Good but you should fine him as well and if he cant pay then jail time. I obey thailands rules so should he. No sympathy from me

Jail time? hes no threat to anyone and he hasnt broken any laws so to speak, to take away a mans freedom simply for not sorting his visa is way too far. Fine him, ban him for a few years too, not 10. He has probably made a life here, why he didnt get it sorted actually probably means hes broke. he can go home, get a job, save hard and come back. I still think 10 years is too much considering he hasnt actually broken any laws.

  2. i can never understand what makes these people take such a risk. freedom is worth more than any amount of money, and if they are that brave then they could make money legit. its just stupidity. crazy people taking stupid risks with their life. just not worth it man. even the thought of being in a thai jail scares me, i spent 1 night after drink driving a moped (never to be done again) and that was bad enough let alone the big BKK prisons. i wont even be around people smoking a bit of weed nowadays, be smart and stay away from drugs in Thailand!!

I am not heartless but my question is simple.  If he had received treatment for cancer in the U.K., why come to live in a country where any form of medical insurance would not cover the cost of any possible future treatment?  Saving soi dogs is not a real excuse to ask for help pay for his treatment because there's far too many anyway (but that is another story).  It is surprising the number of people who come to Thailand then have to be "rescued" because of their lack of foresight and are not being able to perform tasks such as ride motorcycles then end up in hospital because of that lack of knowledge.

mate, that is a rough thing to say, if he had cancer before maybe he wanted to see the world because he realised life can blindside you and one day, as it has now, you could die or lose it all, become sick etc. he didnt plan to get sick again did he the poor guy. if we all throw him a few quid then we can rest easy we have all done something good today. And people who crash bikes, just trying to enjoy their life, you sound like a real negative, glass half empty, kinda guy. the poor kid just got sick, help him dont have a go at him and if the motorbike crashers dont try to ride them then how they ever gonna learn? no one is perfect, life a bitch we all know it, i hope he gets better soon and they set upa go fund me page i will send him 20 quid for sure. id like to think others woilkd do the same for me

something has changed since 3 years ago then because i worked for 3 onths on a B visa, never had a work permit and immigration came to the office they said i was here for 2 months temporary contract and they were fine. so you saying people who come to do a few weeks work need work permits etc, that doesnt make sense. in my case yes i am staying, i called the UK Thai consulate they told me apply Work permit after B visa when i get there. so what am i supposed to do? i think im gonna change flight to be safe. and i HATE keyboeard warriors that guy above me on about thais dont give a sht about ur shares, i was simply giving as much info as possible!! there is always one who acts a div

You need to have a WP3 or work permit already to get a Non B visa once you get a Non B you do not need A return ticket. The airline at your departing country could ask to see your visa if there is only a one way ticket.

You have lost me regarding wanting to buy shares in the company . Even if you own 49 percent of the shares it means nothing! If the embassy may also want a list of Thai employees.

Entering Thai they don’t give two cents of what you own!

  8. Hi

I have my flights booked one way, and I have my application for a Non B Visa about to be posted off. Basically, I will be coming back to work, will apply for my Work Permit alongside my B Visa ASAP once arrived. I have also done this before...i.e. travelled one way to Thailand with no onward movement booked but thus on a B Visa and had work pemit a week later, no reason to book onward travel when I am coming to work full time and this time around maybe even buy shares in the company making me shareholder aswell as working full time.

This Bog Joke guy seems to be doing all he can to make life hard for many farangs, and fair enough the people who arnt contributing but he is being a bully in my eyes, Thailand owes alot to foreigners and we mostly show alot of love to Thailand, I have money in bank, will have money in cash, i have my invitation for work from empoyer and company documents, am i missing anything?? I can remember it was years ago i did it kast and the secretary did it al for me anyway.

    Any help Gratefully appreciated

    Regards

I read that the guy who attacked him had already been charged (not sure if he was convicted or not) for manslaughter in America. If so seems he was a generally violent man and better off behind bars where he can hurt anyone else, Its one thing to hit him a few times, point proven. but to stomp on him again and again thats just evil. he was on the floor defenseless. hes a bully, why did no one drag him off when he had enough of a beating, i read his mates were joking they're all as bad as each other he was probably showing off.

and anyway, if he was hurting the girl then the other girls would have all teamed up, they dont give a <deleted>, stilettos come off and turn into hammers, no way he was genuinely trying to her these girls are mad when in groups

If the relatives wanted to murder the accused, all it would take would somebody to bring a gun to one of these rather culturally-unique re-enactments. The venting, the 'almost killing' of the suspect, the intervention by often almost a hundred police is some kind of ritual, peculiar to this culture that seems to serve the interests of the stakeholders.

For the police, it gets an understandably irate community off their back so they can get back to their normal revenue-raising activities uninterrupted.

For the relatives, it provides a target for their ire and some catharsis.

For the politicians, it soothes society. The last thing they want is an angry, restless populace.

Perhaps when somebody is killed at one of these events, they will end. But I doubt it.

you're right, ive become so used to it after being baffled when i first saw how they re-enact these things and get the accused to point or act out the crime, but its just tempting the already irate family and friends to become more upset and angry. One day something totally avoidable could happen

Obviously the guy in the Police photo fit is the rich scumbag who thinks it's 'his right' to kill her

No that's the Thai boyfriend, the rich guy sending money was a farang who had nothing to do with her murder. The thai guy found out about the farang and killed her out of jealousy. sad, it happens too often, not so long ago a girl was stabbed to death in the middle of Pattaya walking street by a jealous Thai boyfriend that found out she had started 'playing the field' with farangs in Pattaya. in front of everyone, hundreds of people, nasty.

  13. Exactly the same thing happened to me years ago, i had a brand new passport with no stamps in it because i lost my old one, and during the time waiting for the new passport i went into an overstay and then just put it off for over a year. Luckily this was years ago and before they were banning people from re-entering the Country for overstays.

He needs to book his ticket, and get 20,000 baht ready for the airport, get there nice and early because they took ages working out how to do it, as i had no stamps in my passport they had to use the computer. So long as his ticket is booked and he is leaving the country and has his 20,000 to pay they will let him go but now he will be banned for however long his overstay is.

He must buy his ticket and report to immigration WHEN LEAVING that way he wont get in trouble.

well then ...they will have empty malls and beaches filled with power boats to shuttle the budget tour Chinese and Indians to and from once beautiful prestine islands,  .. the diversity of travelers and expats in over...now it is just a steady flow of budget tourists as Thailand is just a cheap'' holiday machine''..and Thailand owns this absolute F%^k up

Khaosan is an attraction, ive lived in thailand for years and i rarely go but when friends visit ist just somewhere they want to experience, alot fo thai people make their living from khaosan. alot of upset locals and tourists alike, it makes no sense

  15. HI

I am due to buy into a company and eventually work for that company once all the paperwork is done with a work permit. My question is shall i fly into the Kingdom on a B Visa and then apply for the work permit whilst I am there? This seems the obvious thing to do, but for me to do so what do I need to do? What paperwork do I need? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The company already has one Farang Work permit in use and has another one available which I will be using, also what are the costs for me to get the second work permit active and what is the procedure?
