Hi
i originally had an non immigrant O-A visa obtained in Australia July 17 and now had another one year extension as I lived here in Thailand since then ...current visa runs out in July 2019 ....can I reapply here in bkk Thailand to renew my Aussie passport which expires in Jan 2020 or do I need to go to Australia ? ..there is a period of approximately 6 mths between visa and passport expiring ....I still want a retirement visa as I want to live here in the kingdom.....thank you helping and I hope this explains enough for you to advise me as I unsure of wether to go back to Australia to renew all but if I can do it all here it would save a trip back to Oz ..
I am getting my new passport is oz but before I leave Thailand I will make sure I have a re entry visa, when I return I was told by immigration that I give the immigration at the airport both new and old passports, the old passport having the re entry then I have to go to the immigration office and transfer my retirement visa into my new passport

i.e. "For retirement extensions of no more than 1 year evidence of average monthly income of B65,000 is required."
So a miscalculation due to exchange rates can be compensated another month.
Presumably all Thai banks will set up a way to provide a letter and statements confirming the international transfers - although there's no way they'll be able to confirm it's pension income.
i.e. "Letter of certification from a Thai bank supported by bank statements showing a pension being transferred to the pensioner’s bank account every month for at least 12 months."
The main problem that I can see, is if they are saying the pension income must be paid directly into a Thai bank account?
I think the other major problem is the word pension, not everyone gets a pension, especially those who have not reached at least the age of 65, you can get a retirement visa from 50 on so what happens to them if they want to pay the 65000 a month. Also many people over 65 can not get a pension in their home country due a number of reasons what happens to them if they want to pay the 65000 a month from other income

Just did my retire extension in Chiang Mai and yes they took the Embassy letter and my overseas bank statements but the officer told me that next time I need to have the 800 in the bank. I got my partner to question another officer in Thai and she asked him if I could do the 65000 transfer into my Thai bank account every month and he said no it has to be the 800 in the bank, so I don't think Chiang Mai are up to date with this new requirement as mentioned in the earlier posts

There is also one going out of Melbourne on the 27th, my stepson is on the Sydney one but the Thai consul in Sydney is dealing with both, cost out of Sydney is $1290 and I think $900 out of Melbourne. Contact is also made thru Thai consul in Sydney thru Facebook. 14 day quarantine on arrival, no doing at home. You have to register with the Thai consulate.
