Easy answer. Because Elon's design was based on British cave expert diver Stanton who had dived the route, found the kids, and subsequently encouraged Elon to develop the sub.
And if someone died would it mean almost certainly it was the incorrect one? All we know is it was a judgement call and thankfully, it worked. Certainly it was risky and the chances of 100% survival was never guaranteed from any of the available options.
An unproven rushed out sub being a much more risky choice and possibly of limited use given the tight turns.

Why should they be considered as Famous ? They did something that was potentially dangerous, some would say it was a stupid idea to go in the cave, and they got caught out by the water and nearly died a slow death. That is NOT how you become famous. Too many media outlets, mainly TV, like to portray people as "Famous" or a "Celebrity" When they have really done nothing worthy.
The media is desperate to gain publicity out of human survival stories. The Phuket disaster is a much bigger story yet hardly a mention by foreign press.

It gets even weirder. Shortly before, Musk mentioned in a tweet that the British diver was living in Thailand - calling it "suspicious". I wonder how the "authorities" here will digest this?
He is insulting 70m Thais.

Methinks Mr. Musk is schooling Mr. Unsworth in the true nature of a "P.R. stunt".
?It's just rough sledging used on the sporting field and will only hurt Musk, hence the deletions.

You really are struggling to read my posts, or just interpreting them as you want to aid some imagined argument.
I neither promote or agree with what the guy says. I merely pointed out that there are always arguments out there for both camps.
I'm done trying to make my point with you. As I have repeatedly said, do your own thing but please don't preach "facts" that aren't facts...
See ya...
You quoted the site so own it.

Like I said pal, you make you're own choices...
Everyone in the selling health products business is there for your business, not your health..
You do what you gotta do...
Yet you promote what he says. On his site he also attacks garlic.

I see he's a Paleo promoter. Those guys are quacks.

Never heard of him.

It doesn't matter.... The fact is, there is always some report, somewhere that will contradict what you have read in another report.
That was just a quick search, I can find lots more..
However, I'm not for or against the promotion of supplements, I just choose not to buy into it.
I get plenty of protein, carbs and fats from my normal diet. I like food, not pills/powders ?
Of course it matters. No surname, no qualifications.
Who takes diet advice from unknown sources?
Apparently some do.

There's always another research that will contradict another...
You decide for yourself..
That was written by "Eirik".
Who is Eirik?

Simple answer is to close all wet caves during rainy season. Any cave that has passages too small to walk through should be closed or have the passages blocked off. Any cave deeper than say 500 metres ,as an example, should only have guided tours. And they must all be one price only tickets !
One price is a dream. They make a fortune off double pricing.

Depends what research you read. As with everything health related, there s always different arguments, for and against...
That's why it's often confusing to work out what's best.
I stick to a reasonably healthy diet, varied but consistent exercise and don't bother with supplements/potions ?
Each to their own.. I just want to be fit enough to run a 10km race whenever I choose to do so... Or ride a 50km route for fun..
For building muscle it's a good product. Research shows this. It is ideal just before and after workouts as it gets absorbed quicker than standard foods.

Some 70 people die every day on the Thai roads. Its a disgrace and a national tragedy. But here we are discussing safety in caves of which there has been one incident in 30 years. There is none so blind as those that will not see.
Correct, you can drive for an hour and see hundreds (if not thousands) of people driving in a reckless manner everyday of the week. Many going 50kph over the limit and no one to stop this.

Perhaps he was building subs for a while and this was just a smaller version rushed out. The idea of small subs for rescue isn't bad, just need proper pr and appropriate uses. Grown men shouldn't be talking like that on twitter.

People shouldn't be rewarded for endangering the lives of others. New signs should be placed outside dangerous caves with heavy fines for entering without permits or guides.

Wrong. Elon is going to prove people like you wrong and Vern a liar. Elon said:
"You know what, don’t bother showing the video. We will make one of the mini-sub/pod going all the way to Cave 5 no problemo. Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it."
Shots have been fired! I'll get the popcorn.
It's too late already. Clear PR stunt. People can read up on his family and make up their own minds on morals.

The unfortunate truth, that many of us farang delude ourselves into rebutting, is that people (especially foreigners) affiliated with Thailand are given a poor reputation globally. Everyone is suspicious of farangs who end up here. And, without judging Vern, his interview (assuming it's not editorialized) lacked tact and potentially sheds some light on his character and education level. Who would tell Elon Musk to "shove it up his #$$"?
Many of us won't accept that Thailand is not well-regarded by outsiders (for mostly good reasons). I avoid telling anyone that I have been based here as not doing so would open me up to unnecessary attacks.
More criminals in the US. If people have the wrong presumptions about Thailand that says more about their thoughts than reality.

LoL, the local police scuppered that idea - insisted that I live out of a suitcase in a hotel (nice hotel, but not the same as having a condo or house with a kitchen.
YES! I most definitely want (and will) continue to 'be ridiculous'. If I have time between my fitness activities, I'll visit you in the old folks' home.
I should mention that my fitness program isn't just running 5 Km every day. I do some weight training activities on 2 days, cycle 20 Km on Sunday, do some swimming. I understand that it's important to put some variation into my routines.
Sounds like overtraining. Your legs are fatigued. Whey protein is good btw, the guy dishing it needs to do more research.
