The under consideration stamp allows you to stay in the country until your application is approved.

The report back date is not the end of the under consideration period.

But does like normal police know that I'm actually allowed to stay until my case is still under consideration? Because yesterday I was driving close to the place I live and the road was closed. The police were checking documents and instead of asking for my driving license, they were checking my visa right away. Do they know about "under consideration" policy and will I have any problems with them in case they want to check my document after the official 30 days deadline?

  2. Hello,

I've got a question. Currently, I'm under consideration period (based on the marriage extension), which is going to end tomorrow, on July 26th. My wife has contacted the immigration office which is taking care of the case, but they told us that there's still no information from the Bangkok office about the decision.

In case there won't be a final decision tomorrow, is it possible for them to prolonge under consideration period or put a special stamp that will prove and show that my case is still under consideration?

I found a topic here that sometimes the process can take up to 40-45 days. So in case I don't get a stamp or anything like that to prove that my case is still under consideration, my passport will look like I don't have a valid permit to stay, like I overstayed after July 26th and in case someone will need to check my documents, I might get in trouble.

Do you have any information about it or anything that I can do in this case?

    Thank you!

  3. Hello,

I've got several questions regarding the documents for a 1 year marriage visa extension.

    1. "Letter from Thai Bank certified money in thai account (Alien’s Name) more than 400,000 Baht 2 months before" - what should I tell Bangkok Bank to get the right kind of document? Will showing the requirement on Emigraion website be enough - http://www.samutprakanimmigration.go.th/list-of-documents-for-support-thai-wife-2/

    2. Children ‘s Birth Certificate
My wife has two kinds from her previous marriage. Do I need to attach children's birth certificates, even though I'm not mentioned in those certificates?

    3. I got a list required documents in Samutprakan Immigration center. There's one thing my wife can't understand: บันทึกคำให้การ สามี/ภรรยา

Could any help us to understand what kind of document is this?

    Thanks everyone for the help!

  4. Hello everyone,

Just wanted to confirm: having NON-O multi visa (marriage), if I exit the border and immediately come back the same day in one of the aforementioned points (Myanmar at Ban Phu Nam Ron in Kanchanaburi province, Ban Laem crossing to Cambodia, Chong Chom border crossing (Surin) ), would I still be fine? No changes regarding the policy of coming back the same day at these border points?

    Thank you!

  5. Hello everyone,

I have a 1-year NON-O multi visa (marriage). I’m getting close to a 3-month period, so I’ll have to exit and come back the country. Do you have any advices on the best 1-day trip to make it from BKK?

Also, I’ve heard that sometimes they won't allow you to come back right away at the border if you just crossed it, but it’s mostly the case for those who don’t have a visa at all. Do you know if it’s all good with NON-O visas and whether it’s going to be fine to cross the border and come back right away or is there a minimum one night requirement?

    Thank you!

Be sure you wife signs the copies of her house book registry and ID card.

It is normal for the marriage certificate not to show her married name and it cannot be changed. Her house book will show that she is married.

So the house book should contain the information about the marriage or that she changed her last name or both?

  7. Hello,

Does anyone know, what are the other countries close to Thailand (Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, etc.) where I could get a 1-Year Non-Immigrant O Multiple visa based on the marriage with a Thai citizen, without having a certificate from the bank, proving that I have 400K THB on my account?

I've heard that it's possible to do it in Savannakhet, but on their website there's no information about 1-Year Non-Immigrant O Multiple visa, only 3-month NON-O single.

    Thank you!
