With that ruling, we can now officially called Trump a fraudster and a con artist.
What was the fraud exactly and who lost money ??

Cambodia.
The only requirement for the foreign retirees to stay long term is being 55 YO or older.
Absolutely Nothing Else unlike in Thailand.
On entry, pick an Ordinary Visa(can be changed to Retirement Visa valid for 3, 6,12 months through the local travel agents). It costs about U$300- or so.
One good news. It comes with re-entry permit.
So you don't have to buy Re-Entry permit separately.
And their RV can be extended each year at the same cost.
Their banks also offer a lot more attractive interest rate for the term deposit than in Thailand.
I am happy with my daily life here.
But at the same time, Plan B is always in my mind just in case.
Thai government might try to kick out foreign retirees other than the very/super rich in the future.
Hi Borderhopper .
Where in Cambodia did you decide to settle ??

what long term visas are available for India and what financial and other requirements apply to such long-term stays ?

Yes you can enter Malaysia on a motorbike, I did it earlier this year. Here is a relatively recent thread about the same topic with all the relevant info:
As usual it is advised to first use the search function, there is a lot of info on this matter.
Thanks Eisfeld- that information is very useful!!

As the heading says, is it possible to take a Thai- registered bike into Lao ? If so , what documentation is required and how difficult is the transfer process in getting my bike from here to there. My plan is to travel around Lao by bike for about a month before returning to the Kingdom. Has anyone ever done such a trip with their own bike?
On that same note, is it possible to put a motorbike on the train from Bangkok to Udon Thani or Nong Khai ? ??
Many thanks in Advance

I work part-time in the Marshall Islands and in PNG. My earnings are fully taxed in both these countries - although the tax rates in PNG are punitive. Neither of these out-of-the way places has a double tax agreement with Thailand. So it looks like the Thai government wants its share of my dwindling earnings. In PNG the tax rate is about 40 %. I understand the Thai government will claim another 30 %. So, my options are to pay 70 % in tax, give-up work or move to the Philippines. Tomorrow, I will start learning Taglog !!!

From my quick reading of the new tax arrangements, it looks like money bought-in from overseas to support a retirement visa - either the monthly transfer and/or the lump sum - will now be subject to local tax - and be treated as assessable income here in Thailand.

QuoteThe Watergate break-in had nothing to do with Nixon's tape recordings !! You really should go back and read what Wategate was all about !

Rudy started the laptop story before there was time for reputable news organizations to investigate and report it. Even the Washington Post wouldn't run with the story without some checks.
Too bad Trump didn't have someone to throw the election like FBI Director Comey did in 2016.
Are you really saying that it wasn't Hunter Biden's laptop, and all that incriminating information was fake ??

The last election wasn't that fair. If the media had reported on Hunter Biden's laptop then Trump would have certainly won. Instead the media, and particularly social media actively suppressed most stories damaging to Biden , and withheld those benefiting Trump - that was hardly fair.

I don't want to hear whataboutism or what others did in the past it's about now how can Trump do what he is doing now?
Wouldn't that depend on the substance
of the charges brought against Trump ? On that note, hasn't the man already been tried and acquitted of some of these charges by the American senate ? It looks to me like a politically inspired witch-hunt to remove Trump from the presidential race. If that is the case, then its backfiring because his political support increases every time new charges are brought forward.

Greetings
Sometime soon, I plan on travelling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai by train. On that train trip, I would like to take my motorbike with me ( it's a Honda phantom, so its not a particularly big bike!). Does anyone know whether Thai trains accept motor bikes, what special arrangements do I need to make, and approximately how much will it cost ?
TIA

Much of this information is confusing to me. Its hard to discern whether the vaccine information refers only to travelers arriving into Changi and clearing immigration to enter Singapore or also applies to those in-transit and staying only an hour or so !

on December 31, I'm flying with Jetstar from BKK to SGN ( transiting there) and then onto Melbourne. Unfortunately, the Jetstar website doesn't have much information on transit requirements , instead referring travelers to the Changi Airport site. Unfortunately again, the Changi website isn't that easy to follow. As for the Australian Border Force site, it is a complete disaster. One section says that Australian citizens are free to return, with few restrictions. Another section within the same ABF site, mentions submitting an applicating advising of travel date, and health status. However I was not able to access the application form, even though I tried many times. Has anyone had more success than me?

Singapore Airport Transit Requirements
On December 31, I will arrive into Changi on my way to Australia. On arrival, I will spend an hour in the transit lounge before boarding my onward flight to Australia. I am unsure of what travel documents ( or heath clearance certificates) I will need for flying into Changi or for my stay in the transit lounge. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the current requirements s are !!
Many thanks in Advance !!

Next you will be telling me that the "Big Guy" is as bright as a button and switched-on to World affairs, rather than the elderly, bumbling , aging buffoon I see daily on TV. The guy is clearly senile - how could he possibly think about running for a second term. Come to think of it, your Joe would have trouble running to the bathroom !!
Much of the data has already been authenticated - just read the book "The Laptop from Hell "
