Hi; how many cumulative days in a given year you spend in Thai? I would guess if the total is significantly less than 180 days (the "unofficial" limit which seems to be enforced at many entry points), frequent short time visits should not be an issue. I come 2-3 times each year since 2014 for 15-20 days each visit, and didn't have any issue yet. I think total time spent in the country is more relevant that number of entries.

Dear all,
may I ask you for advice: I have a total of 12 visa exemption entries since early 2014; in general around two times each year (max 3 times), for holidays and no more than 10-20 days each time (never done any extension / overstay etc..).
I plan to come back by the end of April for 10 days and in August for 20.
Considering that now I have 10 plus visa exemption entry (although very short) shall I apply for SETV or I should be fine VE? (I usually fly business class)
thanks
regards

Hi all, it seems the Hull Consulate has published something which looks like an "official" rule regarding the 3 VE in 6 months by air (published in April '18). Anyone aware of new regulations recently issued ?

Hi all, as I understand IOs can't deny the 2 VE entry by land as this is the stated rule, correct? I was just wondering, when entering by air, does it mean that you're allowed at least 2 times each calendar year (and possibly more if you don't use back to back VE to live long time in the country), or that you could in theory be denied even with zero or one VE in a single calendar year ? Of course provided that you have the stated requirements, onward flight, 10k baht and hotel bookings.
Thanks !

Thanks for your kind feedback. yeah, that's true: I'm a genuine tourist and never thought about these kind of problems...but recent reports made me more cautious (actually, too much cautious!). It's just that I work hard to enjoy my holidays and I prefer to make sure I don't have any issue when I get there..!
thanks

Dear all,
I'm a European national, visiting Thailand 2 times each year since 2014 for holidays (usually in March and August, when I have my business holidays). Always come on visa exemption by air only, never done any extension/overstay. Usually I spend 10 days in the country in March and around 20 days in August. I always come with enough money, onward ticket back to my home country in Europe and health care insurance provided by my employer. Never been questioned at immigration; I plan to come back in August (in March '18 I spent one week in the country): I asked Thai consulate in my country if would have been better to get a Tourist Visa for August (considering that I have a number of VE already, although split over a couple of years), but they told me there's no need, and if I come to the country to stay only 20 days with a Tourist Visa (for the length of stay a VE would be enough), that could seems strange to IOs and add more scrutiny. Do you think I run any risk if I enter the country on VE as I always did, or should I insist with the consulate for the TV?
Thanks!

Interesting; does anybody has more information on this? that would make sense; if I remember well, it was reported that the system flagged you for extra-scrutiny after 6 cumulative entries since mid 2015 or something like that. In 2019 that would mean that even sporadic visitors 2 times each year would be flagged. 4 times per calendar year seems reasonable...
