Not sure, BUT if you have a work permit the residency certificate is not needed.
If you dont have a previous license from ur home you need take a course ( I think) + take a written and practical test in addition to 1 hour videao, eye, color test & brake distance test . i'd say at least 2 days if you dont need the course. No idea if you need do the course but maybe 4+ days
In Phuket, Honda Big wing does a great motorcycle course on their own grounds
Thanks PhuketRichard....

Just a quick FYI, had to pop to Immigration to have my Photo taken today, took 1 minute, and had to show the real SCB Bank Book also.
Apparently all ready tomorrow (incl. Multiple ReEntry).
There was about 4 people inside the room, just a couple outside at 10.30am so not bad timing for lunch in the new Central afterwards...

Just FYI I passed all my docs as per the Volunteers list to a Thai friend who has a Thai Agent friend. I'll know in the morning if all OK. I'm supposed to go at 11am tomorrow to get my photo taken.
(Just FYI I had TM30 issues last year, hence why I go the Thai Agent route this year (and last)....

CW requires activity in bankbook on day of application. Most folk deposit 100baht. Not sure if Phuket also require this.
Do Phuket require a TM30?
Again CW does.
Thanks I'll do the 100thb deposit trick too then...

The best for you would be to get some written confirmation about the recent requirements by your immigration office.
Trat immigration requires:
1. original Passbook (submission date)
2. copy of all Passbook pages (submission date)
3. Letter from the bank/Certificate of deposit (submission date)
4. Statement by the bank showing the last 3 month (submission date)
Trat immigration also wants the TM47 together with TM7.
All immigration offices require different documents and are totally unpredictable.

Thanks, just trying to avoid extra days trips to the Immigration Office etc ...
ALthough I did read somewhere the Bank docs, not specifically Phuket, Bank docs could be 7 days old,. I do intend get docs on the Monday, going on the Tuesday, or possible Monday afternoon !

Ps This from a 2 year old Phuket thread :
Copy updated Thai bank book name page and last 2/3 months transactions showing at least THB 800.000.
Signed and stamped bank letter AND Signed and stamped bank statement showing the money for the required period.
( 2 months first time, 3 months for consecutive extensions and both letters and updated bankbook maximum 7 days old ) -
I'm Heading to Phuket Immigration this week, any new/special/curveball type tips from anyone enjoying the experience in the past few months ?
One Point re the 800K thb, So I need :

BM's???
Board Members ....(I meant for their partners)
although aren't there some dual nationality Cambodians/Laos/Myanmar etc on ThaiVisa.com and this would appear an easy Visa option...

Actually I been googling a bit (usually get directed to TV) and looks like the LA (Labour Approved) Visa is the way to go (available for Laos, Myanmar & Cambodia). Then the applicant can get a 2 year Visa, just need to find a friend who pays 50k thb Income Tax pa !
I THINK one can apply on a normal Tourist Visa, any BM's tried this route ?
Cheers,
Cliffy.

You could just move to Mukdahan, and she can visit for the cost of the 50bht bus ticket across the bridge for 30 days.
Then you can visit her in Laos for a $35 monthly Visa charge
Or as UbonJoe said in another thread, hire her as your housekeeper.
https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/652374-thai-visa-for-lao-citizen/?tab=comments#comment-6596765
Hmm think I'll skip the Mukdahan idea but the housekeeper seems an option !

She could apply for a single entry tourist visa. But in Savannakhet she may need to show a 20k baht in a bank. Not sure what they want they want for a Laotian to apply for the visa.
She could also apply for a multiple entry tourist visa with proof of the equivalent of 200k baht in a bank for 6 months.
Thanks ubonjoe, single entry tourist visa is that 30 days or 90 days ?
And the multiple entry would be 2 x 90 days ?

There are lots Laotians, Cambodians, Burmese here in Thailand so I don't see why she would have a problem getting a visa, unless she's somehow a shady character that they would reject. Why would you think that she cold have a problem getting a visa in the first place? Did she do something wrong while here on her Ed Visa? There should be no reason why they would reject giving a visa to someone who fits all the requirements and has a clean record here in Thailand.
I dont think she will have a problem, I was just asking for some upto Info like UbonJoe supplied in his post ...
She'd also heard rumours Vientiene was the place to get 90 Dayers ....

Hi All,
My girlfriend is from Laos, currently in Thailand on a 30 day tourist visa, she will go to Savanakhet next week to try to get a Thai Visa.
Does anyone now if she'll be able to get a 90 day Tourist, or Multiple Entry Visa or ...
Proof of funds required 20k thb or 50k thb ?
Anything else required ?
Any help/info to assist very much appreciated ...
BRegards
Cliffy
Just FYI Her previous Thai Visa was One year Ed Visa studying English in Bangkok...

Morning
I just flew back into Phuket this week after a few days abroad. My 90 day reporting was due whilst I was away. Does the TM6 mean I dont have to do the 90 day report? I've just tried on line (twice) and get the following message eventhough I did a 90 day report online 3 months ago :
For further information regarding The 90-day Notification Report Service,
please contact the Immigration Branch Office in your residence area.
My retirement Visa current extension expires 1st September. I believe I can get the new extension upto 45 days before the current expires. So I guess I could try for my extension tomorrow or next week and I'm assuming this will include a 90 day report or do I go to the 90 day reporting room also ?
Many thanks
Cliff
