I think all you DIY aircon cleaning experts are totally crazy.
I can relate to the aircon experts, grollies. Do you really want to gather the maintenance crew to stare into space for the best part of your holiday for something that could just as easily be done by one's self?

The have qute hairy ladies there, for those who like that. Makes me think of From Dusk to Down. Loved that movie. Selma Hayek? OFMG.
I love a hairy canary, but still not enough to make me visit.

I am forwarding all related info to my friend to read and decide his options... personally i think he is conned and stands a good chance at getting hurt if he pursues this.
One thing's for sure, unless your 'friend' is a masochist, then he won't the same mistake again. A good lesson in life and the bar scene is definitely not a place to make money. Please inform him that he'd make more money with his wife / girlfriend cooking up 40 baht roadside noodles dishes. Pad Thai at 45 baht if it's really good.

Laos is a communist hell hole, probably the most boring country in the world I've ever visited.
Nothing to do, no bars, no nightlife, no decent food.
You do a disservice to Laos in your analysis, MaeJoMTB. It's actually worse than that.
Wouldn't return to the stinking commie pit that's Lao if my life depended on it.

He has a legal contract agreement for his shares. i have seen it
Could it go belly up and your 'friend' is also liable for any unpaid debts? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

The absolute majority of snakes are just passing through. Kill them and another one will be along shortly anyway. So killing them is just a waste of time and you do put yourself in some danger by challenging one.
I've seen many dangerous snakes up close and personal and they really aren't a threat, honestly. They've got no beef with you if you cared to notice and educate yourselves.
A huge python under the decking is another thing altogether and that's the time to call in a specialist.
