Being fired from my job was perhaps the most unexpected and horrifying thing that happened to me- I didn’t know what to do. New jobs were hard to find at the time, I knew that very well.

A friend of mine recommended travelling to refresh my mind, and surely that was the advice anyone ever gave me. Travelling seemed silly; it felt like I was running away from my responsibilities. However, the change it brought about was truly life changing. I got too see the dense green forests at Peru, and I even saw the most beautiful sun set in beaches of Hawaii. The diversity of cultures truly appealed to me- I was so glad that got a chance to get out of that box where I had planned to spend the rest of my life in. Life seemed so great, so big- all thanks to my travelling. Travelling to these amazing places made me realize the true significance of life- and that how great and beautiful life can be. I still remember the hopelessness that fell upon me when I was fired- but it’s all gone. Now I look forward to everyday with optimism.
