  1. I am currently living in Chiang Mai with a retirement visa. I have health insurance from abroad that covers me for Covid -19 , I also have the 1.0+ million baht in the bank and has been there for extended periods. I would like to know if I go abroad for a 3 month vacation will I be able to return to Thailand by just doing the covid testing and the 14 day quarantine before I return to my condo in Chiang Mai? Or will I have to forfeit my retirement visa and return as a tourist and then reapply for everything again. My retirement visa is a Non - O, not the Non O-A visa.  Thank you to anyone who is able to help with information concerning this.

First thing they need to do is tackle the farmers and the burn offs, this is the major contribution to the bad air quality.Taking into count  that for 7 to 8 months of the year the air quality is acceptable. It’s only when the farmers  start their <deleted> it gets really unhealthy.

Next thing would be to tackle the trucks and buses, and other forms of public transport. Start looking at electric tuk tuks etc.

Then start on private vehicles, cars, pickups, and motorcycles over ten years old need to pass strict emission controls before the rego is allowed to be renewed.

It will not be a quick fix,but you need to start in the right place, private vehicles are not the main contributor to the bad air quality.

In actual fact the vehicle is not necessarily the problem. I believe that all public transport is running on natural gas which a heck of lot cleaner than anywhere in the west where they still run diesel or gas burning transport. True several of the undergrounds run on electricity as does Thailands but the big difference is a major portion of the Thailand infrastructure runs on Natural gas as well which is why the oilfield here is so critical in maintaining the production of natural gas from the gulf of Thailand.

Educationg the provinces of the damages to future generations health is required to gain an understanding and hopefully a commitment from them in support of no burn. It would be a much larger benefit if it was also subsidized by the government.

  3. This down turn is not due to the strong baht when you have the following : December had more days over 100 than it did under 100 and January by the 20 had 17 days over 100 on the air quality index level in Chiang Mai. No it is not due to neighboring countries it is due to surround and southerly provinces that are unwilling to enforce the no burning of the sugar can fields clear and simple. Best idea educate the areas that do the burning and if required subsidize them so that not all their citizens life expectancy is reduced due to this simple control problem.

  4. Help Please. I have a question. I own a condo here in Thailand and frequently leave and return to Thailand. Am I required to complete a TM 30 each and every time on my return or is my departure and arrival card sufficient provided I am not in the country for longer than 9 days at a time. I have a retirement visa? Thank you for any help or recommendations.

If not is there a metal fabrication place one can go and provide drawings that they can follow in English dimensions to manufacture items such as BarBque or specific wood working items? Thank you very much for any assistance or recoemmendation for locations regarding wood work or metal fabrication?
