  1. What is the best place to sit. I thought front row is not great?

Front row is the best, but the first 4 rows are excellent too. Any other seat will have great view, but the closer you are, the more intense you will experience the fights.

I attended this event, was foolish enough to purchase a ticket in the front row for 2500 baht. Fights werent bad, pretty decent....... When you could actually see them, i was in the first row at the very front, vip section 2 seat 12. 4 seats from the corner, when i got there i was thinking great seats, right behind the judges table. First 2 fights were good, nice view, after that went down hill. Elite boxing allowed the thai corners to have 10+ cornerman to block almost the entire fight, one guy 3 seats to the right of me had to get up and leave, he couldnt see any thing. There was a couple next to me, they were very disappointed. Sad thing is the coordinators were standing right there, watching us not being able to see the fights. One time i saw them ask the corner man to move, lol lasted 1 round. After that they had a the roving camera guy all the sudden go stand in that corner in front of us blocking half the ring.

Event it self wasnt bad, fights were decent (what i could see). I wouldnt go again though, at least not sit in the front row, and i know the 3 people to my right wouldnt ever buy those seats again. Really to bad, should be a little bit more considerate to the fans..............

  2. What do you mean very pixellated?

I hope it's not youtube on 52'' lcd TV - that would be very pixellated no matter what you try.

How about Win7 Sample video, 30 seconds of wildlife, it's in Libraries/Videos. Is that pixellated, too?

Any and all videos i try to watch, including the sample. The same computer on xp picture was fine. 22' lcd, 9800 gtx graphic card.

  3. Made the jump to windows 7 on the 5th. So far has seemed alright right. Only problems im having is any videos i watch are very pixelated. Have tried vlc, sm player, wmc and others. With no luck. Only other complaint is not being able to find a driver for my Belking N52 game pad lol. Anyway off to try to find some codecs that work on win 7.

  4. Any more information regarding the the people shot at the market? I hope its not true, unlike some of the young ignorant posters on this forum i dont want to see people killed. Regardless of there political views. I do find it ironic that people are so quick to advocate violence or even wishing for some to die cause they dont follow there view on the current political crisis. Anyway hope everyone stays safe and indoors tonight.

I do not know if you been following the events and posts, but you may misunderstood some posts.

The red mob started to attack civilians in their homes, attack passing by cars, shoot at civilians and finally have killed 1.

I have a feeling other people meant to shoot those responsible for the violence against civilians, they did not mean to just shoot all red supporters.

Sorry just hear a bunch of conflicting reports. Heard some were killed at market. I live right off petchaburi road on soi 5. Few people from the soi have gone to the entrance to barricade the soi from the red shirts. Was watching here from my balcony. The red shirts chased them off with sticks, machete and such. Not sure why the red shirts are gathering in front. The neighbors seem really scared and worried. Just hoping none of my neighbors are hurt this evening.

  6. Rainman, you really are an ar5e and your only redeeming feature is consistancy.

So in your opinion, if someone doesn't have the same opinion as you, he's an arse?

Wow, what a way to look at the world every day. :D

Lol you are the most entertaining poster on the forums. Arent you the same idiot during the pad riots saying all those mindless monkeys who are acting like terrorist deserve to die. The same rainman who would insult anyone that disagreed with your political views. Please keep your comments coming. Gives me a good laugh to hear ***no flaming--sbk**

Advocating violence against anyone that holds a different view than you, cause you are such an expert on thai politics! :o

Now crying and complaining at the use of force against your red shirted unarmed civilians :D

  7. If Abhisit opens fire on civilians, he's gone. He's gone anyways, just faster that way.

LOL civilians...................... You mean the armed terrorist walking up and down the streets disrupting traffic, making public <arrest>. What was it you liked to repeat over and over when the Pad was doing what the red shirts are now??????

Oh thats right, it was those mindless monkeys deserve to die. Interesting how your views change now........................... Thanks for the laughs

  8. john,

tried the "ultimate" turkey sandwich tonight after reading this thread last night.

i like what you are trying to do but must honestly state i found the sandwich very dry and hard to eat though it was better once i removed the top layer of walnut bread.

there could have been a significantly larger amount of tomatoes as well.

no need to reply. just my opinion

I had the same experience with the sandwich. I microwaved the second half of the sandwich, made it more moist and brought out the turkey flavor more. I enjoyed all the parts of the sandwich, just was better to eat them separately. Great value though, will try again when the dark meat is added. I think with more turkey, and warming it up it will be good.

Look forward to trying the bagels this week when i get back. Oh if you like scotch eggs, would definitely recommend having them with there potato salad. By far the best ive had in thailand.

