  1. The issue of the next decade or two is going to be healthcare. I personally do not think Biden has a stance that is feasible. The numbers are clear, people have finally woken up and realized single payer is the only way to go. All the data is out there, the charts that show US spending on health vs efficacy are absolutely tragic. These charts need to be circulated more, more people will include themselves in the current 70% or so who support a single payer idealism. And candidates like Biden who benefit from great healthcare themselves, but who do not have a clue what it is like to be without it and worrying about bills when you are in the hospital trying to recover need to be a thing of the past.

Yes I have few and 1 (2TB) is only dedicate for the photos. It's a second backup.
Of course, external hard drive is a solution but my questions are more related to Google Photos. External drive can be corrupted, lost, stolen...
Photos on google cloud remains on the cloud, can be accessible from anywhere as long as you are online, from your PC, Mac, tablet, smarphone, android box...

Use amazon prime's photo feature, or Amazon's S3.

  3. Lord knows I am not a foreign affairs specialist. But for the life of me I do not get any of this.

Here are basic principles of this situation as far as I can surmise.

    - N Korea is not supposed to make nuclear weapons (even though many of the countries who say that have them themselves, one of which has even USED them).

    - The further N Korea gets in its nuclear efforts, the more respect and negotiating leverage they get.

How can the take home point be anything but it is good to defy the international community and go after nuclear arms for the betterment of your country?

The visa is valid for one year from the date it was issued (shown as the valid until date on the visa sticker).

You can use it to get a new 90 entry up to the valid until date. It is possible to get almost 15 months of total stay from by doing an entry just before that day.

Did this used to be different? I could have sworn these non imm o visas used to activate upon first entry, but maybe i remember that wrong.

How would a restaurant do that? So you call them to make a booking and they'll say please Paypal us 2000 baht right now to make your booking? And if you don't show up within 30 minutes after the booked time you'll loose the 2000.

    That won't work.

    You would walk in.

Thai pricing is only about being a Thai citizen, not about being local, this was explained many times before.

Somebody who is living and working full time in Thailand for 10 years (but didn't get citizenship) does still pay the tourist price. In western countries this person would probably get the locals discount.

I realize that, and all my points still stand. I was using local as synonymous with Thai. I live here, and realize a Thai from Chaing Mai wont be charged foreign prices at a Bangkok attraction.

I know for a fact, on many occasions, I do not have a statistic, but foreign workers with work permits or even Thai driving licenses do get Thai price.

Look, forget all that. New point here... life is way way to short to get this bent about things like paying an extra 40 baht somewhere. Seriously, wake up and enjoy your lives, and i mean that in the best possible way, hope it is taken that way.

  7. It is "tourists" vs Thais, not "asians vs whites" or foreigners.

I see this happen in western countries all the time. College tuition can be 10-20 times higher for foreigners and non residents. Even Disneyland got in on this, I remember there were massive discounts for people with local id's.

Foreigners and tourists are treated differently than Locals in every country.

He got elected, promising he would show his tax returns..... slightly different dynamic there.... and not “on” the voter, at all

whats “on” the voter, moving forward, is believing any other claims or promises, made by the liar in chief.

promises broken.... MAGA.... lie by lie.

He was the only one who has some sort of huge problem showing them. He made an excuse and the voters fell for it. 100% on them if you ask me, just like it will be if they fall for that again. "Good politics" is about lying: no new taxes, etc. The voters want lies. you think they would vote for a truth teller.... "many new taxes coming".

Again, they fell for the tax return lie, it is on them, just like it is for any of the lies they fall for.

  9. It might depend on your state, but you need to find your credit scores. There is one or two that do it for free, although it is not the actual scores, they are estimates i think.... creditkarma or something. You can do it all online.

Sometimes the apartment managers will be more upfront... "you need at least a 600 score". Because every time you apply to an apartment you have to pay for a credit check, and it costs like 20 bucks. Do not get me started on that stuff.

That is the main thing i would worry about, your credit score. I have returned home after about five years once btw. Everything eles is fairly straightforward except for those credit scores.

  10. Todos Santos in Baja is lovely if you do not mind the occasional large hurricane.

I have been to Peru and Ecuador and could see myself in either one quite easily. It is cheap, I think the food is probably better than Thai food, although it is all amazing. I mean ceviches, cmon. You are gonna get sick more though, trust me on that one. Except Mexico... i have found their street food to be quite well looked after, at least according to my intestines.

I think the latino people are much more on a western wavelength. I am actually surprised this has not been mentioned. Plus, every city has a main "plaza de armas" down there and I find it very quaint. It is basically prime real estate in the middle of every town that is meant for the people... to do things like socialize with foreigners and each other. Cannot beat it.

If you do stupid things in any country over there, it is going to catch up to you. Try 3am taxis solo for example. You aint gonna get awat with that every single time like you will here.

Lastly, and probably most important, the alcohol is much better down there. Most inow about margueritas and Mexican beer. But in Peru grab a fairly cheap bottle of pisco, some sprite and a few limes and let me tell you that will rival anything.

  11. Cabo. Worth it for the beer and Margueritas alone. It is a little dangerous and not my favorite spot actually. There is a town called Todos Santos north of Cabo that is a little slice of heaven, hardly deserves to be discussed here but sometimes a diamond gets posted.
