Hello.

I am already in England but my Thai wife and baby ( British / Thai) will fly and arrive at Heathrow from Bangkok. I'm seeing queues of 3 hours long at Heathrow at the time their flight will land. My daughter is 13 months old and holds a British passport.  Will they be able to skip the queue as my daughter is British but too young to use the e-gates? The usual fast track paid service is currently unavailable.

just an update. Passport office took 8 working days to complete it. TNT were slow delivering my new passport to the UK address because of the snow, but apart from that all was fine. DHL is around 1300 one way.

when/ who told you that you cannot? I think you're not supposed to but its possible

I used an agent for my passport renewal a couple of years ago, cost just a bit over 6k baht I think, that included the price for new passport + a bit for their services, you'll need to confirm the price with them mate, all I did was sign the form where required, gave them a couple of passport photographs & that was it, they fill the forms in, take them to BKK, collect the new passport and bring it back with the old one, easy bloody peasy, also, and this is important, you will get a photocopy of the letter from the embassy to fill in the blanks and present to immigration to move all your Visa etc over. Without that letter you will have a lot of trouble getting stuff moved. ????

3 years ago I had someone take my passport back after filling out the online application form, got the passport back to a UK address within 10  days.  Passport was back here in under 3 weeks, brought back by someone else. I'm the same- dual national in the country on another passport. 

 

If possible send your UK Pport along with the online application to friends/family in the UK and get it submitted and returned to them before being DHL'd back here.

 

Its a bit more convoluted but probably raises less questions if it comes from and goes back to a UK address

I'm dual national Thai British luckily so that covers me. But about the second point yeah I've scanned out of England but never scanned back in. Also I have to choose online that I'm still in England. But it's just so much easier to send it directly ????

Hi all. My British passport is up for renewal. I'm currently in chonburi and it's not the easiest place to leave right now. 

I'm wondering  if anyone has sent their passport directly to Liverpool through DHL  instead of going to VFS at Trendy or sent it to family in England for them to send it to Liverpool. I'll be using the online application and obviously not using the post office check system. 

Also I'll have the new passport returned to my family in England then they'll send it to me through DHL.

Has anyone tried this before ?

I am dual national Thai British born in England. I have a baby due with my Thai wife which will be born in Thailand.

I am wondering which nationality for me (father) should be put on the birth certificate in order to make it easier for them to get a British passport in the future?

Hey if I advance book a grab taxi does it guarantee me a car at that time or does it just send out a request to drivers as a usual booking does?

In a previous post I saw written that it was possible after receiving my first Thai passport I could show both my British and Thai passport at an immigration office and get my current education visa extension  cancelled in my British passport without having to leave the country.  

Is it possible to do this at Chaengwattana?

If I did it this way would I still need a letter from my university to cancel the extension?

Poorsucker thanks for the heads up. I'm currently studying a degree in Bangkok so I'm going to use that to delay it the 15 months till I'm 30 ☺

This is the post I'm referring to. My Thai certificate has all details in both English and Thai, it is from the London embassy.

I'm confused as to what I need stamped and notarized and translated. 

Also to get onto the tabieen baan do I need a full legalized English birth certificate as well?

Could somebody enlighten me to the procedure that dah farang mentions of getting onto my family tabien baan. 

I hold a Thai birth certificate, no Thai passport, 28 years old male,  currently living in Bangkok on an Education visa extension, half Thai and British, born in England.

This is probably a daft question, but i am assuming if i entered Thailand with a certificate of identification, I am allowed to stay in Thailand forever?

Or maybe a better question would be,  if i enter with a certificate of identification, is there a set period of time I have to apply for my Thai ID by, obviously the officials would not be happy if i waited a long time and if i were to be asked by the police i wouldn't have any ID but i was just wondering if there's any specific given time length?

1. I have since been in contact with the Thai embassy in London, England. They are saying as i'm not a child and I have never been on the tabien baan or held a Thai ID, I cannot apply for a  Thai passport at the London embassy.

I know they are staff but is it possible they are wrong as it goes against every experience I have read online?

2. I have since been in contact with my families local amphur, they are saying as I'm over 20 years old I have to choose either British or Thai, so would I just tell them I will 'lose' my British Nationality but never actually do so?

I'm hoping there's still people around that can help me too. 

I'm a 28 year old male born in England and hold British citizenship. My mum is Thai dad is English. I have already got my Thai birth certificate and I currently live in Thailand on my English passport,  education visa for almost a year now.  I am actually studying a degree in teaching so I'm here legitimately. I would like to get my Thai passport and ID. My mum and dad are visiting Thailand next year and I plan to go with them and my Thai grandmother to the amphur office.  

I will be 29 years old and It will be after the annual national service lottery so that makes me ineligible and safe from that as I'm going to be 30 before the next one comes around.

1.I'm wondering will my age make it difficult.

2. To re enter on my Thai passport which countries allow me to fly out to and back in on a different passport?  

3. Were the above people successful?