  9. that picture is from the night before the first SoE. that night a 55 years old man was beaten to death by PAD.

PAD apologist said it was in an act of self defence and that the "peaceful" PAD camp got attacked by the team red. the 55 years old was a pro gov protestor.

to prove that the pro gov. are violent the photo above got posted again and again. always the same men in that position on that corner. there haven't been much more any other pictures of violent reds.

that picture of somchai machete is 100% staged and faked. that are just a few actors given brand new red shirts to pose with weapons to make "good" picture. perfect example how propaganda works and how pictures can lie.

just look at the time of the day the pictures have been made. do you see the sky in the background? it is dawn, but not at night time.

you see all the photographers/reporters sourround them?

ever seen those machete boys in action, in other situations?

for me it looks like a stupid stage play with poorly costumed actors.

i disbelieve those pictures. i recommend to take a closer look at them. a closer look you should take at many " news" and so on. from both sides. don't believe everything you have been told. think for yourself!

and even if those guys are real, it can not justify and excuse the murder and the violence the PAD cult warrior practised on the streets of bangkok.

start at 0:43 you can see the man on the ground, between 2 cars. got hit on the head several times.

if there are really such much different group exist under that big umbrella PAD, at least one should had spoken loud out that they condemn such practise of "self defence". but, no. never happen.

Apparently reading comprehension isnt your strong suit. No where have i have said i condone violence from either side, no where have i ever said its an excusable act, no where have i said i only believe one side. Sounds like it is you that is narrow minded when it comes to these discussions. I know you want to believe only one side of the story, take time and look at both sides of the news. Take heed of your own advice and think for yourself! Cheers

Here are some links for your reading pleasure. (I assume you can read thai, seeing as how you claim to grasp its politics better than anyone else on the forums)

  10. When you call for actual violence .. then your opinion CAN hurt people. (That may be why there is a rule against it on ThaiVisa.com)

Did PAD leaders promote peace when they said they are "ready to die"?

Or did PAD guards promote peace when they shot with handguns on Viphavadee Road?

The horse is dead, keep beating it. Or better, open up a separate "bash rainman" thread. I realize that ignoring other people's (especially the majority's) opinions is one of PAD's core values, so I'll leave you with that.

Do you actually read what you write? What next you going to call me a monkey for not agreeing with you? Going to tell me to have Sondhi translate some documents for me? I didnt support the pad in there acts of violence, nor did i deny what happened. I do admit though im not a fan of Thaksin and his proxie government. Guess that's cause i was actually here before he was pm, when he was elected pm, during his complete reign as pm.

I guess as a UDD card carrying member you are entitled to insult and advocate violence on anyone that doesnt succumb to your train of thought.

Let me leave you with a photo of how the reds advocate peace.

    551000011195901.JPEG

To me it kinda looks like both sides arent that peaceful..........................

Regardless of my disdain for thaksin i hope this gets solved without more people losing there life. Both sides are using there people and praying on there beliefs to make sure they have a chance to line there pocket with more money. That's all this is about, to bad the ones pulling the strings arent the ones dying, cause if it was i doubt you would see either side so eager to kill one another.

  11. hey rainman You are really standing in the rain with your comments

My comments don't hurt anyone. But PAD's actions in the past 7 days have ruined Thailand's economy and image. Who's really standing in the rain? The millions of Thai people who have already or will lose their jobs.

Releasing the airports that were never theirs does not justify PAD's actions.

Millions of Thais will lose their jobs because of the closure of the airports for a week?

Of course, Rainman knows all, just accept it and move on

Millions of Thais would lost their jobs just as Rainman mentioned. Whether he is 20,30 or 50 years of age. Does it really matter? The fact that rainman expresses his opinions in a realistic manner does not make him a kid!

A week's action can last for years. Didn't September 11 last for years and years? How many trillion of dollars were lost because of one hour's worth of airplane flying? Come on wake up!

I take it you haven't read his 190 comment over the last 2 days. Go ahead and browse through them and tell me how realistic his opinion's are :o I guess labeling a group of people that don't share the same opinion are mindless dumb monkeys that deserve to die is realistic......................................

Anyway im off to bed, look forward to seeing more pearls of wisdom from the all knowing Rainman.

  13. Things are moving along at a frightfully slow pace. Who would have thought that the airport/s would still be closed after a full week?

I'm starting to question whether or not I'll be able to take a December 19 flight out.

I've also got a flight out the 19th and becoming genuinely concerned. Up to now my Thai friends have laughed off my concern when pondering the possibility that Swampy wouldn't be up and running by 3 weeks into December. Not so funny now.

