The office is wrong. You absolutely can pay by yourself. You will need to go there in person to sort it out. I had this problem once when I was between jobs. In the end, I had to get someone on the phone from the main bkk office to tell them to do it. Some of the employees are clueless.
Main office in bkk has English speaking staff you can talk to. Good luck!

I've noticed this. The shops put the larger bags of crisps in the prominent position and the standard size on the bottom shelf hoping that people will just pick the bigger bag and spend more. Also, they are selling bags of Lays for 22 baht for 42 grams where they used to be 50g. If you buy two of the smaller 10 baht bags, you will get 50g for 20 baht. I've seen this in different shops. Not sure how long this will last as they will inevitably shrink the cheaper bags too.

The truth is that Biden explicitly supported sick leave for the workers. Your claim that his motive was to deny them sick leave is false.
I clearly didn't say that was his motive. It was the end result of his actions though.

He made it illegal for the railroad workers to strike which ensured that they would never get any paid sick days. He couldn't care less about the average working person and if you think he does, you must be completely out of your mind.
He only did this stunt to try and stop his slipping poll numbers. Simple as.

It would appear that he's talking out a certain orifice. He's part of the Davos WEF crowd, so it's to be expected

I made a new card for an SCB account recently. It was in a different province from where I opened the account. No problem, just show passport and bank book. Fee was 100 baht. I didn't have cash on me and asked if I could use the app to pay. I was pointed to the ATM outside. Go figure.

On Tuesday I went to immigration, the post office and Makro. I didn't wear a mask and nobody said anything. Those in charge are forcing the employees to mask up, but not members of the public. Doesn't make sense at all.

I was at the airport and saw this. It looked horrendous. I then walked down to the Emirates counter to check in with a queue of about 8 people. Thai Airways. Smooth as sandpaper.

I've paid KLM by transferring money from an ATM in the past. Then you email them a copy of the printout from the machine. Can probably be done on banking app on your phone now. No need to visit the office or use credit card.

The latest UK vaccine surveillance report shows that in all age groups above 40 there have been more deaths and cases in the vaccinated than the unvaccinated. On the under 40 range, the results are better for the vaccinated. If someone doesn't want to or can't get vaccinated that's their business, not mine. Restricting the healthy, but unvaccinated isn't going to stop the virus, but it will cause other social problems.

I went out last week with 2 other people. We had 8 big bottles of Singha(in plastic cups of course!) and 4 dishes of food. The bill was just under 1000 baht. The place was definitely not fancy, but the food was good and the owner friendly. There is still great value to be had in Thailand. To buy the same in the UK would be 4x the price. Maybe more.
I spoke to my mum and she told me she went out for lunch the other week and commented on how much the prices had gone up since things opened up again. This is in Scotland, so the prices down south must be astronomical now.
I'm quite happy where I am. I'm far from rich, but can enjoy a much better quality of life than I could back home.

My credit card was used twice on the night of 10th October. I woke up in the morning to see messages from the KTC app telling me of two transactions. One was for 1 dollar from Delta Airlines and another one for about 5000 baht from a hotel website in Taiwan. I called the card company immediately and they cancelled the card and got the transactions removed within 24 hours. I'm not sure how the card information was obtained, but I rarely use the card and the places I have used it can be counted on one hand. First time I've ever had a problem like this.

I renewed visa and work permit a couple of weeks ago. I filled in the work permit application and gave it back to the hr woman. She then asked me if I had the Mor Prom app. I said no. Why would she ask that? I'm guessing they're going to make it a requirement for a work permit. Maybe next year sometime once the majority of people have had 2 shots. Just speculation on my part, but I can see it happening.

I ran the water for a while yesterday and it looked ok. I checked the water in the cistern this morning and it was a bit brown, but better than before. I'm running it again now and see if it fixes it 100%
The water runs clear, but if you let it sit for a while it turns a bit brown with a very thin oily film in places.

I think I have missed out an important detail. I don't live in the house all the time. The last time the water was used was January.
I have spoken to the local builder/handyman and he suggested just turning on all the taps and see if it clears. I've already used a fair bit of water, so I'm not convinced that will help, but I'll give it a go.

It's about the same as my neighbours and they don't have a problem. I had the bore hole because when the house was built the government water was too far away and would have cost too much to put in at the time. If the worst comes to the worst I can get the government water put in as they made a connection near the front of my house a few years ago. Obviously I'd rather fix what I have if it's possible.
Maybe try another hole on the other side of the house??

Not sure exactly, but about roughly 10 metres

Nothing changed apart from the pump. I don't understand how I could have clean water for so long and suddenly it has gone bad.

I have been using a bore hole for water in my house for about 15 years. The water had always been clean until about six months ago when I changed the pump. Since then it has had iron in the water which causes stains to appear on everything. Is there any solution to this problem? It is now so bad I don't want to use the water anymore. Any help appreciated.

The Thai social security won't pay for a test,. but will cover your treatment if you test positive. This was the case last year and as far as I know hasn't changed

Just who is this "mountnting pressure" coming from exactly? Surely the police can decide for themselves if it constitutes a hate crime. Some people just want to make everything about race even when it isn't.

The online 90 day reporitng website is down and when I try to log into the app, it locks up. I'm not too worried about any tracking app. The people involved in Governmrnt related IT are clearly utter spastics. Looks like a trip to immigration is needed

Since the taxpayer funded the factory modifications, they should make the contract public. Let's see how much Siam Bioscience is making. I'm dreaming of course.

I have an old LCD tv from TCL that I bought in 2008. It still works perfectly. Never broke. I bought a newer one about 7 years ago. Never had a problem with it.
