  1. The embassy seems the best option at this time. They must have confiscated his phone, or he would have contacted one of us. I have no idea what he did.
  2. An acquaintance messaged me a couple of weeks ago that he was due in court in two days, and was currently in jail. I do not know why. Since then, there has been no word from him, and I assume he is in jail, having been sentenced by the court. Is there a way of finding out if he is in jail, and if so, which jail, and can I contact or visit him? He lives in Bangkok.
  3. I entered Thailand on a tourist visa on April 30, visited Immigration at Lak Si, and obtained a three-month Non-O, which needs to be renewed for a one-year Non-O on August 17. All good. Since I entered Thailand on April 30, I should file a 90-day by July 29. I visited Immigration at Lak Si today, Jul 23, to submit my 90-day. Immigration told me that I need not submit a 90-day till I renew my Non-O on August 17. This confuses me since I thought the date to submit a 90-day was independent of the date to renew my Non-O. Is this just because it is my first 90-day after entering the country on a tourist visa and converting to a Non-O?
  4. Any suggestions for a company that tests and certifies for learning disabilities for universities? EdPsych is the only company I found in Bangkok, but I would like to compare companies and prices.
  5. Recently, I entered Thailand on a tourist visa with the intent of changing to a Non-O: 1. On 20th May I visited Immigration to apply for a Non-O visa 2. I submitted my application, and returned on 6th June, to get the Non-O stamp in my passport. 3. The Non-O in my passport expires on 27th July 2025. Immigration told me today to return before 27th July and get an extension, using the L lineup. I assume I need to complete some form to extend my Non-O on the 27th, will it be the TM7, Application for Extension of Temporary Stay in the Kingdom? Thanks in advance.
  6. I worked for about 25 years in Australia and about 5 years in the UK, where I was born. Because I retired in Australia, I receive about 5 years' worth of pension from the UK and, theoretically, 25 years worth from Australia. Because my assets are greater than the Australian threshold to receive a pension, I only receive a small pension from the UK and nothing from Australia. Can I move back to the UK and claim a full UK pension that takes into account both the 5 years I worked there and the 25 years I worked in Australia? If I had retired in the UK this would have been possible, but can I now switch if I return to the UK?
  7. My GF has a Schengen visa issued by Austria, for travel in April. When we applied for the visa, we planned to travel between Budapest and Prague, with the most time spent in Austria. We are now considering changing our plans and spending all our time in France, entering through Paris. Will French immigration look at my GF's visa, note that our itinerary has changed significantly, and stop her from entering France? I have a British passport.
  8. My Non-O retirement visa expires in March. I plan to leave Thailand temporarily in early April and would prefer not to renew it until I return. How many days after my Non-O expires do I have to leave the country?
  9. No, I am not attempting to apply online. I am completing the form to take to VFSGlobal next Wednesday (Quote: When I complete the form to APPLY IN PERSON). I shall take both the original passports and colour copies, and ask if they need to keep the original two other passports. I shall let you know what they say. If they need to keep all my passports, I will delay applying till mid-year.
  10. Funnily enough, I did read the info sent already. When I complete the form to APPLY IN PERSON, section 3 says I must include all other passports and I will only get them back when the new passport is sent to me. I thought this requirement was cancelled some years back and photocopies were sufficient. The guidance notes say: In part B, enter details of all uncancelled passports that you are sending us.
  11. The form to apply for a replacement passport asks that I send all other passports. I have three passports. I thought the requirement to send all other passports was abolished, and I only needed to include photocopies of the other passports.
  12. I am applying online for a new UK passport. The guidance sheet says to physically include the old passport. Do I submit the application online and then mail in the old passport? Where do I send the old passport?
  13. I plan to visit Kunming, Yunnan, in a few days and request a visa-on-arrival. I understand that, as an Australian, I can fly to Kunming for a week and request a visa upon arrival. Is this correct? Also, do I need travel insurance or any other supporting documents? Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks DrJack54.
