As far as the TM30 is concerned, it should not be any issue for you which is the question you are asking... correct. You need not change TM30 every time you move around. And as far as the border run at Nong Khai is concerned, it also is not an issue as Dr Jack clarified. I know an individual that made the trip from Hua Hin, taxi to DM airport and fly to UTH then taxi to border.... stamp out then back in reverse the process finish in 1 day.

Yeah my question is i wont have any issues when extending my setv providing i have checked into some hotel.

Thats my plan for border bounce but unsure how can get a taxi to the border and back

It's a border bounce. Not difficult.

You have many options from Bangkok.

Fly to Udon Thani airport and from there minivan or taxi to Nong Khai.

    Same back to UT airport.

No requirement at friendship bridge to stay overnight.

To do it in one day depends on flight times.

So it be easier to get a taxi from Udon Thani and then how to cross the bridge and back?  Tell Taxi to go through and come back?

  3. Hi

Last few times i got SETV and got 30 day extension, i always stayed in private apartment but the owner didnt do a TM30.  I always did the eVisa for the extension.

However, during these times, often within the 2nd week i would travel to like Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Udon and stay in hotels.  Question is why havent i been required to provide a TM30 in last 2 extensions.  This coming trip i plan to stay with my girlfriend and then also go to Chiang Mai to a hotel for a short break.

I plan to do a border bounce when close to my 90 days, i plan to take a flight from Bangkok to Laos, however. i am not sure what to do from here.  What do i need for the border bounce?  Ideally something comfortable to get me from Laos to Udon Thani within the day.  Any links to previous posts would be most apprecaited

In your case, I'd head by taxi to the morning market bus station and get on a direct Vientiane - Udon Thani bus. They depart around 8 times daily so provided your flight arrives during the day it probably won't be a long wait. This bus will take you seamlessly all the way to Udon Thani bus station. A separate bus service also goes just to Nong Khai, with roughly 8-10 departures daily.

Walking across the bridge is prohibited. It's not necessary anyway when the same bus will take you across the border. It will wait for you. Thailand bound buses will take all foreign passengers regardless of their visa situation. Some of the short haul Lao bound buses only take travelers from visa free countries, those holding an e-visa or standard visa sticker as they don't want to hang around waiting for travelers applying for visas on arrival.

What are the alternatives to a bus?

  5. Any advice on how can do the border run to nong khai and then to udon?

I can take a flight to Laos, but how can i get to nong khai border?  Then after that how can i get to udon thani area after crossing nong khai?

At nong khai do i just walk across or need a vehicle?  Any help be appreciated

the hotel registers you with immigration you dont get the tm30 unless requested but if you are not staying there you cannot ask them

you do not need a tm30 for a border bounce
you may require one for for an extension dependent on location/immigration office
if you go for extension and are staying with gf
someone else will have to answer that

So if i stay at hotel first, then go with live with my gf.  I wont have issues with extension as TM30 already done at hotel?

Out of interest....did you need to provide flight out of Thailand for the application process.

    Thinking longer the better.

    End of Feb?

I do my usual, use an airline app, go through until confirmation before pay, then capture on phone and use that as my flight info

  8. The overstay isnt the issue as ive reentered twice into bkk already. The qiestion is how close can i go back to bkk since i returned back to uk on Jan 21st that i can return back to bkk.  Just had my TR approved. The application process is much more painfree and faster.

Where are you flying to Thailand from?

You could consider flight to Saigon to extend your time out of Thailand.

Especially if you are visa exempt for Vietnam. Nice joint , then fly Saigon to CNX

Iam back in UK, now in process of getting my TR

    That's the problem.

Nobody can be sure or state with any certainty that you will not have a problem .

A visa helps but even that is no guarantee

Also 2 overstays and yes have read the reasons in previous threads of yours.

They are not a big concern. It's more collective time spent in Thailand along with time between visits.

Thats my concern, 5 weeks from. my last visit is what iam uncertain of

  11. Hi all

Back in 2021 i stayed bkk with tourist visa plus about 5 covid extensions.

I left in 2022 with 4 day overstay and the  reapplied tourist visa and rentered via chiang mai and then bkk after 1 month back in uk.

Recent trip i got tourist + 30 days + 1 covid extension and left with 14 overstay(was hospitalied and needed to.opearte).

I entered bkk on 1st Feb 23 via TR and extended and left on 1st May.

I then entered Bkk on 22nd June via TR and left on 13th Sept.  60TR + 30 day Ext

Entered Bkk on Oct 24th on TR and left on Jan 21st + 30 day Ext

Iam looking to go back for Songkran and have started applying for TR to enter around end of Feb/Begin of March

What are my options of getting in?  Fly in to BKK airport?

Did you fully use the 60 days on the previous two tourist visas, and apply for the 30-day extensions? How long a gap was there between the 1st trip, second trip, and now the third trip? With the exception of these trips using the tourist visas, did you have other recent trips to Thailand as a tourist?

Depending on the answers to all these questions, it is possible (but thank fully unlikely) that the wrong official at Suvarnabhumi could decide you should not have been issued a visa and deny your entry. This is only a risk at certain airports as entry is only supposed to be denied pursuant to specific reasons given in Section 12 of the Immigration Act.

    First time used 90 days.

    Second time 87 days.

Period between all 3 TR around 6-7 weeks.

No other previous entries into Thailand during this period
