What a pile of buffalo poo-poo again, as usual. Yeah.. No problem dissolving a whole party over a few defunct shares, but what about the fact that most (if not all) local media is controlled by these idiots with Prayuth and other dinosaurs constantly getting air time with their nonsensical BS and FUD?

3 hours ago, soalbundy said:"Will of the people", how naive are you? Government is all about deal making and pragmatism, the voting slip in your excited sweaty hand only transfers the trappings of power from one party to another, the present socioeconomic problems don't disappear after the votes have been counted, the civil service who run the country on a day to day basis haven't been changed, I again use a quote from Mark Twain, "If voting changed anything it wouldn't be allowed".
While this MFP win is a step to the right direction, I can't but to agree what you say here. Even with a bit more optimistic view assuming the new winners do honestly drive the "will of the people", there's decades (if not centuries) worth of baggage supporting the contrary and things won't change overnight (nor are they allowed to be changed.. you can play in your sandbox, but dare to cross the line and you'll find yourself in the penalty box).
And since we're doing quotes, here's one from Mr G. Orwell: “If you want to know who rules over you, look at who you are not allowed to criticize.”

Hahaa, looks like someone shat their camo knickers seeing their besties lost in Thailand. Hopefully things work well for Pita & Co and we get a domino effect elsewhere too. Always a great source of joy to see these military manchild -types getting what they deserve.

Looking at pictures on Twitter of the army putting up barricades around their army bases with shipping containers and barbed wire. Funny, I always thought an army existed to protect its citizens. Looking a the pictures online you’d think the army is going to war with theirs.
Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous.. It's even funnier though that they ended up (once again) barricading the wrong place. And surely some dimwits are going to be butt hurt again because the people didn't ask for a permit to change the venue 24 hours prior.

Bingo. Another winner.
The committee to design the committee has been identified.
Phew. For a minute I though that they'd skip this crucial step.
Yep, and it's going to take a while because in order for them to be able to design it, they have to haul everyone along with friends and family (and mistresses) in first class to some exotic location to study how other countries have arranged a similar committee. And of course rinse and repeat for the actual created committee to study how it has been implemented elsewhere in practise. Unfortunately due to the corona situation there will be a delay due to travel restrictions blocking this crucial step of the process. But they are on it, so please stop protesting everyone.

Pretty good recap..
When Patsaravalee talked about how the previous election had 250 senators who tipped the scales and gave Gen. Prayuth power, Parina said “Those 250 senators are not from Gen. Prayuth. This is fake news. They were chosen.”
“Who picked them in the end?” Jomquan said.
“I wasn’t there, so I don’t know,” Parina said.
“According to the process, it was by Gen. Prayut,” Jomquan answered for her.

I read this part of the Thai Enquirer article and started to laugh uncontrollably. I could only envision the many thousands of foreign digital nomads at the keyboards hacking away and creating the fake problems that the protestors are asking him to step down because of. He has definitely lost his marbles, if he believes that the Fake Media is behind this uprising. He is starting to sound like another leader of a foreign country. Manufactured and manipulated, what hogwash. Time to admit your out of your league General and time to ask for a free escape route. How does he sleep at night if he believes everyone is out to get him.
Not an article you want to read while drinking something!
“How can posts being distributed by two hundred accounts be spread and shared to more than 50,000 accounts within hours?” he asked.

That might be a reason why they trigger an escalation now by prosecuting Thanathorn, to ingnite violence and real riots, and to have an excuse for a tough crackdown then. Yellow thugs will be ordered to support this well engineered agenda of escalation.
It all reeks of desperation. I can only imagine how utterly frustrating it must be for them that the protestors refuse to follow their ages old tactics and start a rampage that would justify a tough crackdown, but instead all attempts at provoking violence and mayhem only results in more people joining the protests with their three fingers up in the air, singing songs and speaking the truth loudly for the whole world to hear.
The junta would need an all out riot to even begin to justify what they must be itching to do, but their playbook is as old and obsolete as their mindsets are and their "enemy" is nothing like they've dealt with before.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the COVID-19 situation in Thailand is under control, while adding that once the declaration is published in the royal gazette, officials will be authorized to implement public health policies that will prevent or slow down the spread of the coronavirus. These measures may include fines and jail terms.
Public health policies including bans on (selected) mass gatherings.. No more pesky students fooling around with their mobile phone lights en masse. How convenient.

Thai people and their history are the losers. Looks like this whole thing is actually really quite convenient for the powers that be given it gives certain folks a good opportunity to do things under the radar as everyone has their eyes elsewhere. And I can imagine the smile on some faces due to the Run for Democracy event being cancelled due to the situation too. Kinda makes you think if this 100% under control BS is not just incompetence, but very much intentional..
On a side note, the democracy monument was fenced up and blocked from public access. I guess they're renovating it like some other landmarks recently.

Going public with this smells like a distraction to me to keep the interest elsewhere from things happening at the same time (and probably conveniently systematically being removed from news if mentioned). That whole gold heist case was also a little bit too easily solved considering the usual competence of RTP, but it sure did cause a media frenzy.. Again a mighty good distraction.
What it might be, haven't quite been able to put my finger on it yet, except that it seems that early 1930s is apparently not a good vintage.
