I was quoted 60.000 thousand baht at Sriphat Medical Center in Chaing mai for an extended lens , in one eye, cataract grade 2. The operation would take a few hours. I saw Dr. Janejit, she has an excellent reputation. My visit including Special Diagnostic Imaging 450 baht , examination with the special fluid in the eyes 100 Baht and my bill
came to 1,200 baht. She is very popular , be prepared for a long wait , unless you make you appointment well in advance and arrive early .

I have skin cancer and live in Chaing mai. I had a lot of difficulty in finding and trusting a plastic surgeon to remove
an invasive basal cell carcinoma on the side of my nose . I finally decided on Dr Anan Watcharajittitham, who works at the Chaing mai Ram Skin Center. He was the only surgeon to throughly inspect my lesion , and as I did not have health insurance reduced his fee to 30.000 baht.
He operated for 1.30 mins and used a local anaesthetic , at the Ran Skin Center Clinic, so I didi not have to spend a night at the hospital. The scar has been healing very well and I have been back to see him several times, and I am very happy with the excellent after care .
The clinic itself is spotless , Dr Anan speaks good English too.
I had my biopsy done by Dr Siri Chiewchanvit at the Skin and Cosmetic-Excellence 5th floor, at Sriphat Medical Center
and it was 7.000 Baht. I am hoping this information will help someone else as I had been very reluctant to have surgery at all , but happy it is over and am very pleased with the result.

We used Assist Thai Visa Services in Chiang Mai , everything notarized, an American lawyer working there did the very through will. Around 8,000 baht, well worth it for peace of mind !
-
You MUST have a notarized Will in Thai with the English translation, made through a reputable company. A ops will be left with the notaries office , and a copy for you. We are a married English couple , we have been living in Thailand for many years, we have made the Thai wills. The bank will do anything to hang onto the money.

I had a consultation with Dr. Supon at Sriphat Hospital, the Government Hospital, where he works Saturday mornings 10-12.
Dr. Supon also works at the Chaing mai Ram 4 evenings a week, 5-7.
He spoke excellent English, and had a very patient and kindly manner . He also took plenty of time to go over my medical and PSA tests and listened to my questions . I had come for a second opinion as it had been suggested I should have
laparoscopic robotic surgery, of which he has performed over a hundred such operations at the Sriphat Hospital.
However I was greatly relieved when he told me an operation to reduce my prostrate would not be necessary and that my prostrate would become smaller by taking medication.
Before my consultation I had looked at the hospital ward on the top floor. Since the building was old I had expected the same for the hospital ward, but they were brand new and in absolute pristine condition, with cooking facilities and an extra bed for a family member. Even great views of Chaing mai! The basic price for 1 night is 2,100 baht but around 3.000 if you need meds. and have your blood pressure checked regularly.
I had also checked the Ram hospital, the price of a hospital bed starts at 5.000 baht , plus extra for your medications. Even if you stay at the Ram for robotic surgery you will be taken by ambulance to the Sriphat hospital as it's the only hospital with the robotic equipment.
The price of robotic surgery for enlarged prostate is 450.000 Baht at Sriphat hospital , a consultation 500 baht. At the Chaing mai Ram it's 500.000 baht for the same operation.
and a consultation is 1.000 baht plus,
Note you should sign a hospital agreement with the quote , which will be the maximum sum you will agree to pay for the operation..
We had a difficult time finding the right Urologist for this problem and I hope this help someone else

Be wary of Monza, Sterling , I have read many bad reviews, so do check throughly so that your money does not get frozen in an account with them , as poor customer service if things go wrong. I went to SIngapore and opened a bank account with both HSCB and DBS. DBS is excellent, suggest you contact these banks in Singapore and find out exactly what is required to set up a bank account .
Excellent customer service and no need to do online banking, which is much safer.

Thank you very much for your help.
I found the well -reputed Neurologist whom I had heard about on this forum: Dr. Surat Tanprawate . Fluent english ! He now only works at Sriphat Medical Center Sat. mngs. 9-12
However he has his own clinic at ChivaCare Medical and Physical Therapy Clinic , 8 soi 11 Siri Mangkalajarn Rd Suthep Chiang mai, (off the Nimmanahaemin Road, easy to find). Tel 096 9800126. 052 005 457. www. chivacare.com. He is there Tue and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. 500 baht fee.
He sent me for an M.R.V. scan , back of head, which I did at the Sirphat, 11.500 B. Luckily the scan came back all clear. I had stopped all my medication from the hospital, and I now feel fine , I think the Warfarin made me ill , and the dose was far too high. There are now many replacements for Warfarin.

Hello, thank you, however I need the Neurologist to live in Chaing mai.
-
I had a brain clot a week ago, and went to a large hospital in Chiang mai. My doctor speaks hardly any English , nor seems to have had much experience. She has perscribed me a high dose Warafarin
which I have never taken before. It seems to have made me rather worse.
Please, I must find another Neurologist in Chaing mai for a second opinion as quiclly as possible, can anyone reccommend please ?

Be very , very careful of Adovart Dusteride. My husband was recommended this drug by a top surgeon here, who said there were no side effects. He hardly slept for 2 years, we could not figure out why. I looked into and found many forums complaining about this drug. Side effects not sleeping and feeling very weak. The day he stopped this drug , he slept 14 hrs straight through , it took 6 months to get this drug out of his system He know takes Saw Palmetto, one capsule a day, extra strength , Havasu. His enlarged prostate is fine and so is his PSA level.
