  1. The Collage I put together below shows 2 distinct peculiarities (one source been crossed out to comply with forum rules): A) There is no downward trend looking at the Government numbers supplied over the past 3 years B) Government numbers made public seem to be somewhat optimistic to put it mildly. Thai RSC (Emergency Notification Center for Car Accident victims) numbers of injured people delivered to hospitals every day are equal or higher than the Government numbers over the whole 10 day safety campaign.
  2. You forget that 10% GST (same as VAT) is put on every product sold in Australia - whether imported from anywhere or produced domestically.
  3. And if there is no trade surplus or as in Australia'scase, the US has a surplus in its favour, you get hit by a 10% Tariff anyway. In other words, every country gets hit with at least a 10% Tariff.
  4. Thailand has been elected as a Member of the Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for a 3 year term, beginning 1 January 2025. Termination of that membership, taking effect immediately, would seem appropriate, to put it mildly.
  5. The above video lists the various cases which require you to obtain a TIN. It includes the transfer of Income abroad into Thailand. The Siam Legal expert did not explain whether or not a TIN is required if the funds transferred are NOT Income, but for example are taken out from a savings account. It seems to me, that the Revenue Department automatically regards funds transferred from abroad as Income. Correct me if I'm wrong - the actual Tax Declaration Forms seem to be void of a field where you could put corresponding data in (indicating amount as NOT income).
  6. Hmmm - did I get this right? His war on drugs way back in 2003 with the aim to eradicate the trade resulted in - in his words - to more drug-related problems now. His solution: repeat the 2003 excercise and hope for better results. Brilliant! Einstein's definition of Insanity comes to mind.
  7. From the article: "Phuket recorded the most injuries (43)" Thai RSC (Thai Road Safety Collaboration Accident Information Center reported over the same period - wait for it - 509 injuries on Phukets roads Numbers provided on the low side .... a major understatement.
  8. Not lies - just absolutely meaningless. Regurgitating over and over that the circumstances leading to the accident was "well-reportet". but refusing to provide an informative link or just simply answer the initial question posted right at the start of the thread
  9. Correct - and as far as The Privacy binding (TFN) Rule 2015 is concerned, Kasikorn Bank is not a legitimate Recipient to receive Australian Tax File Numbers. When I'm back in Thailand early in 2025, I visit the branch and if requested will tick option "C" and comment as you suggested. In addition I'll reference Rule 2015, issued by The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
  10. Dear Mr. Kittirat The elephant in the room - not part of your strategy - which would contribute to your goals of "enhancing public safety" a lot more than your stated 15 points combined .... would consist "in targeting those (who so far this year alone) disrupted the lives of 725'096 Thai citizens and foreigners.
  11. I'm from Australia - have not been told what I am supposed to do and when to do it. I'm nevertheless eager to find out - please forward the corresponding contact number for further instructions.
  12. The EAEU a powerhouse bloc with a GDP hitting a whopping US$5 Trillion? US$2.56 trillion is more accurate, if you add up the EAEU member countries GDP 2023 / 2024 estimates.
  13. And how do you justify calling every other former inmate with a vastly different recollection of life behind bars in Thailand a liar? Nothing further
  14. "That's the only insight that is needed" - seriously??? Because Liverpool Lou says so - let's dismiss all other countless inmates personal recollections different from yours as exaggerated hogwash and never mind the countless reports ranging from respected news sources such as Thompson Reuters, Bloomberg to Human rights watch bodies, documented reports by numerous government agencies and countless undercover videos smuggled out of infamous Thai prisons ..... in direct contradiction of your sanitised version of the gospel truth. And you're not selling a story! This takes the cake! Of course not since you're still living in Thailand - and presumably have no desire to go back there accused for severely tarnishing the good image of Thailand. Abraham Lincoln comes to my mind: You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
  15. https://www.state.gov/reports/2023-country-reports-on-human-rights-practices/thailand/
  16. The actual numbers of the prison population over the past 10 years tell a different story.
  17. A product of your imagination? If not, please explain your detailed insights to life behind bars in Thailand.
  18. And you of course know that from extensive personal experience
  19. Seconded by 39 enthusiastic approvals - says more about the inhumane vengeful and disgusting nature of a vast majority of characters on this site than the woman in question . While a lenghty prison sentence is quite appropriate, there is a reason why civilized countries don't resort to physical and psychological torture on a mass scale.
  20. The post has "exploded" virally - 2600 reactions, a few hundred comments and 1400 shares. Can only hope the family will be aware of this post .... and puts up a post voicing their concerns and/or opinion about pervs taking pictures of their little daughter in a compromising position - once back in China. We might then get an idea what "virally exploding" really means.
  21. No - it is not For further information, google relentless heat in SE Asia - hundreds of reports from the whole spectre of media worldwide. Who to believe - a smart aleck? Think not!
