  1. The Greek and the Spanish restaurants are indeed good (not only for lunch, I have had many dinners there), and so still is Sphinx, the Thai restaurant at the end of the soi.

... and at the end of the soi,Nomad's (not gay), a good evening place for live music (not thai remix). and small Singha 60 baths.

  2. (sorry if my uncorrect english)

    Alex,

    - It's not easy to grow older in the gay scene, if you prefer younger than you, but it's all over the world ; the difference in Thailand, they see many times the man inside you, more than the body. A fat, or not cute man has more chance to find someone because they said "we see the heart"

    - thai boys working together share everything, money, stories, customers, and it's good for them, they haven't easy life

    - you converse in english I think. Is he good speaking, or only the few words the fuc_king boys learnt from each other between two customers (see after, for fun...) we loose so much between the two cultures, understanding is so difficult, and more you want to go, more you see it's not easy to show a feeling, to make understand your means... and the more I know Thailand, more I see their differences, sor far from our certainty.

    - I have a thai bf now more than 6 years, met him in a gay place, but now he live/work in Chonburi, really not a gay spot. When I stay there, no worry about money, but home, I told him no money will come. I give him only to pay his room. All more will vanish for what the thais loves : alcool, karaoke, playing cards... Get money, he tried a the beginning : father had motorbike accident, former boss fired him because he fined him for the few days he stays with me...

    - 15000 baths is a lot of money for a thai boy. Salary, when they have, il 4 to 7000 in the factories 6 days 10h. Be sure you help not only him, but many around... to look like a "sen yai" (big noodle) it's very good for a thai boy : means he has a good customer, and he can help the others, they share. But at least he will tell you it is for the family.

    - you see everything with the eyes of love - we know all that sickness is curable - when your view on the situation will be with the real eyes, everything will be more clear for you

good luck and be "jai yen"

  4. hi

I usually start to LOS from Paris, and airline when I check in verify if my return is in 30 days maxi. If more, they ask the regular visa and they may refuse to board, they told me one time if someone is refused to enter Thailand, the ariline is obliged to bring back the passenger.

I will make a next stay in Thailand for 40 days, but starting from Australia (Brisbane) Could I have the same trouble when starting from down under ? (will fly with British)

    thanks for your experiences

  5. do you think this is fair relationship? what's the problem in this relationship? honest? trust? freedom?

Sorry I'm french, and it's more easy for me :

    c'est vieux comme le monde

autour de vous des millions le vivent

il n'y a pas de solutions, sauf la vôtre,

et les bons conseils des amis

sont comme de l'huile sur le feu

    Braoufff !!!! I try :

a story old as the world

happens the same maybe million time around

    theyre's no solution, only yours

and the easy advices from others are

    like oil on fire

    Mai bpen lai....

  6. Yep, I was particularly disturbed that *all* the taxis in the taxi rank outside the international arrivals are asking for several times the value of the journey I was asking for and refusing to use their meters. In the end, we paid a hundred baht more than the taxi driverswere asking for the 'limo' service because at least their fixed prices were properly advertised - not just made up off the top of their head.

happens for me the meter was not working

gone out to the rank you have paper with destination they can't do anything, take another one

usually around 300B going to silom plus tolls (guess ?) 60B

never had out-metered in the city (but many times with my thai friend)

in the new airport hope they'll have at least the same : going first to indicate your direction then the taxi must meter ; otherwise, take another one, theyre plenty

I remember Manila in the years of 80' before the (new) Mia ; thin on top for withies

  7. really ok with you, I like this good time when you surprise your gb/f, he's showing good vibes with u, but after that, I (we) need to see life around, and I remember I told him : so good to live together one day, in the quiet of a house in a village... but not too far from the city.

We said (in french, I'm) "on croit toujours que la soupe est meilleure chez les autres" --translation approximatly : we mean every time food is better outside.

    No solution ? no !

  8. post-29208-1146650234_thumb.jpgfirst time I came in BKK, I stay Aquarius guest house, soi Suanphlu (have web site) not far from Patpong. Very lovely place in the heart of the city, but now getting dirty and even expensive (1000B) because the owner is out of his business, too bad... (see pic)

If u'r not looking for romance, Malaysia hôtel is cheap (750B) and very convenient, near Babylon, Silom...

Pinnacle hôtel in the opposite, little higher level than Malaysia, good for one or two nights.

Babylon has also rooms for 1500B includes bkfst. Very good standard and funny to take common shower at 3am after dancing and/or sexing. The price includes one entry in the most beautiful sauna of Asia. After all, a good bargain.

In Samui I met an English guy 3y ago leading a gaybar (as we can call that in Samui) named Pepe's. So funny with young locals boys smiling trying to make local show, they give one to the other their underwear. So thai !!! I heard the owner has now a place (hotel, resort ??) in Samui, of course gays'r welcome, just ask new Pepe's or cruise web sites

Phangnan I see nothing but I somenone knows about, I'm interested (Full Moon Party every month is great)

  9. Not wishing to be offensive, but the question should be renamed "Wheres any life in Chonburi City"

I have been here a week now and can see/find nothing of a night life at all !

I stay there because my lover works/family, and not all the time (march and next june) we've rent in new complex Bypass Mansion outside city. Some locals told people (when) they works like dogs, when day off and freetime, it's dedicated to singharbeer !!! but like many men in Thld (2 legals drugs gets poor people for ever : alcohol and tobacco)

I told my thaifriend maybe gay life exists only following white's wallets. Thai gay community doesn't exist really, because they don't had to fight like gays in western countries against old religious christian rules, buddhism is different. Or gay thai life must be so far of our way to feel it ??

About Chonburi, it's the same for straights. We visit some Cburi's discos. Friendly ok as Thais are, but terribly local looking (special music thai remix only).

    @+ :o
