Ok Thanks for your help. Yes it is the same as Sweden but income payed in dividends from the UK, as a Non Res citizen, is exempt from tax.
I think, as you advise, seek professional help

Hi,
I am living in Thailand, on a retirement extension of stay visa. I was asked a question, am I a Thai resident.
So am I classed as a Thai resident?
The reason for this question is, I am a non-resident citizen of the UK so I don't pay tax on Dividends from uk companies.
Thai rules state, if I am a non-resident in Thailand I don't need to file a tax return. If I am a Thai resident I have to file a tax return and pay tax on any income.

Thanks Jim, that’s clear, my confusion was, I was never told to report back to immigration, so I never have. So obviously Roi Et immigration doesn’t require that.

Hi,
I thought I could renew my retirement extension of stay. Because at the Roi Et immigration, the last time I reported in that the next time I could re apply / renew, for another 12 month extension.
-
Thanks for that, I’m reporting to Roi Et immigration office. They’ve never mentioned reporting on return, never knew I had to. I’m moving to Rayong soon, I’ll ask what they want me to do, probably go for the multi if the same rule applies to both, single and multi.

Sorry Matzzon

Thanks Mazzini,
i will check when I renew my visa

Thanks Ubonjoe, when I renew I better double check with immigration.

Hi Ubonjoe,
I have a retirement extension of stay. I have a single entry. So when I leave Thailand I get a re entry permit before I leave. When I return they stamp it as used. But I never go to my local immigration office on return just the usual 90 day reporting. They never said that I should have.
-
Thanks GekoSc,
seems a lot of hassle, think I’ll keep to the single entry, no need to visit local immigration except for the usual 90 days

Hi,
im renewing my retirement visa soon, at the moment I have a single entry visa. I’m thinking of going for a multi entry, as I go to the Uk twice a year. I was told that if I have a multi entry on return to Thailand I must go to the immigration within 24hrs. That is not the case with singe entry.
Has anyone have any knowledge on this.
Thank you

Also I’m not clear on, if you are granted the NonO visa, is that your over 50 12 month visa or do you need to do something more.
-
I was under the impression that you had to show you had the B800k in the bank for 3 months before applying

Thank you Ubonjoe

Hi, I’m finally hoping to get a Non O visa from my 60 day tourist visa. I am 57 with the required money. What is the final day on my 60 day tourist visa ca I apply to change to a Non O visa.
thank you

Hi, I currently have a 2 month tourist visa with 1 month left. I was about to apply for a change of visa to a Non O visa and then a 12 month over 55 visa.
I need to return back to UK. I was wondering what is the best to do, return on a 1 month tourist visa and apply for change to O visa or go to Thai consulate and return with 2 month tourist visa?

Ok, thanks again Ubonjoe.

Thank you everyone for your input, unfortunately more confused than before. As I see it seeking professional advice might be the best way to go. O n the other hand, head down say nothing and hope for the best.
