  1. Hi,

My old VISA (Extension of stay based on employment (NON-B)) is already expired last week 22nd June 2020. I went to immigration to ask what to do and how to extend my VISA since I have a new employer who will issue me a VISA (Same VISA NON-B).

They cut my old expired VISA and issued me a new one based on amnesty.  Now I am trying to get a new NON-B Visa with my new employer but they kept on saying that I have to get out of the country.

Please help me! I've been going back n forth (LABOR/IMMIGRATION) with no luck.

    Not exactly.

If you have a valid work permit they could only apply for the work permit and then your current one would have to be canceled for it to be issued.

Are you on a 90 entry from a non-b visa or were you issued a extension of stay based upon working issued by immigration?

No, my VISA now is for 1 year which will expire this 20th.

You new employer could apply for your work permit to get a work permit application approval letter to change your current extension of stay to the new employer. Then current work permit could be canceled after the new extension is issued so the new one can be issued.

You cannot change back to a tourist visa without leaving the country. After your current permit to say is canceled or endsy you be staying in the country under the amnesty until July 31st.

So meaning to say I do not have to cut my current NON-B visa (Previous Employer) and this will be their basis to apply for a new work permit (new employer) ?

    Thank you.

  4. Hi all,

I would like to know what to do with my current situation.

I have a new employer but my current visa is tied up with my work permit from my previous employer....the previous employer already gave me the cancellation letter to go to labor and immigration to cancel my current visa...

If I switch back to Tourist Visa, how can I get non-b again which will be issued to me by my new employee without going outside the country which I usually do before but due to covid-19 this will not be possible...

    Thank you.

The day you quit your job your extension ended as well, so technically you are on overstay now.

It could very well be that nobody will notice this, but you better leave the country as soon as possible.

How would the immig. officer know? I quit, but there is none in my passport that states that I'm not connected with my employer.

They could cancel the work permit if you have signed a power of attorney form.

You have to be present with your passport for them to cancel the extension of stay. If you are on a 90 day entry from non-b visa it would not be cancelled.

What if I don't show up? I never signed anything for them too.

I left last week. and Planning to leave Thailand entirely on 15th of Feb, my visa extension is until September 2020.

Will there be any problem? Thanks for your answer.

Any bike will use a lot less fuel than a car.

Do you really want the best efficiency or how about efficient and fun to ride?

How much motorcycle experience do you have in Bangkok or a similar place?

The smaller the bike the easier you will get through the traffic. But "bigger" bikes might be more comfortable.

I suggest you write some more information about you and the route you take to get the best advice.

How much motorcycle experience do you have in Bangkok or a similar place? This will be my first time buying motorcycle. I never drove one before, but I am familiar with the road as I ride motorcycle most of the time specially when traffic really sucks and driving is not an option.

Do you really want the best efficiency or how about efficient and fun to ride? Efficient and at the same time comfortable to ride.

    Thank you so much.

  9. Hi Ubonjoe,

What is the process? I currently have the permission to stay based on my current employers visa and work permit.

What are the documents needed for my new employer to apply for new working permit and visa under their company? I believe I have to leave the country?

    Thank you.

You could change employers without leaving the country.

You new employer would have to apply for you new work permit to get a work permit application approval letter and then with supporting documents you could cancel your current extension with a termination letter from your current employer and then apply for a new  extension. The after your current work permit the new one could be issued.

If not then it would be best to cancel your current extension before leaving the country to avoid problems when apply for a new one. Some immigration offices are insisting on it being formally canceled before they will issue a new one.

get an agent to sort it out. if you are in pattaya I can recommend a great girl who ran everything for me for 8 years. best to get it sorted. I had the wrong address in my work permit and it cost me 80k in 'fees' I even went through the courts and paid the official 8500thb official fine. I gave up doing it myself after that.

thanks but no, u got ripped by a large sum. I had fix mine by showing up in the labor office, they stamped a note at the back noting the changes made. Thanks all for your help!

  11. Hello,

I hope someone can help me about my problem.

My current non-b visa from Laos will expire this Dec-19 2018, I would like to know if I can apply with less than 15 days remaining on my current non-b visa.

I will apply for visa extension this coming 10th of Dec since my documents are not yet ready (I already have working permit). Please let me know what options I have and if this is possible.

    Thank you very much.