Same here, we are supposed to be flying out on the 15th to London, doesnt look like that will be happenening. Still no word from thai airways on rescheduling or just cancelling.

  14. Just a small misunderstanding. No one gets hurt. Bullet holes on the van can be patched. If the PAD guards intend to kill the driver, he would not live to tell the tale. Sleep over it.

I think that clears it up if they are just "peaceful protesters sitting around" as some have claimed yesterday.

These are armed terrorists who are holding 2 airports hostage.

Nice picture of the peaceful acts of the red shirts against the pad. Oh yea, forgot you think these MONKEYS get what they deserve since there just terrorist.

Try hard to open your eyes and see both sides arent innocent in this. I know it might be hard for someone that is an open racist and advocates violence used against those that dont agree. I hope the lose of life on both sides is minimal. Just cause someone doesnt agree with me, i dont wish for them to be murdered or executed..................................

Interesting article on the pro government gang of changmai.

    http://thaiinsider.info/space/content/view/12114/12/

Sorry for posting in wrong section. On break and wasnt paying attention. Mod feel free to delete or move.

  15. If these "monkeys" wouldn't be there, the constitution would have been changed in a rush and Uncle Takky would be back at the helm already, leading the mass convictions, closure of all kind of opponent media, pursue with vengeance any opponent figure till his autocracy would be 100% and his rule unquestionable and untouchable, the rule of the self legitimized crony mob, promoting nepotism and corruption! (One of theirs, that I know of, is f.E. nicknamed Miss 20%, why?)

You do realize that changing the constitution would have taken at least another 6 months, right? So absolutely no need to "rush" and ruin the economy. I also fail to see how seizing an international airport prevents the government from changing the constitution. Wouldn't they had to seize the constitution judges for that or something?

    As I said, monkeys.

So now you resort to racism. Bunch of class acts on the forums of late. God forbid anyone have a difference of opinion. Have to love the staunch supporters of both sides attacking anyone that has a difference of opinion.

In Chiang Mai, several pickup trucks packed with government followers drove to crowded public places where they roused the people to take the law into their own hands and attack the yellow-shirted protesters and their sympathisers.

In the message, people were encouraged to find and shut down businesses and shops run by or linked to the protesters led by the anti-government People's Alliance for Democracy.

On Friday night, some red-shirted men forced a noodle soup vendor in Nong Hoy market to close down for watching anti-government programmes aired by the ASTV satellite station.

Lets not forget the PAD taking hostages, shooting into crowds. Seems to me like both sides have some serious issues. To bad posters are to ignorant to open there eyes and actually see anything other than there own point of view. Have fun bashing, flaming and resorting to racism im off to work. Most likely will get sent home early again like last week. Gotta love working at SCB :o

  16. Last week's clash with yellow-arm-banded PAD people calculatedly pointing and shooting weapons directly into the melee in the street

Yes, it was a melee, the reds tried to ambush PAD trucks loaded with their guards and got comeuppance.

    ...

YH, your ideological stand has completely blinded you, just like it did with our late Colonel. Have you conveniently forgotten one VERY memorable Udon rally? Have you chosen to consciously ERASE that from your memory.

plus, you repeated it again and again and had to be corrected. PAD try to ambush and break into a radio station.

that the RED throw the first stones was reported shortly after but later corrected and what really occurred i told you too.

how about to save some memory for that.

As for Vibhavadi clash yesterday - there are reports that PAD convoy was ambushed and iron bars were thrown at the vehicles. Pity those who got caught by the pissed off PAD guards, they are not likely to check for fingerprints.

NO, forget it. that was just the first kneejerk style of apologizing what happend.

it was an ambush planned by the PAD. try to break into a taxi radio station. read here.

    http://www.bangkokpost.com/breaking_news/b...s.php?id=132291

People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protesters on Tuesday evening clashed with a group of pro-government taxi drivers on Vibhavadi Road, which left at least 11 injured. Two of the taxi drivers suffered gunshot wounds.

