I find it difficult to accept the Iranian leader making overt death threats to President Trump on Twitter being less inflammatory than Trump telling his supporters to go "peacefully and patriotically" to make their voices heard at the capitol. It just doesn't make sense. Is Twitter censorship really equally applied to all?

My point was there are 2 sides to every issue. Where does the real "truth" lie? Somewhere in between or all on the left's side? Which is why "truth and reconciliation" councils to reprogram Trump supporters brains is a tad controversial.

Truth and reconciliation? Meaning you are absolutely certain all your viewpoints are accurate and correct?
Just my thoughts on the matter, but you could strap me into a chair and feed me 24/7 propaganda of your choosing, but I will never believe that Trump was proven to have colluded with Russia to game the 2016 election, that Trump quid pro quo'd in the Ukraine more than Biden did, that the last years burning and looting and capturing entire city blocks by armed warlords was peaceful protest, that Jussie Smollett was attacked by 2 redneck white racists that epitomized Trump supporters and the MAGA movement, that Steve Scully was the gold standard of impartiality, and that the Russians faked a certain laptop and multi-way corroboration of the contents of said computer which led to the suspect media behaviour, draconian censorship and verge of civil unrest that we see now.
Republicans will never stop believing the election was unfair but I am censored from discussing this matter, which does not make me believe your position and integrity more, in fact it does exactly the opposite.
Sorry, we just flat out disagree on so many things. Issues where you can not credibly prove the left's stance is correct - and the other wrong. It is possible winding back the censorship and accepting that perhaps the left got some things wrong over the last 4 years, and making moves to wind in unelected big tech titans power could help. But, I suspect the division is too wide now, and the farcical impeachment and left wanting an Orwellian " truth and reconciliation" drive is icing on the cake.

Not the answer I wanted to hear, but thank you. Wonder how many of us expats realize we may not have as dignified a time as expected?

An internet search does not give results beyond Hat Yai itself. Does anyone know whether such a service is commonly used in rural Thailand? Forcing the patient to travel to hospital multiple times daily for an injection is causing much stress and this morning was just too ill to make the trip at all. The patient wants to stay at home and enjoy time with family and with as much comfort and dignity as possible under the circumstances. Local hospital said such a service does not exist. This is in Songkla in a fairly remote area. Any extra info such as expected pricing would be helpful.

Great move by Trump. Bannon is a master strategist. He was one of the architects of the successful MAGA movement that got minorities back into work, got the economy back on track, all the historic peace deals in the ME etc. I envisage Trump and Bannon teaming up to create a new media platform. One that welcomes free speech and champions America and American people. This will be a wonderful new era, can't wait to see it all roll out and lead up to the 2022 midterms.

I can't believe it, this is excellent news. Was so sure this would get dragged out forever and forgotten like the Alpine and RedBull sagas. Now let's see this judgement carried out asap, this afternoon suits.

Someone recently asked why I invested in crypto via listed miners and Grayscale trusts. This is why! Shady exchanges shutting on a whim - we lost our initial fun money on the other Thai exchange when it suddenly shut last year and we had no way to transfer coins out from the to be imminently closed account.

Boxing day now and BTC hitting new all time highs a few times this morning, as I write it stands at $25,000. Well done all fellow long term holders. We took the risk and were amply rewarded. Onwards and upwards in 2021, good luck all.
I was wondering how others are getting their exposure to the crypto world? I did it through miners and Grayscale trusts, both of which suitably outperformed the underlying asset although the premiums on the Grayscale products make me uncomfortable.

You have yet to link to a credible report to prove that it was Trump that wanted $10 million sent for Pakistan gender studies and other wastes of money on foreign pork projects, against the democrats wishes. I know Trump, and I know the democrats. Wanting such sums sent abroad for such outrageous projects is NOT Trump's work or style. I need a report as per this forums rules that prevent people making things up and presenting things as fact.

Correct, he was caught on video bragging about it. something like - I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money, Well, son of a <potty mouthed profanity removed> he got fired.
But this time you are at least half correct. It was certainly quid pro quo-ing, but it was the wrong perpetrator. This is not a thread about the Bidens overseas escapades and adventures. There are no threads on that for some reason.

No. What you read is that the foreign policy portions of the bill came from the Trump administration. McCarthy is just gaslighting. Some people all too easily fall for it.
Thank you, so as per the forum rules, please provide proof in the form of a credible link to prove your statement that "the foreign policy portions of the bill came from the Trump administration". As I said yesterday(before I was corrected without links or sources) that it is extremely unlikely that Trump wanted for example $10 million sent to the likes of Pakistani gender programs.

