  1. You should be thankful the junta did react with overkill it was that saved numerous lives and "aparantly "limited the deaths to 54 if you believe that

In uk our useless government reacted in the usual way and did almost nothing for ages and then recorded 31000 + bodies and no sign of it slowing down yet still 600+every day so which aproach has worked better ?

Now I am 80 years old I often think what happens when you become to old to travel and are unable to leave Thailand and your funds are low. I am thinking about returning to the U.K. well I am still able.

    They shoot horses dont they

But i bet the thais will not be quite  so humane

    Get out while you can

I try to avoid being in public when I know I am likely to be infectious. With a typical cold, by about 48 hours after symptoms start, your immune system is kicking in, and (while probably not feeling great) you are unlikely to be infecting others. If you are really down with influenza, I believe you should try very hard to avoid contacts with others. The very young, and older people with weakened immune systems could die if they pick it up from you.

Well done brit'tim about tome someone told these selfish morons to confinethemselves when they are ill

In my opinion Thai food is much healthier than western food. There are a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and protein available. The trick is knowing how to buy and what to look for. When buying green leafy stuff look to see minor insect holes to see it pesticides were used (in excess). If buying fish or meet in the fresh market look for vendors that must keep flies at bay. I not saying to buy fish covered with flies (no way) but insects know if pesticides are present.

Western food is frequently deep fried or butter added. Thai food not so much. Except for "fried rice" rice is eaten without added oils or fats. In the west we add butter or sour cream to potatoes.

At Big C or Makro there are "Royal Project Vegetables" that are very good.

Healthier maybe but hygenic.....im sure a nice meal that has had a million insects crawling on it all day would never make you ill

  5. There is a two word phrase that explains everything about the appalling  thai drivers and that causes almost every accident (no  maintainance on the vehicle supplies the rest ) it is simply

    ME FIRST

    Whatever the situation is

And until thais learn to forget this phrase the death toll will continue

If the death toll is only 7000 thats good for almost 6 months last year it was 36000 admitted deaths but a family member (police lt colonel ) said it was nearer 54000 in total dead from vechile accidents and over 100000 injured

At this rate in a few years the roads will be almost empty and much safer