According to the police, the PAD demonstrators attempted to break into the Khon Rak Taxi (Taxi Lovers) radio station on Vibhavadi Road, Soi 3, but a group of taxi drivers prevented them. As a result, both sides exchanged blows and threw things at each other until more than 60 policemen arrived to settle the situation.

did you see in the video?

    watch here again

did you see how PAD fired with guns from the loudspeaker truck? that is attempted murder. did you see how they destroyed the moto bike?did you see all those gangsters in rage there with clubs on the street? how they confront the camera man, stop him to do his filming? how they catch one moto cyce taxi driver and hold a long knife on his throat? another case of scum action from the violent and armed PAD thugs. how sick one must be trying to justify this? sick and disgusting. PAD are SCUM. puke on them.

no pity with them if they have to face police force.

and what happen in Chiang Mai, i ask a couple of times, if someone have reports about it and can gave me a link to it. keep in mind that it wouldn't be the first time that updates show incidents in an other light then the first reports suggested.

    http://www.thailandoutlook.tv/toc/ViewData...?DataID=1010826

But we all know the pro government red shirts would never resort to violence, we know for a FACT the pad are dropping grenades on themselves to get sympathy for there cause. We know thaksin is innocent of all crimes before he was pm, while he was pm, and we know for a fact when he said he was no longer involved in politics it was true. All hail Lord Thaksin and pray for his safe return to save us with his generosity.

    :o

I'm more concerned with the loss of life on both sides. It is sad to see people that truly believe in there cause being sacrificed for the SELF SERVING bastards on BOTH side's whose only concern is lining there pockets with more money.

  17. Nice to see the PAD guys on national TV abducting a guy and driving away in a car with false red cross decals.

Lot's of women and children enlisted but just like the Muslim extremists, it's just handy to have them as a major part of the 'human shield'. Tactics first employed by a failed and executed despot but just as deplorable.

PAD said they would relinquish Government House when Samak stepped down. They didn't.

The PM has offered direct negotiations. PAD refuses to open a dialog.

Decent folks these PAD leaders, eh?

You PAD supporters deserve all the sh!t that is coming down on your heads.

Yes, almost as nice as seeing a bunch of red shirts pull an elderly man from his car, beat him tell he is unconscious then proceed to execute him by shooting him in the head.

Thaksin said he wasn't involved in politics anymore. LIE

Police continue to let the astv station get attacked.

Police lie about the weapons they used on oct 7 to disperse the crowd. Police try to cover there tracks by saying the people blew themselves up, even after the evidence showed them to be lying.

    Great government you have, eh?

  18. Thought #1: Sondhi says they will shoot back at police. I think that clears it up if they're armed or not. This is an armed hostage taking of the airport. Will someone wake up?

Thought #2: 100,000 tourists who can't leave now. This may grow to 300,000 by Monday. Thailand, grow up. Do something.

I noticed you are quite concerned with the lack of action against the pad, which you obviously hold quite a hatred for. Just wondering if you feel the red shirts in changmai that pulled a elderly man from his truck, beat him tell he lay Unconscious then proceded to execute him with a shot to the head should also be held accountable. Oh by the way rumour has it police there just sat and watched........................... Yea only the yellow shirts have broken the law :o Thank god we have Supreme lord ruler thaksin to save us all

  19. Thaksin urged his supporters to “protect democracy”: “If you protect Democracy you may be painful for a while, but if you allow dictatorship to take over Thailand you are going to have a nightmare for your whole life.”

    interesting thought me thinks

As interesting as him saying thai people must respect the law. Hopefully he takes his own advice and respect's the law, instead of trying to rewrite it when it doesn't go his way. Just sad to see people die on each side just so a select few can line there pockets with more money.

  20. Can anyone confirm calls I have had that the Army are mobilising around BKK ?

i live quite near phayathai BTS and earlier there were loads of police and emergency vehicles racing past here, in fact for 2 days now i have heard loads of sirens.

I live right off the phayathai bts station. I can see soldiers on each side of the road. From my house i can see at least 10 on the road. I will go have a look at the station in a bit and see how many are up there. Last night only saw 4 or so soldiers. No weapons, just big walkie talkies.

  21. Only 4 more days on my download for fallout 3 lol. So was the game any good. I remember having alot of fun on the first computer game many years ago. Hoping this is as fun.

  22. I've been banned for a year now but not missed live much as I play PS3 if I want to play online (which is free to play)

A few games have had updates since then and all went through ok

MS will change their deshboard next month and I expect this will make it's way onto game DVDs shortly after. No word yet if this has extra protection etc

Yea im not worried about being banned, just was worried that it would some how brick the machine. Havent heard of that happening, but with the new dashboard wouldnt suprise me. Figured i would ask first.

Just waiting for my order of Fallout 3 to come in.

  23. I bought a xbox 360 elite last month. Havent had much time to mess around, but when i first got it i set up xbox live, downloaded a few themes and what not. Its a modded machine so i didnt try playing any games on it, but now when i turn on to watch hd dvd movies or play my copied games i get the message i need to do a console update, if i dont do it i cant connect. So my question is , can i do the update without worry of bricking my machine. Not to worried about being banned from xbox live, just dont want the console to get bricked. Bought it for fallout 3 and few games coming out later this year.
