Demographics of guys shopping around for girlfriends from Western countries vs other countries tend to be different: Western guys tend to be older, maybe have more income while Asian, South Asian, other ASEAN countries, Middle East, Africa seem to be younger, still working age.
I've noticed that too.
Western boomers tend to be the wealthiest generation. They make fun of broke millennials.
In Asian countries, which are emerging economies, millennials and Gen Y are often much better off than their parents.

Where are those topics?

Some foreigners also have to eat fish sauce everyday:
Laotians, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Burmese, Indonesians, Filipinos

Koreans are 555 or something like that? 5 minutes, 5 inches, 5000... That's what the Insanity girls used to say when the club was still around. One night as I was walking on soi 11 heard a girl loudly announcing "you give me 5000!" to the Korean taking her home.
They should give Yao Ming a try.
10 inches, 100,000, maybe 100 minutes?
Some Asian men can be really tall and strong. But I guess they all get snatched up pretty quickly back home.
And the ones that grow up in Farang countries are often Farang sized.
8 minutes ago, Phillip9 said:That's quite a diverse group. Do you realize that men from these countries have nothing at all in common with each other?
That's my point.
They have nothing in common with each other, and with Thais.
But some Thai women still prefer them over guys from other continents?

I've heard people say that many (though not all) Thai women prefer East Asian men (ethnic Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino) over Farang/Caucasian/white men if they could have the choice.
Particularly the lighter-skinned or more dollish-looking Thai women, maybe from the North Lanna area or Bangkok, rather than darker Isan women.
How true is this?
If true, why would they prefer East Asian over Caucasian men?
To me, old, wrinkly balding Asian and Farang men are all just old, wrinkly balding men.
Young Asian and Farang men both look pretty good. Cute boy bands are just cute boy bands.
The language gap is the same whether the guy is Asian or Farang.
Other Asians also don't get the weird nuances of Thai culture and social interactions.
No racism towards Asians, Thais, or Farangs alike meant here. Definitely don't mean to hurt any feelings.
Just curious why random people, both Farangs and Thais, would keep telling me this from time to time.

I love blue cheese.
That's why I can tolerate fish sauce.
But I can't understand why Thais can't tolerate the smell of blue cheese. It's basically the cheesy version of fish sauce.

A 19yo Pinup agogo girlfriend, broke her heart when i kicked her out, tough love
Sarcasm, or did an agogo girlfriend really have her heart broken?
After all, believe it or not, working ladies can still fall madly in love and get broken hearts.

That was a wild chase Simon!
Anything can happen in LOS. Every now and then out of the blue, I hear crazy stories like this in Thailand.

Take it easy on yourself mate. You've got this.
Find a good friend to talk to at one of those support groups or organizations before it's too late.
Don't be ashamed of getting started. You'll meet others going through the same journey.
Stay strong and don't give up! Life can be more meaningful than this.

Hey guys,
Men and women are all humans.
Some foreign men have broken Thai women's hearts. I've heard quite a few sad, moving stories of Thai women having their hearts broken and ripped to shreds.
What makes you think that all Thai women are emotionless money-leeching reptiles?
Have you ever heard Thai love songs? Especially when sung by Thai women who obviously think about their heartbroken past while singing those songs?
Haven't you heard Thai women talk about the pain of being abandoned by men whom they had really loved?
Going through some of these replies, it seems like some of us farang men are actually the emotionless reptiles.

Back home, nearly everything and alot of people were very predictable. Not here. And it keeps life fresh and unpredictable, and that is a very good thing. At least for me.
I continue to insist that Thailand is NOT a foreign country. It is a distant planet, and is less Westernized than most countries. I love that.
Glad to see a forum member here actually enjoying Thainess.
So refreshing to see this vs. all the other Thai bashing posts.

Thais, whether men or women, move on more easily because they have a cyclical view of the world. They believe that everything constantly comes and goes. Once something is gone, then it will come back again in another form. Birth and re-birth, reincarnation, that kind of stuff.
The Thai perspective on life is radically different from what you'd see in the West.

Yes, a few. One of which will haunt me to the end of my days.
Not marrying a girl, however is not a valid way to break a heart. Unless you mean duming a girl at the same time as not marrying her?
*hugs*
Why does it still haunt you?

Sometimes it's also the other way around. It's not just middle-aged farangs having their hearts broken by young bar girls.
Maybe we were the ones who cheated on them or dumped them for someone else when they genuinely loved us.
Maybe we didn't marry them when they really wanted us to do so.
Any stories?

Poll results so far:
12/72 or 16.67% are older woman, younger man couples.
Not the majority, but it's more common than what some of the posters here would expect!

Thai singer Sunaree Ratchasima married a Dutch toyboy 21 years younger than her.

I've met a few older Thai woman, younger foreign man couples lately (both Thai-Caucasian and Thai-Asian).
Lovely couples.
I don't mean like 2-3 year age gaps (that's practically the same age), but like 10, 15, 20+ age gaps. Generational gaps.
Not judging anyone. Everyone's happy, so why not.
Have you seen any of these couples too?
What are their stories?
How common are they?

Yeah, gen Z losers.
But I can imagine that the older ladies are constantly paranoid and thinking "Is this young stud going to ditch me for a younger lady?" So they take care of their looks and behave well.
Guess these younger gen boys are really the winners instead?

Yes, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates would be mistaken for poor stingy Farangs!
