  1. My GF has a Schengen visa issued by Austria, for travel in April. When we applied for the visa, we planned to travel between Budapest and Prague, with the most time spent in Austria. We are now considering changing our plans and spending all our time in France, entering through Paris. Will French immigration look at my GF's visa, note that our itinerary has changed significantly, and stop her from entering France? I have a British passport.
  2. My Non-O retirement visa expires in March. I plan to leave Thailand temporarily in early April and would prefer not to renew it until I return. How many days after my Non-O expires do I have to leave the country?
  3. No, I am not attempting to apply online. I am completing the form to take to VFSGlobal next Wednesday (Quote: When I complete the form to APPLY IN PERSON). I shall take both the original passports and colour copies, and ask if they need to keep the original two other passports. I shall let you know what they say. If they need to keep all my passports, I will delay applying till mid-year.
  4. Funnily enough, I did read the info sent already. When I complete the form to APPLY IN PERSON, section 3 says I must include all other passports and I will only get them back when the new passport is sent to me. I thought this requirement was cancelled some years back and photocopies were sufficient. The guidance notes say: In part B, enter details of all uncancelled passports that you are sending us.
  5. The form to apply for a replacement passport asks that I send all other passports. I have three passports. I thought the requirement to send all other passports was abolished, and I only needed to include photocopies of the other passports.
  6. I am applying online for a new UK passport. The guidance sheet says to physically include the old passport. Do I submit the application online and then mail in the old passport? Where do I send the old passport?
  7. I plan to visit Kunming, Yunnan, in a few days and request a visa-on-arrival. I understand that, as an Australian, I can fly to Kunming for a week and request a visa upon arrival. Is this correct? Also, do I need travel insurance or any other supporting documents? Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks DrJack54.
  9. How many days after the 90-day due date can I leave the country without being penalized? My due date is Friday 16 August, and I fly out some time that weekend. Thanks
  10. The visa stamp is smudged and the writing is not clear. Looking at an old visa, if I leave the country and plan to return, I need to pay 1,000 baht for a reentry permit. Thanks everyone.
  11. I was happy to pay more for a thorough examination but was not given the option.
  12. I have a non-O retirement visa and plan to travel to Spain this Saturday. I believe I can leave Thailand once without paying the 1,200 baht for a re-entry permit. Can I just walk through immigration on the way out, and then just turn up at immigration on the way back, and my non-O will be renewed?
  13. A couple of weeks ago I visited the dermatology hospital near Victory Monument for a routine check. The young doctor that I saw asked what I wanted her to look at. Pointing to a spot on my wrist, she checked it and said "Old age", which was OK. She then asked if there was anything else, and I indicated I wanted my whole body checked. I cannot speak Thai and she spoke little English. Either way, she was not prepared to check my whole body, as I assumed she understood what I wanted. I suppose that is what you get for a 200 baht fee. My friend saw another doctor there a few weeks previously and had a full body scan, no problem. Any suggestions for a dermatologist in Bangkok?
  14. 800,000 baht kept in a separate account for immigration.
