I can see Thai hospitals administering the vaccine having a note on their door saying:

    Thais - Free

    Farangs - B10,000

And what I understand is that certain hospitals have cancelled the 30 baht medical card but that's another subject.

No problem personally with 19k as long as I get the paperworks ONLY!

...one of the real advantages staying here, there should be ways of avoiding this types of poisoning by government.

  2. If there is one thing during these insane times that should get immigration to give out a medical extension that would be fever & flu-like symptoms......

Just make sure to use a very reputable hospital & let their people deal with immigration!

You could even take up any offers of a bed for a night or three, as that is what really makes the extension go through...

There is no overstay until after September 26th since everybody is that was here on March 26th are allowed to stay until then.

The 27th would be day one of overstaying.

I somehow anticipate at least some IO or agent trying to con someone claiming that once the 26th is passed then ALL the days will be overstay...

Or then we might never even hear about that, I guess most people would just cave in and/or be deported.

Guess it can well go both ways, totally the worst year to do an overstay ever!

  4. They might actually have tried to help.you, as RS would be far better to have than ED - especially if the situation should take a turn for the worse.

Other than that I wonder if there is some reason connected to your field of work that makes it hard to define if you as a person or representative of your university is the one who receives the benefit of being educated in Thailand, or if one or both universities will be gain knowledge during your stay? Could that be hard to define, and hence the reason for some confusion?

I'm not a fan of bureaucrats at all, I just wonder if factors like these might be the root cause...

Hope you eventually make it here!

  5. Well, personally I did invest in both getting a company going as well as a couple of workers.

Would have both kept that up & hired more too, and that would have been work that could have been done remotely by young thais too - something that would have been a good thing long term.

But now I'm onto a retirement visa & will stay on that as long as I spend my time her... There is a limit to the extra unknowns that anyone starting a business here should tolerate, and not knowing if one has to leave & maybe get sick that way is definitely a no-go!

  6. So, eventually had to call it a day with company & work permit...

When I've now got a stamp with an extension of stay, is that still based on the non-B multi-entry I got in Penang?

I know I cannot work now, of course, but I there is no cancellation stamp or anything like that - I guess that is natural with retirement anyway.

Another thing is the work permit, I plan on sending letters to the shareholders resigning ASAP. Would there be a certain timespan in which this has to be done?

We've paid both 2 workers and myself for September, so signing papers & stuff should be OK at least during this month...?

Thx BritManToo, good to hear this. Yes it's about Visa Extension. My Brain is working like crazy in the last days and weeks for plan B, C, D, E... and doesn't want to stop. I even prepared myself for plan B and have another Visa for another Asia country. But all visas in asia seem to be worthless in times of covid.

Totally relate to that... Hope & think it will work out for you!

Got another few hours to wait myself, won't trust anything or anyone for real until I have the passport back...

Let the agent do his thing. Use an agent you are comfortable with, regardless of location. Apply, at latest, by about September 20th. If you leave it until about September 23rd to apply, expect only a few agents to be able to help, and expect the cost to be high.

Thanks for your assesment on dates ????

Might need to locate a new agent now then... Would be OK relocating if need be, or pay - the cost of ending up going back is way higher anyway!

Expect the extension to come through this week, if not I'll have to get this up & running as backup - would it complicate or jeopardise things if I have a second agent looking into 90 day medical while I still got the existing case in the systems?

  9. Just need to map out a plan B here... Got an extension in the works, but not completely trusting the process...

If I chose to use an agent VERY close up to the deadline, would it pay off to find someone upcountry?

Would adding some real medical issues help, or should I just let an agent "do their thing" if I have to?

Will all applications give 7 days to leave, even if denied?

Should I need to try this out as a last resort, I'd also get some ticket out as a last backup - but I do NOT want to fly due to medical issues.

(Anyone wanna go on with all their second-guessing and "just leave" insanities: I'll just ignore you. You've probably never started a company here & started paying taxes a FEW months before all this s*** happened! )

Nothing test or even quarantine in Finland if coming from Thailand. Good they believe Thailand records about covid lol

Once I decided that ALL "information" about almost anything is pure fakery things started turning around with most things... ????

And yeah, I used to believe MOST was fake for years haha!

That being said there is something bad out there, seen several people with a really horrible cough... Perhaps a handful, also briefly ended up in an elevator with one of them...

Few my friend's have fligt to Helsinki last month. They not face any test in Suvarnabhumi(only fever). And also nothing extra test in local flight! Im going to flight Finland this month. Don't know when goming back, already say wife sometimes next year hopefully!

Thanks, that is VERY helpful! ????

If I have to return I fear that I might have to stay in Europe for 1-2 years...

Right now a tiny cabin in the wilderness sounds great if I have to leave family & my company behind, maybe even by one of your thousand lakes! ????

I assume from your post you are suggesting that I live on noodles. Another who, in ignorance, assumes far too much about other people and makes arrogant statements. FYI, I eat very well with Thai food for lunch and farang food for dinner, with a weekly evening out at a Thai/Farang restaurant.

How about you? Maybe you aren't able to live on 15,000 a month and resent those who can. I can understand that ????

Those who can live on a tiny amount & grow something on their own land will do well... Especially if they have some gold tucked away! ????

No, they're far worse by implying anyone without the ability to keep $25,000 in a wobbly 3rd world bank must be a worthless loser, that's far more than a year's gross wage to most of the world.

People who do have a lot know its hard to keep it all - and then putting any amount up in thai banks is a no-go!

Lots of people here with serious assets using agents... Don't really think they are the ones ever running into problems, or getting on any radar at all - they probably won't even hang around here ????

Not in my case with many, many extensions. They have always required tax records to prove that I was paid the minimum income and that I paid tax on it.

Yup... It is legal though to pay your own salary, especially after founding a company - something I did a few months before all of this happened!

Normally this would be done from the capital base, either as a loan or actual cash - no difference when it comes to visas and work permits.

The real objective of the company should be real, of course - from a legal point of view.
