  1. Seriously doubt a 67 year old was driving anyway other than sensibly, especially at that time of the night. Would love to see camera footage. I imagine he was driving normally, slowly and safely. Pickup truck was probably not in his lane, driving too fast and ploughed into the poor chap on the bike. All of these articles state the driver "lost control"....what a load of bullshit. We all see what happens all day everyday, Terrible, terrible Thai drivers, most with no license and have never taken a driving test or read a book on driving in their lives. Too dangerous at night, if you have to drive at night, best to drive slow as hell and expect the very worst, wear a go pro stuck to top of your helmet

  2. Drunks aren't the real menace, I don't even think I've seen a crash yet involving a drunk. It's the regular people who are the real menace. They have a basic understanding of how to drive in a straight line and take corners, no drivers education beyond that. The highest percentile of people here don't obey the rules of the road, they don't even know what they are. Start to educate now and also start to implement serious repercussions for those that break the rules. They aren't gonna like it, but that's how the law goes. It's their for our own protection

  3. Thailand needs to enforce Thais learning the rules of the road, enforcing licences. Not just a fine if you don't present one. If you don't have one on you then yeah, sure a fine. But you must present your license at a police station within a certain date otherwise they seize your bike / car. They need to learn the rules of the road and understand that these cannot be broken. They need to wear helmets, always. And limit the number of people on a bike to two. Both with helmets. Enforce the speed limit and introduce points on your license for being caught speeding, fines also. Roads are <deleted> crazy here.

I really feel for Somboon. We should start some fund raising to help him get a good lawyer. Well handled a case like this one could help many of us...

The noisy, shitty, little no hoper is a loss for no one.

What if it was your son? You would have the same view if someone shot him dead for playing music too loud? Prick deserves life without parole.
