Byron Allen Black

First visited Bangplat in 1968, after having had a Thai lover at the University of Texas in 1962. Many more visits up to a 30-month 'video production adviser' post at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, 1984~1986. Lived not far from the famed Nonthaburi durian plantation. Made a video called WAR IN FLOWERLAND about the Karen National Union that won a prize in Japan. Got malaria and got in trouble with my employer for crossing the border from Kanchanaburi and consorting with the Karen rebels. Eventually cut loose and made aware that my presence was no longer desired. Followed Thai merriment from afar since then.
