She must have been on her knees for a long time at the local BIB station to get away with this one so lightly.

Kick her out. The sooner the better.

Wonder what the age cut off is? Will my 10 year old daughter be eligible?

Surat doesn't offer much for foreigners. It's dominated by it's close proximity to the islands. Wealth from the islands tends to inflate land prices. Mostly a transit town.

As a multi year expat here, it's definitely my feeling that almost all Thais dislike farang. For a variety of reasons. I don't let it bother me.

This is just the tip of the iceberg here. I hope they clear them all out.

I will second what One More Farang said. Lots of lookers in Buri Ram.

Put him in the monkey house for a long time. His future is bleak. No sympathy here.

Nothing. Only if you have a minor child who has been registered at the US Embassy and is a US citizen. Then that child would receive approximately half of what your benefit was until the age of 18.

Typical here in Thailand . Thais too lazy and don't care. Very sad.

Sirineou gave you some good answers. Other possible trips could include Chaing Mai in the North. Nong Khai in the Northeast. And Hat Yai in the South. Definitely go to at least one of the islands. Which one could depend on the time of year and your interests. The ancient capitals of Sukothai and Ayutthaya are also worthwhile.

She could always just divorce the scumbag. But Thai laws won't leave her with much and she'd likely have to go to work. Between a rock and a hard place, she is.

You can tell he's been in Thailand for a long time. Already shirking responsibility, just like the Thais do. "Oh, I didn't actually kick her. I slipped." LOL

I honestly believe that Phuket is the very last place I would ever choose to live in Thailand. Even beneath Pattaya, but only by a wisker.

Check to see if there are any Warmshowers hosts in your area. These people will often store a bicycle for you. I'm a Warmshowers host in Trang, and I often keep bicycles here while people go out to visit the islands.

I would think that is what you would do. They essentially want the job requirement as proof that you will return. I just submitted a business card and a copy of my business insurance front page because I was self employed. All the addresses were the same, so they could link them up if they cared enough to do so. I applied to the N.Y Consulate, successfully.

She already was.

Do you have a degree? One that the schools and/or immigration can verify? Being from America will help, but without an actual degree or a TESOL certificate, it could be a tough slog finding a job.

I use this border crossing quite often. A quick over and back should be fine. I have never heard of or seen them requiring an overnight stay. I went over and back in August of last year and had no problems.

Do you know for a fact that this is a recent change? It is generally accepted, based on many reports, that a multiple Non O as parent of a Thai child is available in Penang (and only Penang among nearby consulates). You must be able to show 400,000 baht in the bank. Sometimes, Penang has been reported as only giving a single Non O on first application, but a multiple Non O when you apply again.
[Kuala Lumpur will not give a multiple Non O to a parent. Does anyone know for sure the policy in Kota Bharu?]
I was down to the Consulate in Kota Bharu just a few weeks ago. They only give a single entry Non-O based upon being the Father of a Thai child. They want to see house book, birth certificate (marriage certificate if married), and financial proof. Pick up at 2 p.m. the following day. Closed from 12 to 2 for lunch. Closed Fridays and Saturdays.

Well deserved. 2 years is actually light in my opinion.
