  1. I thought the same thing years ago, but then I got used to it. There are plenty of positive expats expats around and funny stories to share. AN presents a different perspective than the popular news, sometimes accurate, sometimes not. Enjoy your stay.
  2. Great idea! Humm, what could go wrong? I mean they never had a data breach, right? Oh wait. If, by some crazy chance, my thumbprint or face was distributed along with other my personal data, that could get messy.
  3. In fairness with a reasonably sealed room and decent air purifier, one could substantially decrease PM2.5. I've done testing in BKK Urban Dance studio with two different purifiers measuring results via an AQI meter demonstrating a significant benefit.
  4. Could you share where to send tap water for analysis in BKK? TIA
  5. With respect, I suspect that nearly every phone is backed up on the cloud. The same applies to companies, large and small. From a quick search: Approximately 96% of Fortune 500 companies are utilizing cloud services, according to recent statistics from Microsoft. This high percentage reflects the widespread adoption of cloud computing among large enterprises, indicating a significant shift from traditional on-premises data management to cloud-based solutions.
  6. Likely true: https://gemini.google.com/app/30b5b8d6ee2378ec
  7. I know one Thai woman investing in this S&P500 fund through SCB Bank. https://www.scbam.com/th/fund/morningstar/fund-information/scbs-p500e SCB has a few different funds, so be careful. Eventually the agent at Emquartier whispered "S&P with "e" means no extra fee.
  8. Thx for Wiki link. I took a quick look. Sorting the data shows the most recent articles as 2010.
  9. The health insurance requirement was 10 months left on policy in the early days (in case that has changed). The easy alternative was demonstrating $100K USD in some financial institution over a few years. So you don't/didn't really need insurance. BTW you don't need any money in a TH bank if you qualify under Wealthy Pensioner with $80k/year income.
  10. I have not seen a BOI LTR count. Best guess is a few hundred. As a new program, it rolled out with fits and restarts. I know 2 two people with "wealthy pensioner" status from the first day or two. A more recent applicant has had a difficult time getting the system to work and phone calls answered. They seem very busy with something - not sure what.
