Forgive me if this question has already been answered. I have searched the forums but cannot find a thread which specifically addresses a situation where someone has lost their passport and their 90 day reporting slip, and needs to complete the 90 days before receipt of replacement passport. I have found many threads dealing with each part of this situation but not the combination of both. If such a thread exists can someone please point me to it?
To summarise, I have an elderly friend (84 years old), living in Chiang Mai, who has either lost or had his passport stolen.- His passport contains his Thai retirement visa and 90 day report slip
- He has already obtained a Police Report
- He is in the process of applying for a replacement passport
- The new passport, however, will not be issued in time to complete his next 90 day report even allowing for the grace period of 7 days
- I tried phoning immigration but the staff did not know the answer and gave me a different phone number. This alternative number seems to be constantly busy.
- I will take my friend to Chiang Mai Immigration at Promenada later this week if no-one can provide an answer as to what procedure to follow to avoid falling foul of immigration regulations regarding 90 day reporting. Is there a form he should complete? If so, is this available online for printing?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this!
