Is there any England supporters in Chiang Rai who can get England Shirts into the boys. Tweet from Kyle Walker. I am sure he will pay for them.

Well Done. Maybe a bit of a PR stunt but still a good effort. At least the batteries wont go on fire in the cave water.

I am sick of the whole thing to be honest. To make any kind of deal in life no matter what that deal is both sides have to want to make the deal in the first place. Quite clearly one side in this process does not want to make a deal because it will hurt them. So there will never be anything what can be deemed to be a reasonable deal for the UK in this process.
So lets cut the cr*p and just get on with it. Work it out later. I feel that withholding the divorce payments and creating a massive hole in their budget might speed things up on their side after we leave.-

I have been stopped twice as well in the arrivals hall after exit. No search just showed them my duty free. I was not over the limit. My advice is its not really worth it for say 500B.

I would assume what thurien says is that they are tarpaulins made to order. These would cover the load on a truck or trailer.

Volunteer
A person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking.
A person who performs a service willingly and without pay.
Job
A piece of work, especially a specific task done as part of the routine of one's occupation or for an agreed price:
Anything a person is expected or obliged to do; duty; responsibility:
The Americans in Thailand are not volunteers. They are being paid by their government. Having said that i praise and commend their effort. The commitment that everyone has shown is tremendous.

Rick and John have already been awarded the MBE in the UK for services to cave diving and cave rescue. There was quite a few others involved in the UK as well to get vital equipment hot shotted onto the flight with them. The Thais were smart getting these involved pretty much right from the get go and i personally admire them for that.

Imagine what they felt after so long in the darkness and 2 farangs come out of the water, Surreal.
And to other comments i have read. People get stuck in things all over the world. Up mountains (Mountain Rescue), Out at sea (RNLI), In mines and in caves. That's why they have rescue teams. Selfless people. I commend them from wherever they come from.
I have done a bit of potholing myself on school trips (Long time ago now). We were a bit better equipped though than these boys though, the UK is a lot colder obviously so the need to be prepared is part of the teaching. But these things go on as part of growing up. Before the world turned into a Nanny/PC/Blame game place.
Instead of blaming anyone support all the people that were involved and don't be a cynic. Things happen. This is called humanity and caring and the world is always a better place with these types of people on the planet. You could tell by the guys voice he was so chuffed and made up to have found them alive.

With the Baht strengthening so much over the last 12 months. You would think imported products would be coming down in price.
I live in the UAE as well as Thailand. I am paid what they call a Goods and Services Differential. The cost of living difference based on certain products between the US and the UAE. This is reviewed every 6 months. The cost of living in the UAE has risen 6% in the last 6 months. Partly because they introduced VAT at 5% even on food which i find the ultimate in pure greed.
Must be greedy retailers in Thailand i guess. Or maybe the increase in the oil price. This effects everything. The cheese is way over priced in the UAE as well.

Can anyone invest in the Australian Super Pension Fund? 11% is a good return. I am in doubt that you can and the OP has a UK passport.

Its around 6300 B - 700 AED. In my case this works. I will continue to go in and out for work for a while yet. It just allows me to get things set up how i want for the future in Thailand. Not for everyone's situation though i know. The killer was the medical report. I will get that done in Thailand next time.

I did not mean 30 years ago in Pattaya or Thailand. I was saying in general. In my 20's the older Arabs were decent. The ones the same age were idiots and sleazy like i think the ones that you are referring to. I lived and worked in Thailand in the 80's so i do know what you mean.

I work in Dubai currently and most Muslim countries in one form or another are police states. Freedom goes to their heads. I did respect the old Arabs a long time ago and the feeling was mutual. no religious problems at all then. Now i cannot stand the arrogance of these youngsters who have the silver spoon from the sweat and toil of others. They are supposed to be well educated these days but in my experience they are as thick as two short ones.
