  1. does that guy know that the cases in Phuket do (mainly) not come from international vaccinated tourists (only 89 out of 30.000 received covid albeit being vaccinated), but local transmission -  so its a local made outbreak whcih has nothing to do with international tourists.

They should realize that the house is on fire because of their own people inside the country, not from outside!

  2. I wonder what they exactly mean by quality tourism and why they want it.
With trying to attract only a hand full of rich people they won't create jobs, and income for the most. Or has one seen the billionaires eating on the street and renting a long tail boat or taking a motorbike taxi...  Its the same game as always: the rich and influential thais want a bigger piece of the cake while the normal people shall be left out.

Actually, what’s the benefit of a permanent residence in Thailand?

If you have a non - immigrant visa and work permit it does the job as long as your company sponsors you. If you lose your job, you lose your visa as well and have 1 week to leave the country. A PR lets you take your destiny in your own hands and you're not dependent on a company or job. It means security! Imagine you would lose your job, have to leave your friends, partner, house/condo, etc. and you cannot even come back because borders are closed. To avoid this it's not a bad idea to take right measurements before it's too late. Those things you have to do before you need them, once you need them it's too late.
