  1. Originally an expat is holding a 1 year extension of marriage visa, registering under his spouse's residence in CM.

They are relocating to Bangkok staying in a rented house.

Can he report 90 days notification in Bangkok? His extension of marriage visa given by CM Immigration is still ongoing.

How does he need to do?

  2. Guess that the authority needs to review this regulation. Someone genuine case with wife and family settling in Thailand, building up their future. Indirectly they are also generating income for Thailand.

Some landlords do not wish to provide personal information due to various reasons. This is understandable when landlord and tenant are not acquainted with each other.

Perhaps they may allow a letter of confirmation from Condo office that this family is staying here.

I believe most of the condo office are familiar with the stayers.

The current law will only force the foreign spouse to apply for the Non-imm O if he can't get documents from landlord.

    Non-imm O needs to leave every 90days.

There are unnecessary expenses spent for 90 days leaving period. (travel expenses). And this expenses can fully utilize for the kid.

    Why are they punishing him?

  3. Any problem solver here?

A person with Thai wife and a kid is trying to apply  for 1 year extension for marriage in BKK. Rented a unit but not able to get the required documents from the landlord.

Have the original rental agreement and all the required forms except the form which the landlord need to sign to verify his staying and also the landlord's residence form. Unit is rented under wife's name.

How will he get the extension?

  4. No need army conscription and weapons because now no war?

Then open your house door wide, because now don't have thief.

When you about to shit, you start finding a toilet.

When they want to shit, shit is already spilling out then start find a toilet.

Compulsory conscription should be replaced by voluntary military service

Does people remember when the public having problems, who came to help?

    Floods, moneylending, emergency crisis, etc.

Did the army contribute to the society?

The army is always ready to protect the nation.

Changing to voluntary military service and you can imagine when there is a crisis. You cant find help like before.

Who you want to ask for help?

They can argue over the debatable weaponries but I don't think they should undermine the army's presence.

Look at other country which owing enormous debt but their creditors still fear the debtor because of their powerful weapons and army personnel capabilities.

No one needs fret if they’ve forgotten their wallet at home and that’s where the licence is. The punishment is unlikely to be applied as long as they can produce the licence soon, for the cop who pulled them over or at a police station somewhere.

What if the driver is at different province from his home?

If the police want the public to accept the new regulation, the police themselves need to set up a system that officers are unable to take bribe and set up a demerit point system/ record system to better facilitate during police checking.

People may genuinely forgotten their driving license at home. If the police have a record system, they can do a checking through the system during check point. They able to see how many times has this driver been given warning for not showing license. They can given a One time/ twice chance for not showing a valid license. Then the officer can decide to fine the driver accordingly. Make it clear cut that arguments are not needed.

And do the necessary steps to prevent police bribing. If the police can ensure a fair system for the public, the public will gradually accept the changes although people will be furious with the harsh fines implemented.

I think public will respect and follow the strict laws provided the police themselves setting a good example.

Not just one law for the people, another law for themselves.

  6. IMO, the amended harsh fines have pros and cons.

The only worry thing is crook policemen will find ways to earn money from the public.

It is a huge disadvantage to the rural folks.

Many are poor folks and when they got caught for example driving and forgot to bring their license. The fine is 10,000baht. So are they going to pay 10,000baht? No way.

So the crook policemen will give them two choice, go to court or pay now.

How many will the poor people will want go to court? Court is at the big province. Not near to their homes.

By going to court, they have to waste petrol, waste time from work, have to prepare to pay for fine upon court sentenced.

Many will rather pay on the spot and crook enforcement officers will exploit it.

In the past, may get 100-200 baht undertable but now the crook policemen easily earn 1000-3000 baht each from the public.

How many people are driving without license up-to-date? The crook policemen are laughing busily counting now.

As much as you probably, having read it on 'the other paper', seems true.

P.S.: when you'd need some help to choose a, shorter, avatar, no doubt a lot of help available on TV, 26 caps, wow! 'Alien loving TH' would already reduce it to 15, no doubt others could come up with better, and shorter.

I like to use full capacity on the avatar.

  9. There is article somewhere else which is prohibited posting here saying a Surin red shirt leader admitted switching side. He rebuked Nattawut keep emphasizing democracy yet the UDD secretary-general and other key members appointed themselves to lead the UDD.

    Self-appointed = dictator ??

Yet they keep talking about democracy. So contradicting.

Does anyone know more about this?

If you are not doing 90 day reports to Chaeng Wattana immigration you will not be able to get a certificate of residency there.

You do not need a certificate of residency to apply for the extension.

After you get the extension and do your first 90 day report you could get a certificate of residency there.

I read somewhere else that, the immigration officer will visit our residence during our application of 1 year extension marriage visa with 400,000baht bank account.  Will they accept just the condo rental form? Can I just show the rental form for my future 90days notification?

  11. I only have a room rental agreement with wife's name in Bangkok.  Can I get a certificate of residency just with the rental agreement letter?  I need to to renew my Thai driving licence.

    What else is needed?

where is the exact place to go in chaengwattana immigration? Thanks

Can I also get the certificate of residency for 1 year extension of marriage visa?
