  1. The problem for Thailand is that most of the Chinese who have been here are unlikely to return anytime soon.  Overcrowded beaches, dangerous ferries and buses, abusive Thais etc.

Those that will come will be newbies and their numbers will slow as the economy slows in China.

The Chinese dont spend much anyway. Whats the big deal??  Only big numbers obviously. All quantity no quality same as Indians.  No Chinese and few Russians and Indians drink in soi bars  so thats pretty much curtains for Pattaya.

  2. This guy is seriously rich yet he doesnt appear to have any buttons on his trousers?

His tie is stuck under his belt.  lol

I think he's just had a doozey in the- hong narm-  and looks a bit flustered .

He allegedly bought a whole lot of expensive leather shoes for the cops after he was arrested.

He cant possibly go to prison. He's seriously wealthy. If he gets a jail sentence he will appeal immediately and go home for dinner.

If not, just buy the prison and demolish it . It could be  sitting on private land same as many police stations.

  3. I'm not a builder but if you take a close look at a lot of these 'ancient sites' in Bangkok and elsewhere it looks like modern bricks and mortar has been applied. Are they really several hundred  years old ?? Obviously not in Bangkok .

Alot of old Siam  was trashed by Burmese armies not long ago which is why they moved the capital down to BKK.

Alot of sites are falling to bits not because they're so old but because theyre pooly built with crusty little red bricks.

Some so called 'ancient sites' have the same decay as modern Thai houses and soi buildings.

There are at least 3 Thai Airways crashes I am aware of in Phuket, Katmandhu & Surat Thani

Youre right. I stand corrected.  Actually i am shocked.  They've had five  fatals of which 4 were big and two were in Phuket  ??  <deleted> !

I wasnt aware of that.  Gee... they managed to keep them quiet. Ive been here for years.

    I'm not flying with them . <deleted>

You try to give THAI a leg up and get slapped  in the face for your troubles.

  5. There is talk here in Bangkok that Thaksin is getting itchy feet and wants to return to LOS.

Takky, or Yingy or even his son would absolutely romp home in an election.

Isaan and UP North love them. No money that the army goons throw at the masses will save them.

Usurper Prayuth cracked a fit infront of the media again this morning. He was telling them to shut up and go away. He has no idea.... THE MANCHILD.

Well, Australia will once again have to decide between the bad or worst of what is on offer at an election. Compulsory voting seems a contradiction in my mind when arguably, not voting could be exercising one’s democratic rights. However, as it is in place and penalties apply for not voting I think this ‘system’ should always have an option to express dismay at the candidates by having an ‘I prefer not to vote due to the quality of choices’ box. As it is, even a deliberate defacing or scrawled commment about how unhappy a voter is on a ballot paper goes down as a ‘donkey vote’ rather than what it really is.

Of course Shorten and the Labour Party can be relied upon or fix things like the deficit.......ROFLMAO.

Voting in elections in Australia has NEVER been compulsory.

Turning up on election day and having your name marked off the electoral roll IS !

After your name is marked off you can toss the ballot papers on the floor ,make a party hat , a dart  or just plain walk out the door.

Victorians  are fed up with having little or no  representation in Canberra even though we are one of the most populous and advanced states.  Canberra is full of rednecks and real estate agents from NSW and QLD.  Victorian  taxpayers money has been used for decades to build  vast highways across  almost empty unpopulated wasteland   particularly in WA,QLD and  NT.  Victorians money had to rebuild Darwin after cyclone tracy in 1974.

Most of Australia outside Victoria and coastal NSW and Sth QLD  is  wasteland .

We should of sold WA to the Japs in the fifties. Australia would now have a trading partner with maybe 20 millions within driving distance.  The Japs would of developed WA in less than 2o years.

Today its just a wasteland full of redneck pubs and  football teams subsidised by the AFL in Melb'ne.

If Labor returns to powerethe unions will have that country by the balls if they havent already.

Bleak times ahead for OZ. Its been coming for years. The young & spoilt millenium generation will have a fit.

  7. Thailand used to have  great rice but those days are gone unless you spend 38-45b /kg for hi-grade hom.

Got a 20kg sack of midrange rice from Ubon via my kids mother recently.  Have  to cook and eat it straight away. Re-heat next day it turns to glue.

You wonder how much pledge rice left over from Yinglucks time is still trickling into the supply chain.

You can't trust Thais . I wouldn't want one of their village wives either.

Thailands best exports are genuine silk products -founded by a farang-  and beer snacks.

Virtually all of Thailands reborn silk industry  was started by well paid  sneaky ex employee's of Jim Thompson.

They copied all his colours and designs, he was devestated they betrayed him  then he vanished in Ipoh  -  not even a puff of dust. Case closed.

  8. Famous last words......'its very sad he /she was highly experienced!'

    '

The worlds cemeteries are full of the following highly experienced young people...

    PADI   scuba divers

    Motorbike riders

    Skydivers

    Paragliders

    Rapid river kayaking -upside down

    Rock face climbers

There will be many more ridiculous weekend activities i'm thankfully not aware of.

Before you jump on my case and say i havent lived,  i was a commercial diver for 7 years. One time we dived in the same spot where PM Holt drowned & disappeared  in the late sixties off Cheviot beach.

Close to shore  but very dangerous due to forrest kelp and currents in summer.  Even our deckhand was qualified.  Everyone on a commercial boat must be qualified. ...Australia

    Deaths are rare .

climbers embrace life... revel in life... and “they” say your never more alive than when facing death.

anyway, there’s a lot more dangerous things to do on railay... I was there on Tuesday, pished as a nute... nearly died.

condolences to those left behind, tip your beer, rattle your nuts.... and climb on.

Sorry , but that would have to be the most obtuse or meaningless post ive ever read.

  10. Ive never heard of a swing of that magnitued even in a by-election where emotions run high.

We live in very unpredictable times.

The Libs could still win the Federal election if Labor screws up their campaign with trade union thugs and the transgender/gay mafia  lobby milling around.

Very hard for independents to actually win government although i wish them all the best.

Corbett in the UK will already be on the phone to Bill Shorten offering congratulations and support.

Israel is also watching  Shorten with interest.

  11. One of the first rules of law in Thailand is you NEVER give money to an 'agent'  for any business transaction being travel or property  or middleman of some kind.

What the hell is  an agent anyway ??

If youre buying a tour then you pick up all your confirmed tickets and documents immediately- not at the airport.

Why were the Thai's milling around at the airport waiting for a  f##king  agent!!!

Asians/Chinese always seem to need someone to hold their hand when they travel.

The notorious -clip joint- applies to everything in LOS .

Set up a business  ie... travel agent, estate agent , 20baht loan shark or bj bar.  Keep it operating a while then start accumulating large amounts of  clients baht then suddenly disappear at 4 am  in the Isuzu pickup never to be seen again.

  12. Sitting on a train once a Thai man and his son were eating the usual junk in plastic bags sold by train vendors.

When finished the father tossed an empty water bottle out the window into farming land that was well irrigated. I just stared at him . He didnt throw the other crap out or atleast i didnt see him do it.

His adult son today is probably a pig just like papa.
