Weird logic you have. So immigration just happily passes known criminals?
Immigration doesn't act on its own and stop people at will (though many will argue this), but based on flags in their system which are placed there by other branches of police. I know that works as I've had someone stopped and thrown in IDC before. All it took was a police report and copy of his passport.
The particular bank in question will get report made that will flag foreigner at the immigration. It would be extremely foolish of him to visit Thailand before this has been settled. But if he does anyway, I hope OP keeps us posted on his days in the Land of Smiles.
The debt is a civil issue not a criminal matter so wouldn't be flagged up at immigration.

I buy fresh baked bread 1km from my home. 50 baht for a large loaf. It' comes out of the oven at 5.15 every day and by 6pm it's usually sold out. It was baked by a Frenchman, but he recently retired. However, he had trained his Thai staff up on the art and the bread is still, probably the best bread in Thailand. I speak to the staff in Thai, they speak to me in English.
Good quality bread is available everywhere in both Saigon and Phnom Penh, due to the legacy of their French occupiers. The little baguette sandwiches from the food carts are up there amongst my favourite street food anywhere.
Could you let us know the name of the bakery?

Its pretty easy to find Thai subs for western movies nowadays, and Thai movies with English subs.
In the absence of Thai subs its visual or action movies, anything that you can follow with the sound off. Also Thais love horror movies, anything with a ghost in it, also easy to follow as visual with not so much dialogue.
There are some great Thai movies around, Romantic comedies like ATM error, Bangkok traffic love story, I Fine..Thank You..Love You. Action drama like the Ong Bak series, A prayer before dawn, The last executioner. GF will like because its in Thai and it gives you an insight into the Thai sense of humour and the stories they like etc.
Thanks for the Thai movie recommendations. Do you know of a good torrent site to download these and other Thai movies.

I would try Bangsaray just a few km away from Ban Chang but with a great beach and lots of decent sea food restaurants and family friendly bars/restaurants on the beach. Also you have the water park and Nong Nooch gardens nearby.
