Then go ahead and do it, if we don’t hear back from you then we’ll know what happened. This thread is evidence of intent, knowing the possibility of the outcome. And yes, individuals do get arrested and prosecuted for starting fires and yes equal justice for foreigners which includes deportation. Good luck with your little venture.
proof of being people arrested for accidently starting fires in thailand and foreingers being deported?
If someone started a fire........from one of the rockets from the rocket festival.......do you think theyd be arrested.........i think the answer is NO......
I've never seen it on the news, thats why im asking here

I was making gunpowder in grammar school back in 1950 when you had to search the library back shelf books for information and buy from the pharmacy. Kids can do a lot and if you do for real some will likely want to imitate.
But from your above it seems your only concern is personal arrest - well I suspect in this months paranoia you could well be the next headline if anything went wrong.
Kids have changed a lot since the 1950's.......
honestly kids apart from the odd science geek, spend 90% of their time looking at a screen.....and are too lazy to anything but scroll through facebook, instagram reals, and watch youtube videos

Ex-father-in-law. Are you a real teacher?
No I'm a fake teacher I'm just a hooligram so my actions don't have any consequences.
Students here still have basic common sense........and all this information is available on youtube anyway.
These rockets are so complicated to make and to source the materials......and the end results isn't even that specatular.....over within a few seconds........I would highly doubt they would ever try to make one..........
I can tell you for a fact.........Teenagers these days are way to pre occupied with social media, instagram and tiktok and gaming with games such as roblox and minecraft..... to be even remotely interested in trying to do complicated science experiments in their spare time.
Maybe 30 years ago it could have been a problem out of boredam, these day teenagers just care about their status on social media
If 100's of people release 1000's of LARGE massive rockets in NE Thailand with no consequences, I'm not sure how releasing a mini sugar can be seen as such an evil act by yourself ...........

Thats the whole point of this thread.......to find out if jail is a real outcome if something goes wrong....i can't find anything on thai news about someone either thai or foreinger being prosecuted for accidently a wildfire.....

"...to show my science class...".
...an example of something dangerous that they should never attempt, yes? And you're a teacher?...a real one? My ex-FIL was well known for making and 'competing' with his bang fai rockets until it all blew up in his face, literally, he died with total body burns three days later in hospital.
Whats an ex-fil?

I would wait a month or so utili we get some rain.
a couple of weeks ago, my garden farm and small farm house almost burned down from a similar incident (5 minute from our house by car)
we got a call from a neighbor and got there just in time to stop it on our fence, the corner of the storage farm house was already on fire. Some of my trees close to the fence had all of their leaves burned, I hope they come back.
Anyway If I had lost my farm and knew who did it , you can bet I would have had by Thai relatives go after him.
Your rocket experiment will be seen by your students, if a fire results from it . you can bet that it will get back to the parents. Don't take the chance,
Hope for some heavy rain at the end of april,
Hope for some heavy rain at the end of april I suppose, vegetation now will be like a tinder box

Who to blame when the kidlets build their own homemade rockets and set fires or blow off some fingers?
I don't think "don't try this at home" will suffice.
All this information is accessible from youtube and also which they watch..........
Also its so difficult and complicated to make one (order ingredients online, blender to make smooth powders, buy clay mix......make a fuse" - I think they would all be too lazy to even try to replicate it.

Okay so i didn't start a wildfire but do you know if any farang has been prosecuted and had their visa cancelled been blacklisted for example
Dropped a cigarette on grass which caused a big fire
Or set of a firework and it landing somewhere and cause a fire
Released a chinese latern and got arrested
I am thinking of making a homemade sugar rocket to set off outside......to show my science class...........Actually this will be in a 1km2 x 1km x 1km 1 xkm massive ploughed field with just soil (no chance of wildfire if it lands nearby)............If it flies high and long.......there is a small chance it won't use up all its fuel and small risk of starting a fire far away

