  1. For immigration yes, but I didn't do Thai immigration. I find it very unlikely that my name popped up but the airline staff just said to themselves we will let it slide. My check-in process was not any slower than usual.
  2. Update : Used my new passport, nothing was mentioned by Thai Airlines staff at any point. So the question now would be was it luck, as in the staff did know of the blacklist but let me fly, or was there no indication of the blacklist. I would assume the latter. Either way I made it through. Thanks again for all the advice
  3. Thanks for all these replies. I will update this thread on Saturday. It's going to be interesting.
  4. Thanks for the reply, and yes maybe a call would be good. Yeah, it's one of those grey-area topics. I will post again once this is done. Im assuming the worst case is that I am denied check in, which then just means booking another flight. I cant see there being a situation where they allow me on the plane but then have a problem in the transit area in BKK If there is a problem then it will be at check in.
  5. Thanks for the reply. Well this is the thing, the passport is different, the linkage with the airline would have to be name and DOB.
  6. Thanks for the reply. In this case I would just wait in no mans land for as long as needed.
  7. G'day folks. Question about a transit in BKK if I can......... At the moment I am blacklisted from coming to Thailand (thankfully only 1 more year to go) and spending some time in Laos and Cambodia. I want to fly from Vientiane to Frankfurt with Thai Airways via BKK. The connecting flight is 1 ticket, with the luggage being put through to the second flight, and the time in transit is only about 2 hours. Logically I can't see any problem going through BKK as I'm not doing any immigration, however, I've heard stories about airlines possibly seeing blacklists and refusing check-in. Has anyone heard of this or does anyone think I would have other problems going through BKK? Its also worth noting that my current passport is not the one with the blacklist in it, so there wouldn't be anything physically in the passport to see, however as mentioned I'm worried about whether airlines can see the data. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi guys, I'm in Pakse now and already used up my 2 extensions on a tourist visa. An expat here told me that Salavan immigration used to issue a 3rd extension on visas. Has anyone heard of this and are they still doing it ? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks, the only reply that actually answered my question !
  10. This was my question ???? 'I am wondering if anyone has experience of sending brands new technology to someone in Thailand ?.' If so 'Does the package get held at a local post office for the duty to be paid ?'
  11. Good evening, Im back in the UK for a bit and want to send my wife a new Samsung Galaxy. I assume customs are going to charge a duty, i think its 7% of the value given in the documents attached. I am wondering if anyone has experience of sending brands new technology to someone in Thailand ? Does the package get held at a local post office for the duty to be paid ? Thanks
  12. Thanks, yeah its a direct flight so looks like the airline's policy is whatever the destination point's policy is.
  13. Hi guys, On Tuesday Ill be flying back to the UK. Im not vaccinated. Are there any requirements at BKK to be tested before i leave ? and/or when i arrive into the UK. Thanks
