Hi there,
As in the subject line, I have a Guardian visa (my daughter holds a Thai passport) which was renewed in March, and I just did my first 90 day report last Thursday.
My Dad has been taken ill in the UK and may not make it, and it's likely I will need to visit soon.
What happens to my visa, as it's not multiple entry? From memory, is it necessary to return as a tourist, then apply for another 3 month non O, then reapply for one year Guardian visa? Or would I be granted permission to leave for a few weeks and return once I am able?
Is anyone familiar with this scenario?
I would appreciate the assistance.
Cheers in advance,
Andy

One member mentioned that certificate of residence is 200 baht.
In Hua Hin/Prachuap Khiri Khan it's 500 baht. If/when you use it to open a bank account (which is a requirement) make sure the bank gives the original copy back to you - as they will keep it unless asked not to

After my two jabs at Hua Hin's Bangkok Hospital, I received an email as follows:
Dear Sir,
Kindly find in attached file to this email « The Thailand Certificate of Covid-19 Vaccination » of your 2 Pfizer shots vaccination at Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin. It’s a printable version (PDF). You could print or save it in your mobile phone.
We do apologize If there is any error in the Certificate. Please let us know by replying to this email with the correct details. We will resend you the correction certificate as soon as possible.
You could also register in “Mohpromt” application by using the 13 digits id card number show in this certificate.
About the vaccine passport, it could be done at Hua Hin Public Hospital.
Please kindly contact them directly for further information.
Needless to say there was no error, and I have the cert in my phone to show anyone who asks. I haven't asked, but I would suggest that you inquire at your nearest public hospital - the receptionists will usually have a reasonable spoken English ability.
Best of luck...

Agoda and many other OTA's (online travel agents) are still showing pre-covid prices. As per a MUCH earlier post - book or enquire direct at hotels that appeal to you. Even better still, download the Marriott Bonvoy App, join Onyx Rewards, or join other hotel group loyalty schemes and the deals there are even better with no cost to join up.
That's my 5 dollars' worth. And before this sh*tshow began I worked in hotels.
You're welcome

My daughter was told by her teachers yesterday that her school in Hua Hin will tentatively "re-open for business" in November...

I live in Hua Hin and registered on expatvac on August 1st. Got my appointment email yesterday - so I guess the key is patience, as with everything else here in Thailand! I'm assuming you'll get your appointment around one month after registering, unless a ramp-up is on the cards. FYI, my appointment is next Tuesday morning (September 7th). The email clearly stated that I will be injected with Pfizer vaccine.

I received a certificate via email within a week of leaving quarantine, and the physical certificate to my home address about 10 weeks later

Hi there, very happy if someone could help me with my two part question.
1) I'm currently living in Hua Hin, and my existing 90 day Non-O visa expires on 21st - what documents and money do I need to prepare for renewal, and how long can I realistically expect to be given?
2) Once I get a work permit, is it the employer's responsibility to get me further visa extensions (and what kind of visas are those, Non-B?), or would I be better off trying to organise a one year spouse visa?
Many thanks in advance...

You can call or Whatsapp - he speaks good English too. It is a "premium" service though, so be prepared...
PM for info.

Many famous Radio 1 and particularly Capital Radio DJ's had their starts on UBN - one of the most well known controllers of UBN was the late Roger Scott, a long time DJ on Capital, and responsible for introducing London to the great Nicky Horne.
I too worked for a pirate station in London in 1984/5 called Skyline Radio, operated by former members of Caroline, Jackie and many others. I made it into the last years of Pirate radio and will never forget the fun and games, and almost getting arrested twice!
These days, I present the weekday breakfast show on Surf 102.5FM in Hua Hin...

I just came in from Hong Kong on Wednesday with my two dogs on Cathay as excess baggage. But I had to hand them over to a dog transportation company to be taken home (to Hua Hin) whilst I am in quarantine in BKK. I suggest you do the same. You're not even allowed out of the room for the first 5 days, so there's no way you'll be able to walk the dog. Send the dog home (if there's someone at home to take care of Rover for you) whilst you complete your quarantine.

Hi All, I wonder if you can help me. I am relocating to Thailand in March with my family, and have two medium/large dogs which we want to bring with us. I am not using a pet relocation company due to the excessive cost, and have been searching around the Thai government websites but found nothing relevant. Could anyone direct me to a checklist of what's required to bring pets into Thailand from a rabies-free country (in this case, Hong Kong)?
Thanks very much in advance...

Highly recommend Pomelo juice - it completely takes the edge off the Sangsom and you can drink bucketloads of it. No hangover...

That's great to hear - so that means the information I have been given is correct. Thank you both very much for the clarification. Cheers

Hi all, it's not particularly clear how the Thai visa system for foreigners works, but I will apply for a 90 day non-o (marriage) and have been told that it can easily be converted to a work permit. Or is it done in a different way? Just wondering due to lack of clarity, and would appreciate some experienced explanation. Many thanks in advance...

One of Thailand's best English radio stations is Hua Hin's Surf Radio (they also provide a news service here on Asean Now). Available online via all of the apps mentioned previously, or my personal favourite "TuneIn". Alternatively, listen online at www.surf.radio
