To the best of my knowledge no farang has ever won one of the top lottery payouts...Not a single time....At least in the last 20 years, and very possibly in entire history of the Thai lottery....

I have been in Thailand for 9 years now and I used to think the same thing. Until my farang friend from the USA won the Thai lotto jackpot last year. He used his winnings to purchase a house and buy himself a new pickup. From that point on, I have been playing the lotto every month. So far I have only won twice and won a total of 6,000 baht. I know it's pure luck but I like playing.

  2. I have a Charles Schwab account for over 8 years now, all of the time while living in Thailand. I gave them my mailing address in the USA and my resident address in Thailand. I went ahead and googled your question, here is what google said:

Can I open a Schwab account if I live abroad?
You can have a Charles Schwab account while living abroad. US expats can invest in American markets with Schwab. The firm makes US dollar-based accounts accessible and filing taxes easier. Checks and debit cards denominated in USD can be used, and there are no fees for ATM transactions anywhere

  3. I transfer every month (9 years) from Chase Bank in the USA here to Bangkok Bank by swift and they charge a FLAT fee of $40, no matter what the amount is. I transfer it in dollars, so that when it arrives here the bank code is FTT. Which means it was transferred from outside of Thailand. If I transfer in baht, then the bank puts a different code which means it was a domestic transfer, which is what I don't want. As then I have problem with immigration when it comes time for my retirement extension. I have always receive decent exchange rates.

Easy answer for your question. STOP PLAYING DOCTOR AND GO AND SEE A REAL DOCTOR ASAP...

  5. I don't buy computers, laptops, tablets and so on from Lazada or online. I like to go directly to a computer store and buy one. I like the hands on part of it. Then I can check it out and make sure it is what I want. They can answer all of my questions right there. I have picked up some real good deals. Everyone to their own thing.

  6. I say RENT and don't buy. The only time I would buy in Thailand is if I was going to leave my place to my Thai wife or girlfriend. It usually takes over 10 years before you even break even. Also if you want to sell it years later you will not make a profit, as no one wants a "used" condo when there are so many brand new ones on the market. So rent and you will have more freedom to move whenever you want to a better area.

  7. As you can see, there are so many different reasons from everyone on why did she lose? To me it came down to only one thing. She wasn't presidential material. She first ran for President, against Biden and several others and she was one one the very first to lose out and had to quit her run for President. Why Biden picked her for his Vice President, no one knows why, as she was useless in that job. When you compare her with other women who ran for President over the years, there is no comparison. Hillary Clinton and Nikki Haley has bigger "balls" then Harris will ever have. The political world is a man's world and for a women to succeed in it, they have to have some really big balls. Harris does not...  That's why she lost.

Your VA Disability is a Govt Pension and can not be taxed by Thailand per the DTA.

I am sorry but you are wrong. VA Disability is just what it says it is: disability. Govt Pension is just that, a pension. Two totally different things. The VA Disability is not taxed by the Thai Govt or even the USA. Whereas, some pensions are taxed and some are not. You would have to check the DTA.
