  1. For anybody who is really sincere about not being able to find a mask,  there are plenty here: https://shopee.co.th/search?keyword=mask

You can top up Airpay app (at 7 Eleven) or via bank transfer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beeasy.airpay&hl=en   https://apps.apple.com/th/app/airpay-th/id908669202?l=th

You may need your Thai wife/ gf's ID to use Airpay but you can also pay by Thai bank on Shopee.  I bought masks on there

  2. to be fair they do seem to be consistent on their mask seriousness.... Ive worn my half face gas mask in immigration, 'the bank' and shopping malls and nobody has harassed me over it, most people treating me normally.  The odd stare from people not wearing any kind of mask

2 relatives back home have covid but Ive not been back in 2 years

I wonder if this farrang gets commended for wearing a Particulate filter mask to prevent contracting the virus?

    ????

  3. I tried to get a few photos today, we got there at 5.30am and number 111..people were still getting in each others space...i/o coughing and people wearing crappy masks...I wore my P100 charcoal filter half face mask

  4. First off I want to state I had all of the required documents and I followed advice to show only the first 2 months  ฿40,000 in the bank...horrible lady officer immediately didnt want to know straight away requesting 12 months deposit or 400k in the bank

I showed her the police order example from advice on here with the highlighted part and even explained in Thai (Im intermediate having stayed hereat 8 years)

I just want to advise people dont go to Chaeng Wattana expecting the first 2 months deposits will work...we had the letters stamped by the bank as well

3 officers looked at it,  one she said was her boss and even a male officer came over

We arrived at 5.30am and had ticket 111...they were just pointing people to the big hall which had a few cones with numbers and markings on the floor for social distancing....although people were still getting in each others space

I imagine it got a lot worse later and nobody there was really helpful about where to Queue.

You were then directed into a more confined office..attempts were made to space people out on seats but you could hear i/o coughing ...people  removing their silly material masks looking at us in our respirators

I hope they get whats coming to them, just found out my uncle in the UK has covid19

I have til July now to sort out 400k

  5. Keep up the good work, don't feel like you're over doing it... its safety and peace of mind. Once this pandemic is over we can relax but for now we need to be cautious

Everything that comes into our condo from outside gets quarantined in the kitchen and sprayed with 95% alcohol.

Had to go to the bank and amphur for documents related to visa.     Amphur was social distancing and checking temperatures...our condo is checking temperatures as well.  Bank was not checking temperatures....  Wore my P100 half face filter mask to both places, most people didn't say anything, had a few stares though, don't care

On a different note, Texas is 32 degrees Celsius at the moment and Thailand is 34C ...so so much for hot weather killing it off

But you know that a mask like this wont do the job or? Droplet infection also works over the eyes ^^ Masks help that you do not infect anyone but offer you limited protection against infection so better go for a full gas mask would like to see people with them at 40 degrees ^^

Its a organic vapor particulate filter, it blocks covid 19 microns......  its N100.. (100%) unlike N95.  I have goggles for eyes

I would think they will make you take it off for photo when you enter(they asked me to do that a week or so ago) and if they need to speak to you and can't understand you they will probably ask you to take it off ... if you want full on protection I have a set of motorcycle goggles and some kraken headphones I can sell you for the right price ????

I have swimming goggles for me and my wife, Im considering wearing those as well..................If they only ask me to take it off for photo and talking thats still a win, as long as I can wear it around the crowds

The risk of catching the virus in the overcrowded immigration is definitely higher than being caught on overstay. And the consequences are incomparable too.

At the moment the Thai immigration did NOTHING positive to help us all in this situation. Will they ever do? I

    seriously doubt that.

Im wearing my p100 filter mask to i/o, do you think I'll have any problems except people unaware of how contagious it is staring/sniggering?

As someone else said, I saw people out picking noses or wiping snotty noses then touch checkouts in supermarkets

Mr. health minster would probably explain to you that the primary purpose if a mask (alone) is to prevent someone with the disease from spreading it widely in public by greatly reducing the number of particles breathed into the local environment and protecting against explosive sneezes and coughs.

exactly what I said...and it can be transmitted from someone without symptoms so we don't know whos got it so better for everyone to wear a mask

  12. theres so much contradiction going around, the world around saying you should wear a mask only if you're showing symptoms but then they say its can be transmitted if you're asymptomatic so surely its better for everyone to wear one as we don't know whos got it!

Ive got my N95 for a trip next week.. it won't catch all 0.2 microns but will catch some and stop air at the sides getting in... apart from that Im staying in full hibernation

Regardless of cultural conflict I agree with the health minister to wear a mask...  even if its the paper thin one it stops you coughing on other people

I don't think this is true.  Last week Toosetinmyways received an Non O according to the posting.  And I find it hard to believe 5,000 baht for a 90 day tourist visa.  But, guess I will find out Tuesday.  LOL

I agree with you Kurt, this sounds like utter claptrap.... Visa agents like to spread fear and disinfo and probably told this person thinking he was single..not married

Yes, but Thai text only saying that it has been accepted at UK mail.

No indication that it has moved (brought on the way) to Thailand.

thats what I just said, its obviously been lost in the UK...its not even in Thailand

  15. Thaipost responded quickly to my email saying its not arrived in Thailand. I'm inclined to believe Thaipost as Royal Mail didn't even update their tracking to say Heathrow...bunch of idiots

And how clear was the address? Showing "THAILAND" in the last line?

    And the postal code above?

A few months I had case of a letter from Germany that was addressed to:  0 KHON KAEN :saai:

No country, no proper postal code. Took 7 weeks or so.

They always put Thailand in capitals, receipt says Thailand
