  1. Hi UbonJoe,

Thank you for your quick reply.

    Just a bit more information....

I am currently still on the original Non-B visa issued in Penang in December last year. So it still has 2 months left to run. Therefore as you can see I haven't been issued my first extension of stay by Immigration yet.

Does this change things if I leave Thailand the 25th of this month and apply for a Non-O at the Thai embassy in London when the Non-B still has two more months to run?

    Thanks.

    John

  2. Hi,

I am British, 53 years old and live in Bangkok with my Thai daughter for which I have a court order making me the legal father

I have a Non-B and a work permit for my current job in Bangkok, however I will leave this job the end of this month.

My employer wants to cancel my Non B visa (which I believe is normal) after I leave however this doesn't suit my timeline as I plan to travel to the UK around the 25th of this month and apply for a Non-O Visa based on supporting my Thai daughter.

Will I have any problems if I go to the UK and apply at the Thai Embassy in London for a Non-0 visa without cancelling the Non-B visa? Will they just cancel the Non-B themselves before issuing the Non-O?

    Thanks.

    John.

  3. Hi,

I am a 53 year old British citizen who is currently on a Non B (originally issued at the Thai consulate in Penang) and work permit as I work for a company in Bangkok. My employment will end in one month. I then plan to return to the UK for a two week visit before returning to Thailand long term.

I would like to go in person to the Thai embassy/consulate in London to apply for a Non-O Guardian visa based on my looking after my Thai daughter who I've looked after myself for the last 11 years. Never been married, her Thai mother lives overseas and re-married.

I have a court judgment from the Thai family court making me the legal father (not sole guardian).

I also have her Thai birth certificate.

I have searched the website for the Thai Embassy in London and also the Immigration website in Thailand but cannot find a list of the documentation and requirements to obtain this visa in the UK.

Any information as to what documents are required greatly appreciated.

    John.

  4. Hi Ubonjoe,

Thank you for your quick reply.

    1) My Non-immigrant B visa which I currently have was issued at the Thai Embassy/Consulate in Penang which was issued around 11 months ago.

    2) You said "Not sure what you mean by a retirement visa since immigration does not issue them. They will issue a extension of stay based upon retirement which you may be able to apply for if you have the required financial proof."  Does this mean that if apply for an extension of stay based upon retirement that I would keep the Non-immigrant B visa going (i.e. renew it every year)? Would it not be difficult to renew a non immigrant B visa if I am not employed?

    Thank you.

    John

  5. Hi,

I am British, 53 years old and currently have a multiple Non immigrant B visa and a work permit.

I will be finishing my job at the end of October and want to convert to a retirement visa.

Can you please confirm the following:

    1) Can I convert directly from a Non Immigrant B to a retirement Visa?

    2) How long does the process take as I need to fly to the UK asap after I finish work on October 31st for a 2 week trip?

    3) How many trips to the immigration department will it take?

    Many thanks.

    John
