Hmmm, I am told that there is Forex trading via Dubai returning 10% a month. Seems to be working but my financial radar is beeping warnings. Anyone have any information?

No, but you cAn do this with  a n y  reputable CFD Broker. IC Markets or whatever. But it's highly risky, speculative and if you get it right, it will be a lot more than just 10%.

OTOH, no one can or should bamboozle you into tinking that it will like "on auto pilot".

5 pdq. Wanna give it a try?

When running M$ OS (i.e. Windows 10), you previously have accepted the fact that you will not use your computer; M$ will.

Let the system update, ad infinitum, until it is ready for your use (should be a microsecond or two, before the next update cycle).

P.S. I use Kubuntu Linux on my laptop. I also have a Windows 10 VM. I was surprised that recent updates took less than an hour. I use the VM, if I'm unlucky, about once every 6 months.

Yeah, LINUX can boot from a memory stick. Bloatware sucks. (Am using an old Thinkpad X-131 E Chromebook. Bought it on Ebay for $ 50. it will boot in 7 seconds and power down in less than 2 seconds.

My suggestion to him would be to go to Vietnam to teach.  They have a propensity to learn English there as they realize the importance to be competitive entails learning English. The pay is also much better in Vietnam.

Be warned - Vietnamese are OCD when it comes to money matters (and the traffic is much worse). Chances are, you will be suckered, lied to and ripped off. Thailand is the more relaxed place.

The cheapest option is probably Transferwise

Another option would be a SWIFT transfer

It's not the $ 50 or whatever fee, it's the ability to do this online while being in Thailand.

Me, I have HSBC UK letting me send SWIFT wires over the phone for 5 pounds extra or online.

TransferWise - I'll pass that on. ** She has a regular Bangkok Bank account. ACH is great once it's set up. But an ACH turning into an overseas wire seems stretching it. But perhaps one will have to send a FED wire to Bangkok Bank's NYC branch?

  5. Well, I've been talking to a Math teacher, 42 for a few days. Counseling her how to handle her debt issues. (Write down every Baht you spend, go get a TRUE 4 Mbit SIM on Lazada, vsalid for a year @ < 1,800 THB etc.).

Her response: "Will you buy it for me?"

Hello, lady, I haven't even met you in person and you want me to spend 1,800 Baht?!? Have a nice life!

  6. Q: Can you recommend an ATX tower, new or used?

Q: Which brand of power supply is top quality? Corsair? Be Quiet Black? Thermaltake?

Can you recommend loudspeakers, or are you all using headphones? I had KLIPSCH in the U.S. and TEUFEL in Germany and liked them both. But doubt they will be for sale over here...

    Cheers!

  7. Asking for a friend, cannot call the hotline due to wifi issues (Google Hangouts works well for me)

A semi-domestic wire to Bangkok Bank's NYC branch, to be forwarded to Bangkok Bank in Thailand?

Can she do internation wire payments online?

Can she request a cashier's check and get that mailed to Thailand?

Hope someone knows Bank of America and has answers.

    Ta!

  8. Couldn't add text to the link.

Well, I've been eating lots of raw peanuts (BIG C sells 500 grams for 43 and 44 Baht). They stimulate regularity and fill you up nicely. Hope this will help someone wanting to lose weight.

Add Psyllium Husk, mix it with cold milk or let it turn the milk into some kind pf pudding, then eat it with fruit. It will also give your gut bacteria a workout. And lead to weight loss.

The docu is against eggs, but I found them to be great for a snack. Boiled eggs that is.

  9. Vietnam. Take Thanh Hoa City. I know a new hotel where you can get a long-stay discount, paying less than 7 million VND per month including tall utilities, of course. A bus willtake you to the beach. Renta motorcycle,m if you aren't afraid of autistic maniacs driving (as if they were drunk and you were invisible).

Food - expect way less taste or bring a dozen sauces wherever you go. You may not get ketchup with those fries.

VISA: buy one for 6 months, re-entry, it's easy. (Hello Thailand, wake up)

You may miss Thailand after a few months though