WHY are so many here firmly on the side of foreign criminals?
Have you ever encountered chalong police or been through that roundabout?
Obviously the Kiwi tourists shouldn't have done what they did, but chalong police stop and fine tourists ALOT, probably the most out of any province in thailand, not an exaggeration. They chase down tourists on that road to rawai actively....most Thai police just have checkpoints and don't actively pursue
Maybe these Kiwi tourists were on holiday and booked a hotel room before the chalong roundable.
Maybe they already got pulled over once or twice and fined already on a short holiday they were on.....when trying they are just trying to enjoy there holiday an get to the beach and they didn't realise there drivers license at home wasn't enough to drive
Lets say they got pulled over a third time ......and just completely lost it and thought it was majorly unfair to pay another fine on their holiday they were just trying to enjoy
The problem is that roundabout is a chokepoint to the major beaches on the south and west of the island. These police perhaps ruined these guys holiday from being stopped multiple times
Also from the pictures - the rider is clearing wearing a helmet, he's probably seen 20 thai drivers in front of him with no helmet pass freely through the roundabout - without chalong police even batting an eye lid. Then they got singled out and shakedowned - You can understand why they feel unfairly targeted but obviously no justification for their actions

He would be 100% dead already in america, take an officers gun and if a officer is nearby they will Shoot to KILL.....basically 5 or 6 shots at close range aimed at the head

In Chalong's bustling daylight, two Kiwi tourists did stray, On a scooter's roar, they carelessly made their way. Through Phuket's lively streets, under the sun's harsh glare, Unaware of the chaos they would soon ensnare.
But fate, in its twist, brewed a tale of shame, As a Thai officer, pursuing, called out their name. With a scooter's rev, he chased them in haste, To halt their reckless ride, their disregard misplaced.
A brawl erupted, in the midst of the day's bright scene, As the tourists resisted, in a manner obscene. They grappled with the officer, in a crude display, In a disgraceful clash, in that public array.
Amidst the chaos, they seized the officer's gun, Pointing it mockingly, their foolishness undone. But in their hearts, no sense of honor or right, As they reveled in disrespect, in broad daylight.
With arrogance and hubris, they held the gun's sway, Choosing chaos over peace, in their reckless play. Their hearts, devoid of remorse, in the day's harsh light, As they taunted the officer, in their shameful flight.
Through Chalong's streets, where shadows cast a pall, Two Kiwi tourists brought disgrace, heedless of all. A tale of arrogance, of disrespect, and disgrace, In the tapestry of time, a blot on their race

Going to ruin it for everyone,
How many farangs are now going to be turned away with long visa histories at immigration?..... by disgruntled IO officials who join in in the anti farang sentiment

Not true at all.
How did you work out an education visa is a bogus visa?
Probably 75% of people with Ed-Visa are using that visa just to stay long term in Thailand, not actually study classes.......
'Tourists' use Ed Visas to stay long term in Thailand whilst usually doing remote work
There are also many scammers and undesirable tourists who use Ed Visas to stay long term.
Immigration has no real way or knowing whether you were genuinely studying classes or not.....and so everyone now with a previous ed visa has to suffer these types of consequences unless you get a new passport
If you don't want to pay the extra, go back to your home country and order a new passport

Logic dictates that if one can't swim and doesn't have a life jacket flotation would be difficult...
Looks like the guy wasn't alone, I wonder why the other one just didn't tow him to the shore instead of going to look for help.
Exactly just let him hang on to the of kayak, makes my sense

I was just at this lake last week and its pretty still......very small waves indeed
I find it impossible he drowned, even if you can't swim ...... you should stay bouyant on the surface.....makes no sense
I suggest foul play for whatever reason, wasn't his friend with him? should investigate the friend

I am thinking of getting a TR Visa in Penang,
Spend 1 week in Thailand ....then travelling home to UK for 2-3 weeks with re entry ,
When I come back i'd still have 3-4 weeks left of valid TR remaining
Has anyone done this and what was your experience with Immigration on the way back
The reason I'm doing this , is its easier and quicker to get TR visa in penang than UK

I understand they have fingerprint scanners but from contacting visa agents, apparently getting a new passport.......clears any problems of previous Ed visas

A new UK passport can be applied for at any time, no need to wait until it is full or nearing expiry, you could even apply for one because you don't particularly like your current passport photo
Are you sure

From my understanding....immigration only check your history attached to the passport number you enter with in the computer when you enter
If you get a new passport..........they will only look at history on computer from that new passport number
That is my understanding from Visa companies I have contacted
Many Visa companies I have contacted have said....."get new passport to avoid any problems"
