Note that you will not be allowed to cross the border in a rental car, unless you are crossing with a driver who owns the car.

All the Cambodian border crossings are OK except Aran/Poipet.

You are correct that there is a Cambodian immigration rule that mandates an overnight stay. However, the requirement is routinely waived on payment of a 200-300 baht tip to the officials.

    Awesome thank you!

Make sure you get a seat up front.  Those rear a/c vents are useless. Would also give you a chance to interview the driver with questions such as “how is the tread on the tires?” , “what’s the fastest you have ever driven?” , “how many M-150s do you usually drink per day?”

Lmao, thanks i'll keep that in mind. Hopefully i'll get a chance to ask those questions????

Are you planning on bringing the car into Cambodia?  I’d check into the restrictions on that too.  Personally, if I was going to do a video documenting a visa run, I’d want to film it in its truest form.  A bunch of sweaty foreigners crammed into a minivan hurtling itself down the highway at dangerous speeds.

LOOLL, i guess that would make the best footage..

and thanks i'll look into it.

Hi, i'm on multiple entry currently and need to do a visa run. Considering it costs 1900 baht for the 1 month extention, i'm assuming this is a great price. The next time around, i want to do the run myself by renting a car and videoing the entire experience. Would that cost me more or less? Considering you can get a car rental for 700 to 1000 baht and do i need to stay out of country for a certain period of time or can i just return back right away?

I'm canadian btw and here's the link to the visa run website.

    Thanks!

  5. Hi guys, I figured some of you might have girlfriends or know someone that's interested in a masseuse job.

Pay is 200 baht per day plus 50% of all massages. If the girl wishes to live at the shop, she's required to pitch in cleaning and rent is 900 baht per month. The job starts at 1:30 pm to 3 am. The shop is currently short on staff so i don't think they get a day off but you can work those details out.

Experience: It's best if you have experience and already know how to massage, but training can be given for a cost of around 3000 baht(check with owner exact cost).

The girl should be 19+ and fairly fit and attractive.

    Shop name: Maya Healthy Massage

    Contact: 082-9841416 or 062-2018679

    Location: 2nd road.

You can call or go in person.

Good luck and feel free to post any questions here!

If you have a Visa or Mastercard debit card for your bank account....Take your card & passport to a Bangkok bank that has currency exchange - several in CM.....

Go to the teller & tell them you want a cash advance.....They will run the card and give you the cash....They will make a copy of your passport for you to sign across as well as the debit card receipt to sign.....

No charges from Bangkok bank but your home bank might charge a fee.....

     Good up to 400k.....

     I've done it many times......

Oh great, thanks i'll do that!

  8. Hi, I need to withdraw 100k baht from my scotiabank chequing account. I went to multiple banks but they said they aren't able to do it and that i should just use the atm and pay the fee everytime which is 220 baht. The problem is that i can only withdraw 11k baht per my bank limit and even if i have it raised, the atm only allows 20k to 30k baht per transaction. I went to weston union, they said they require the debit card to have the owners name on the card. Scotiabank debit cards don't have that. They weren't sure about the limit of how much i can withdraw at once anyway.

Is there any solution to this? Any special bank that can work this out? Should I call my bank and see if they can arrange something? or Is there a way to send money cheaply to a friend who has a thai bank account? (The person is thai) Using this method i probably will not pay any fee or very little, under 100 baht i think.

I once got a Thai tourist visa issued in Phnom Penh that stated that my nationality is Khmer. That was good for a laugh, but didn't cause any issues when entering the country. I'd go as far as saying that the IO probably didn't even notice it, and as long as they don't scan the machine readable data on the visa and let the computer compare that to your passport details (that they do scan), such a birthday mismatch shouldn't matter either.

Wow haha I guess they do so many that mistakes happen. Thanks for the help!

  10. A friend is travelling to Bkk from india and his date of birth is off by 2 days. He's travelling within a day or 2. Should he risk it and travel given that he can just provide ID and his passport itself will have his correct information? or should he re apply. It'll take another week for him to get his information corrected and will miss his current schedule. Thanks for answering.
