The topic is quite straight forward, not sure if its the correct forum though!

A friend of mine recently split up from his partner and is looking to get back on the dating scene. However, to be nice and open he would like to meet a women with the same diagnosis therefore there is no social stigma attahced when people he is dating are informed of his health which is what he is scared of. Does anyone know of a dating group or website which are orientated for sufferers of HIV/AIDS?

TBH i'm not that hopeful either, however, unoffical comments made from potential new boss to hopefully rich ex-boss seem to suggest that i will have an important roll to play for the new company added to which my client portfolio includes some big names who do not really appreciate the major company or the potential new boss having had dealings with them/boss in other Asian countries so i do feel i have an arguement i.e loss of business if i were to leave the company.

Plan B is a quantity of rohypnol and a pre-printed contract ready for signing the day the new boss comes..... fancy a beer boss?

Just wondering if some of you longer residents with a little more experience than myself can help me out.....

I came to BKK nearly 2 years ago on what I thought would be an expat package, my own inexperience and ignorance lumbered me on what I now know as a "Local" contract..... This wasn't an issue until recently as the company although the largest in its field is relatively small, privately owned and i enjoy working for them, the boss is fantastic, staff are friendly and have really helped me!

Since then, a HUGE multi-national corporation wanting to break into this field has made an approach to purchase and the boss is willing as it'll make him a very rich man indeed by most peoples standards.

What i would like to know is that if this corp takes over the business, i will be looking to re-negotiate my contract to obtain an ex-pats package, buit what should that include and what should i be asking for??? I'm the assistant manager of the company and my job security has been assured by the would-be-new-boss.... who i know has the full deal, house in bkk, car, allowances and so on etc etc and how would i go about justifying the change in the contract???

Help me out and if it comes about there will be free beer for all recommendations used!

How would you go about setting up an off shore business account through Bangkok Bank? I have previously heard they have a branch in Singapore? Can this be done over the web or is a trip required?

I saw this man outside Central Chidlom around October last year, bearing a placard saying he'd lost his money etc etc..... i did feel a little sorry for the guy as i was reaching in my pocket, then a thought crossed my mind, what would i do in the UK?

Why are you worried? Thai women can very well love a man for his money, they can actually bring themselves to love him, even if he is unattractive and unattentive.

Is it so important WHY she loves you? Even if she is "only" after your money - she probably will love you (as long as you are considered richer than the average Thai yuppie in her environment).

So true, my mates missus undoubtedly loves him for the 30,000 baht of gold every few months, the rent free accomodation and the paying of international school fees for HER children! And this is before he is ALLOWED to meet the family up country.... which he can't do until he buys her a brand new top of the range Fortuner...... which he is taking delivery of today! Oh and he can't drive.... I'd say thats a bargain in exchange for a little bit of ironing!

Burns Night

Can anyone help me, there is a restaurant on Soi Samanchan between Sukhumvit 40 and 42! I think its called the Horse and Rabbit but not sure! not in a position to go and check it out myself so was wondering if anyone knew!

The directions are turn left into Soi 40 and its the 2nd left, the restaurant is about 200 yards in on the left hand side!

As nobody else has replied I have seen some cap logo sewing shops in MBK plaza. Not sure what level they were on or what quantity is minimim buy at least you will get some exercise trying to find them.

There is a good place in Bobae. If you take a taxi to Bobae Tower, prior to hitting the river bridge crossing, look right and you will see a huge purple and yellow sign CAP??????? something or other. They provide blanks and can sew many many in one hour!

I have the work permit and O visa which hasn't been a problem, but what my friend said was interesting as I maybe being ripped off financially.

I was talking with a friend the other day who informed me that there were minimum wages and requirments by employers for farang employees and this was diferrent for each nationality i.e US ex-pats mimimum salary 80,000 THB, UK 90,000 THB etc etc...

How true is this and what are the mimimum standards, or is there a web link throught the Ministry of Labour?
