as my diet is under control.  Lots of veg, no sugars, low carbohydrates, meat makes little difference and I opted to eat more antipasti type meats as well as pork mainly.  Gout is a missing gene that helps us not to absorb Uric acid.  Thailand's restaurants use sugar to an excess, salt and msg and all help gout.  Chang, Singha all high in carbs and yeast.  I now drink San Migel lite which is 3 carbs a opposed 15 to 20 carbs.  I only started last year.  My doctor recommended red wine as alternative 2 glasses a day as antioxidant is good for you and one two pieces 99% chocolate same.  So blood tests were invaluable and this doctor should not generalise treatment and diet, everyone is different reaction to diet depending on their bacteria, build, consumption needs.  There is not such thing as a generic diet or bad things and good things.  Moderation as we were taught is the key.

  3. Putting all the TAT tourism eggs in China has back fired!  The strategy has been woeful.  It has taken this virus to make the baht start to dive not the government.  $31 today.  Richard Barrow does more for tourism than TAT who are woeful in their communication and do not have a good advertising or communication to other countries.  Hence, Western and Australasia tourists have dropped significantly as Utapao and DM build flights to China and Russia exclusively.  Get the Baht to meaningfully exchange rate like $34 to $38 and those tourists will return.   I do see any proper economic policy except infrastructure as Thailand is in recession with false numbers showing 2% growth.
