  1. Yes, I understand the problem. In my case they understood what I was saying but as they had never heard of an egg cup, i had to clarify in Thai what it was used for. Generally, Thais don't eat soft boiled eggs and have no need for egg cups. My Thai wife has never heard of an egg cup neithersmile.png

I don't understand why people make blanket statements about what Thais do or don't do something. My Thai boyfriend and I eat soft boiled eggs once a week and the day the housecleaners come because it's quicker and less messy. We don't have egg cups ( I don't like eating my boiled eggs that way.), we just scoop the eggs into a small bowl.

  2. The past participle of the infinitive verb 'to shrink' in English is 'shrunk' so, in a present perfect question it should read: "Has your English vocabulary shrunk over the years". Of course, if you're American, they don't seem to bother too much with past participles which is a minefield for English students. A recent American English teacher wrote on his application to become a teacher - "we don't learn verb tenses in America"! Heaven help his students... :-(

This teacher is an idiot. Of course, they teach verb tenses in America. Obviously, he didn't learn them.

  3. I have found that, not only do Thai doctors over prescribe antibiotics, but Thais go to the pharmacy and buy antibiotics for any little thing. I knew a guy who bought antibiotics because he had been caught in the rain. I knew the pharmacist well and asked him to explain to this guy that he should not be taking antibiotics for such a reason. He tried to convince him, but to no avail. Down the road this country is going to have a major health crisis because of over medicating people.

  4. I find all Nationalities to be quite annoying, including my own..

The latest annoyance is the Russians talking Russian to 7/11 staff and expect them to understand..

..English is the international language, period..coffee1.gif

Thai should be spoken in Thailand period, you cant expect low paid low schooled Thais to understand English. Your in Thailand.. adapt. But im pretty sure you do, but i find it unreasonable to expect Thais in their own country to speak English especially low paid ones.

"Your in Thailand"? I hope your Thai is better than your English.

  5. I ate there several years ago, with bad food, poor service and double pricing I haven't been back. As for the view, you can go to le Saigon and get the same view with better food and service and the price is the same for Thai and Farang.

  6. Problem with the flour you get here is it is mostly cake flour.

This isn't true. I make bread all the time and the flour I find here is mostly all purpose flour, which works well for bread. When I do want cake flour I usually have a hard time finding it.

  7. "I like to systematically trace them back as far as I can and then 'let em av it' with a can of bug killer... I like to think I win, but its only the battle, the war is ongoing... "

With the powder I posted about you don't have to trace them anywhere; they carry the poison back to their nest and do the job for you.
