  1. Over the last 12 weeks i have lost in the region of 35+lbs through a combination of diet and exercise and have gone from being 16 stone to 13.7.Whilst being delighted i am slightly concerned that perhaps i have lost this weight to quickly.I have read that if you dont eat enough the body goes into starvation mode and infact you are only loosing water and when you return to normal eating habits the weight will very quickly go back on.At present a typical day diet would be something like this:

    BREAKFAST:1 Bowl Porridge

    Lunch:Vegtable Soup

Evening meal:mixed veg stir fry or another night may be 2 chops + brocolli and Cauliflower

    Dessert:low fat yougurt.

In addition i woul normally have 1 apple and 1 orange and would drink 1 litre+ of water.

I go to the gym 3 days a week and swim once.I also walk 30 minutes+per day.

I am aware my calorie count is low however i have lost weight and am feeling great.Anyone care to comment if they think i am in danger of regaining weight??

    Thanks

    hi!!!!!!!

When you want to lose weight and if you really need it, it's normal to lose a lot in a short period and after you will lose less and then stay off .The most important point is to eat at special hours (morning; lunch, dinner) and to have equilibrated meals and not only during your diet: veggies and fruit, steam rice, steam fish and white meat (chicken) which is better than the red one . Avoid : coconut cream and milk!!! alcohol!!! Delicatessen!! Cheese!! (most of the western food!!!) Drink a lot (water!!!)....!! i would say at least 2 liters for two reasons : 1) you do exercise 2) hot weather!!

You probably already know that but it may help you to think that you are doing your diet very well....i wish you GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!! and you will see you will feel really better... thanks to your diet but ALSO your exercise!!!!!!! go go go go champion!!!!!!!

  2. Hi!!! :D

I planed to stay a few days in nakhon sri thammarat at sichon or khanom to be more precise. I wondered how the beaches looked like (white sandy beach?) and if the water was clear enough for snorkeling. As we are looking for a quiet place to stay I would like to know if this area is very busy during this period. Sorry for my english!!!!! hope you understood what i mean.... :o

    Thank you for your replies!!!!

    :D

  3. hi!!!!

As everybody knows, on tuesday the 5th we will all celebrate the birthday of H.M the king.

Is there any show or celebration planned somewhere in Bangkok ?

    Thanks in advance! :o

  4. I'm in bkk since 3 months and had these kind of problems happen to me only once or twice! (maybe I'm very lucky!!) When they ask me 100bath instead of the meter I just laugh...and say in thai ( I learned a little bit of thai before coming in thailand) my destination and if there is a traffic jam to go there. And everything was ok...

Most of the time, I'm on the front seat because it allows me to remember easily the path (maybe stupid but it's like that). Easier also for trying to talk with the driver. I learned a lof words talking with them.

My real problem with the taxi driver it's to explain them where I want to go when I've never been there. Even with a map...it's quite "funny" because both have problems reading it!

  5. Ok we see plenty of rotund expats eating their hearts out at Sizzler & other western restaurants.

How about those expats who eat only Thai street food for months & months on end, without touching western food? ooh, those juicy tender mouth watering imported steaks, pizzas with melting cheese etc

Do they actually lose weight eating spicy som tam & fried rice & other delicious thai street food?

    Aroi...

I arrived one month ago in bangkok (we will stay here for 2 years). My family and I don't want to buy imported products or eat what you call western food (which is american food, IMO) all the time. we especially eat : veggies, chicken, pork, rice and fruits. In thailand we eat more rice than in france. In france, we used to eat more red meat, which is fatter than the white one. I also eat more cream than here. But, here, lots of dishes with various curry are cooked with coconut cream, coconut milk, palm sugar, white sugar. But here, we eat more fruits than in france!

My husband and I have lost maybe 2 or 3 Kg but my son didn't lose anything! (ouf!).

Sorry for my english, I tried to do my best.

  6. Many thanks for your answer!!! In fact, I went to Yes Rocher at Silom mall but they only did the line for the bikini...they looked at me with a very srange eye when I asked for a brazilian...I felt really bad at ease...so I really wondered how to do....anyway I bought som wax in europe and I will try (this time) to do it alone... :o In fact, it seems to me that I have to make many efforts for the everyday life...so I really appreciate your answer...Thanks you very much!!!!!! :D