If you are talking about Russia,Russia,Russia or Ukraine-gate , the 2 biggest failed investigations during the last 4 years, there was no guilty verdict nor any reason for Trump to give himself a pardon. If you are talking about some other alleged crime, a link would certainly be helpful as well as being in line with forum rules.

"House Democrats appear to be suffering from selective hearing," he wrote in a letter to other House Republicans.
Hold on a minute. I was told very clearly yesterday that the Republicans were the ones who wanted these foreign aid payments and the democrats did not. Seems that was false information? Maybe the poster that wrote it can back up his assertion from yesterday without me reposting the post?

Forgetting a credible link to back that improbable theory of yours? Trump is on record, and as per the CNN interview I just posted, of wanting to get the covid bill passed asap and way before the election, while Pelosi played politics and dragged it out. Read the Blitzer/Pelosi interview for starters if you want to understand what was happening.

During the whole negotiations from eight months ago when the Democrats already had it prepared and the Republicans were stalling for after the election Trump did absolutely nothing Trump knew exactly what the Republicans were going to do and he agreed now that the Democrats and Republicans have passed it he wants a veto it saying he wants Americans to have more money like he’s the big hero Trump is just one big liar another screwup like when he said the virus was no worse than the flu like when he says china Is a bigger threat than Russia or Russia is hacking into everything Trump says that one word and I was thinking Trump said he believes Putin more than his own intelligent people Trump is just in crazy Ville thank God he’s leaving soon it was his lies and conspiracy theories etc. etc. anybody with a brain knows Trump is just one liar and the worst president America ever had
You may have missed this interview, it sheds light on why the bill was not passed before.
"Pelosi wasn't done. "Let me say this with all due respect, with all due respect, and you know we've known each other a long time, you really don't know what you're talking about," she said as Blitzer continued to ask why the $1.8 trillion deal proposed by the White House wasn't good enough."

Beg to differ, why specifically select a program for ridicule which in fact is aimed at supporting women's rights in a Muslim country.
It is called the Covid relief bill. It is an emergency measure to ensure Americans whose lives and livelihoods have been decimated by the CoronaVirus and lockdown responses enforced by the govt can feed and shelter themselves. So, it is entirely fair that reading the small print and learning many millions of American tax payers $ will be sent for some gender project in Pakistan caused some raised eyebrows. Unless of course, a gender project in Pakistan turns out to be critical for American's lives to return to normality once the virus dies out or herd immunity kicks in? But I doubt it.

Is it "unduly dragged her family into the spotlight" because the reports of her breaking her own corona lockdown guidance on social distancing and how many can meet were fake? or unduly because she thought herself superior to the public who should quietly follow Ms Birx's orders and not notice or question her own behaviour, and had a rude awakening at the outrage and resigned in a fit of pique?

That is not the way I remember events unfolding. Do you have some link to prove the democrats did not want to be funding Pakistani gender programs and all that other stuff, and that Trump DID? That just does not sound plausible, sorry.
3 minutes ago, stevenl said:Your sentence about refusing the cheques is just trolling though. Unless you're addressing the Republicans on here who want to decrease the deficit?
I do not troll. I am referring to those posting here that Trump's stimulus is so terrible etc, that if they choose to not accept it for personal reasons, that there should be an opt out clause. Nobody wants to force somebody into taking a hand-out from someone they despise so much, it would be soul destroying. Whether Republican or Democrat.

Trump also complained about money provided for foreign countries, the Smithsonian Institution and fish breeding, among other spending that is in the part of the legislation to fund the U.S. government.
Sounds like good old fashioned common sense. Give the American public more, and give less to the likes of Pakistan gender programs(whatever they even are, or why they are given $10 million in an American covid stimulus bill). I am seeing every poster so far hating this proposal by Trump, I ask is it possible for people to refuse the $2,000 cheques if they hate Trump? It should be an option.

Trump administration had no coronavirus vaccine distribution plan - White House
in World News

Yes that's right. The vaccine distribution plan was called Operation Warpspeed, it was even praised by Biden.
"President-elect Joe Biden finally offered some words of praise for President Trump’s record-breaking Operation Warp Speed. Better late than never, we guess.
After getting his own jab Monday, Biden acknowledged the Trump administration’s hard work on vaccine development, specifically crediting Operation Warp Speed with “getting this off the ground.”
