Thailand Urged to Reinvent Tourism with Independent Board
Here we go again - entrepreneur clearly sees the solution ..... high-value tourists! Self interest continues to repeat. Simple mathematics suggests that large numbers of middle and low value tourists are likely to be as rewarding to the Thai economy as high-value tourists - and the foreign income would be more equitably spread to all categories of the Thai population. Better to assess and plan for each category. Serious consideration of legitimate reasons for tourists voting with their feet should include; the manipulation of the Thai Baht - inflates holiday costs the poor maintenance of attractions, accommodation and transport options unsightly rubbish abounds the air pollution fog that is produced by multiple SE Asian nations through most of the tourist season images/video of damaged hotels and buildings during the earthquake military tensions between Thailand Cambodia Seems like there is much to consider, but planning which doesn't address at least some of these issues is unlikely to succeed.

Thailand Urged to Reinvent Tourism with Independent Board
The big traditional events aren't the issue - Thai workers (presumably earning a wage) were out cleaning up very early the following morning in my local area. For me, the real problem is the lack of organisation in providing spaces and locations for people to dispose of rubbish: waste bins on pavements in shopping and entertainment areas, industrial disposal/recycling locations along with public education program and stiff fines for non-compliance.

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Straight up lie, eh? I rely on a government pension from my home country and went to the local office of the Thai Revenue Dept, took a copy of the Double Taxation Agreement between the two countries. Walked out with a Thai TIN and confirmation that my income is NOT taxable here in Thailand. No guarantee that it won't be at a later date, however presently the advisor's statement isn't a straight-up lie, your accusation is.

Even worse than you think ..... ฿30 and ฿20 .... 10x more.- Thailand Urged to Form ‘War Room’ in Response to US Tariffs
Tariffs aren't reciprocal. Trustworthy US has had a free trade agreement with Australia for the past 20 yrs and over the whole period has enjoyed a trade surplus. Yet here we are.... Trump has hit AU with a 25% tariff on steel and aluminium and 10% on all other imports to the US. Australia and many countries are now looking for alternative trading partners and trading blocs, bypassing US altogether. Good move Drump. 🤪- Does a 12 month extension approval reset the 90 day reporting deadline?

I should know this, however my mind and time on the Immigration website yielded nothing.😒 I extended my stay 12 November, my 90 day report was due 15 December. At that time I was convinced that I now had 90 days from extension approval. Would some kind soul please set me straight? Yours in appreciation....- Anutin Orders Stricter Measures to Curb Burning and Reduce PM 2.5
There's an organisation, ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) that is perfectly suited to driving progress on pollution from the top down. It isn't only Thailand and Cambodia poisoning the air we breathe and only a concerted effort by all will move the dial. * Agree on action to begin to bring air pollution levels down * Legislate provincial laws with penalties for failing * Educate farmers on best practices and subsidise them to modernise practices and equipment * Legislate vehicle emission standards and police drivers/owners with strict financial penalties * Assist with incentives to speed the transition to EV transport. Of course there is much more - for example the tourism industries should be pressuring governments to reduce pollution before tourists choose cleaner air and destinations. Periodic directives won't cut it. What will it take to have government leaders to act in the best interests of other than their own?- New Tax Rules for Expats in Thailand Spark Concern
My understanding is that Any foreign income deposited into your Thai bank account will be reported to the Thai tax authorities and will be taxed accordingly, unless you can show evidence that the money is exempt from Thai tax. For example a pension from your home country may be exempted via a double taxation agreement between the two countries, however you will need to provide the evidence to show that. Better to educate yourself than deal with the issues of non-compliance if you must pay. - Covid Cases Surge: Chula Expert Sounds Alarm on Rapid Spike
